SO, I understand these aren't the best speakers out there to begin with, but they get the job done for now, and don't sound too bad for a little over $25. However, I was wondering if anyone has tried upgrading the subwoofer driver, and what their experience was.

Found a couple cards, and they are looking to come out to about the same cost. An EVGA GTX 970 FTW (just the card), and a Sapphire RX 470 Nitro+ 4GB w/box. Both a little more then $60 shipped. Games I play are: Mass Effect (1-3) Kingdom Classic/New Lands BioShock (1-Infinite w/remastered versions) Borderlands (GOTY Enhanced Edition, The Pre-Sequel, and 2) The Witcher (1-3) The Elder Scrolls (Morrowind-Skyrim[modded]) Spellbreak Apex Legends CSGO Dirty Bomb Paladins Warframe Dota 2 Fallout 3 NieRAutomata Final Fantasy VII Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII X-Blades Bayonetta Skullgirls Undertale Ori and the Blind Forest Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice Axiom Verge Peggle Papers, Please Minecraft Subnautica Battlefront (og and 2) Battlefield 1942 Some emulated games (Gamecube, GBA/GBC, PS/PSP, DS) Soooo, yeah, I play a bit of alot of different games. It is, and it isn't. In this case, it's more Vega and Touring. This comparison and all the others that Hardware Unboxed have done demonstrate how different games will operate differently based on how the game is optimized, coded, and who's sponsoring it.

What reviewers that are reliable and trustworthy use it. I don't mean bringing up the claims, I mean ACTUALLY use it.

When have you ever seen anyone use TFLOP as an actual performance metric beyond AMD or Nvidia themselves?

Vulkan is a low-level API, just like DirectX. The difference is DirectX is Windows specific(proprietary) where as Vulcan is Open Source. Anyone can get ahold of Vulcan and alter it, or even have it function natively on other operating systems, like Linux or (theoretically) Mac OS. Yes, the majority of games are DX11/DX12, however an open source API(like Vulkan) allows devs to reach out to a much wider audience, like those who don't want to use Windows. Yes, companies sponsering games are, and probably will always be a thing, and no, Nvidia will not be happy about someone they are funding using a competitor's resources. As far as people being upset about exclusives is irritating, but understandable. Companies don't like competition. Having more places and more accounts for us to keep track of is also cumbersome. However, even in cases like Boarderlands 3, it's only a temporary exclusivity.

They beat Nvidia at other games as well, just not as readily. Not to mention, this is an example they finally get to show off Vulkan again, as only two games I'm aware of are using it. it is great that competition is heating up, but I don't think that Vulkan and AMD are going to overthrow DX12 or nVidia anytime soon. Microsoft and nVidia have too much fight in them to let that happen.

Noticed this while going through Google News. Straight from WCCFTech and TechQuila, both will be linked to at the bottom. Well, we haven't heard anything from Vulkan since Doom (2016), so it's nice to see that Team Red is getting some love. I would like to say that I disagree with the claim that it's made NVIDIA's success obsolete, especially with the marketshare, lack of decent competition, and lack of implementation of Vulkan(Though the same can be said about RTX at this point, but I digress). Would also disagree that DX12 has made things worse, just in the beginning, there was no motive to utilize it the way it should. Now, it's more the way games are being marketed and the kind of bugs being found that are making them garbage.(We will not speak of some of the horrors that EA, Bethesda, Blizzard and the like have tried cramming down our throats) Well now, ain't that something. At 1080, even the air cooled Vega 64 which start at $420 (if you can find one) is readily beating the ~$1100+ RTX 2080 Ti. Even the $279+ Vega 56 is matching the 2080 Ti in the lows, and is 11 FPS lower in the average, which would make it a smoother experience, at that that high a framerate, more people won't be able to tell the difference. The story continues with the gaps closing, and NVIDIA gaining back the lead at 4K, though by a small margin. Still, even the RX 590 is putting up a fight against the much more expensive RTX 2070 at 1440p and 4K. Well, while game was only just recently released, and does not seem to be getting the best reception, it does seem to be an AMD sponsered title, and use their open source API, which would give them the obvious edge, though this much at lower resolutions is a bit much. Oh, I don't doubt for a moment that they will try to come back, should they deem it worthy. With the reception of the game however.... Well, only time will tell. Either way, a very nice showing from AMD, and something for Team Red to be happy about. Alright, I've got a friend who's come to me with this.... he's trying to build a computer, (r3 1200) and is just wanting to get into gaming. He's bought everything..... but the graphics card and some extra case fans. He's using the Thermaltake Versa H15 (non-windowed version). What's worse, he's only got $70 left in the budget. There's no way we're picking up anything decent new, and the fan that's included looks like it belongs in the garbage disposal(plus it wouldn't be good to get a case that looks to be well ventilated, only not to use it). Any ideas or suggestions? Fyi, most of it was bought used, so returning things may be out of the question. He's also in a really rural area, and the nearest "city" is 4-5 hours from where they live.

I have the DT990 Pros, and I love them. I personally don't notice them being too bright like others have complained about, but that may just be me. They do need an amp though. The HD 58x are an excellent choice, and aren't far off sound quality wise from the HD 660s. Another option that wouldn't be bad is the HiFiMAN HE-350, though I would say to keep in mind that you may want to swap the pads for Brainwaves angled velour pads, and the arms aren't the best build quality(mine arrived broken on a Monday, but after reaching out to HiFiMAN, they had a replacement in my hands by the same Friday). As for an dac/amp, you've got a few different options, all dependent of what you have left in the budget and what you're looking for.

That effect can be pulled off with a good pair of headphones. Get a pair with good imaging, and it'll feel like you can pinpoint where individual instruments are.

Best way for that, cheap PSU that's strong enough to run the computer. Keep that around for testing purposes.

Okay, so there are three things that would typically cause this kind of behavior: 1) PSU 2) CPU 3) Mobo Here's the info I gatered: Computer will not power on, no fan spin PSU fine according to troubleshoot Mobo claims something to do with the PSU is wrong when 24 pin ATX power and 8 pin 12V CPU power cable are plugged in Mobo recognizes the 8-pin is not plugged in when only 24 pin is. I would see about trying a different 8 pin cable first. If still nothing, look into a cheap CPU that can fit your mobo. If that fixes it, you know it was the CPU. If still not fixed, you can look into new mobo, or checking to see if your PSU is actually bad.

Here's my question: are you wanting to stay on air, just move from a blower style to dual fan? Or are you willing to go for the cost of water?

How thick of a rad are you going with?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Steam

TBH, If you genuinely feel the need to upgrade, just get a i7-7700k and OC. Otherwise, yeah, ride it out till your system is starting not to be able to do what you need/want it to do.

Check with Disc Management to verify you do have enough space on the drive your Stem Library is on.
