Hugh_Mungus got a reaction from Mihle in Scientists have found a way to chemically reverse (If only partially) senescence
I think that a solution would be to live longer as long as you don't have children? that way over population doesn''t become a thing. I imaging what they found to extend cells life requires constant medication or supplements. If you change your mind just stop taking the medication and die normally.

If youre considering building a whole new pc just to stream your other pc, maybe look into a build using a 1700 or 2700 and selling your current pc.

Hugh_Mungus reacted to YongKang in NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 PCB: more power, new SLI finger
Since there's a rumor going with Nvidia releasing their new GTX1180 at Gamescom, now, there've been a new leak of the GTX1180 PCB from Chiphell (spotted by Tweaktown)
The new SLI finger should be a key interest here, especially since Asus and Acer are pushing their 4K 144Hz G-sync panels and 65" 120 big display. Does it mean we gonna see much better SLI scaling from now on, or even a single 1180 will be able to push 60+ FPS at 4K no problemo?
Food for thoughts. Actually, the new GPU could be named 2080 since Nvidia is celebrating at Gamescom on 20/8. Hmmm... *tin foil hat*

Hugh_Mungus reacted to Matty70988 in I wanna know more about Tarans Workflow
I wanna know how many macros taran has now with a proper update and if there has been any changes to the software he uses to get his keyboards working and also i am a video editor myself and i would like to know how to add more than just the 2 keyboards i have and get them working stabiliy. And i am having some issues with lua macros and frankly i dont want to learn how to code in lua.
I would also like to know how your editors work round any corrupted footage they may encounter, well tbh i want to know how they work around premieres bugs. I have used premier for the past 2 years and i will continue to use it but i have en counted points where premier actually corrupts its own project file while in use has that ever happened to any videos in LMG?

Hugh_Mungus got a reaction from Epiceleon in Home Security Recommendations
Alright, You can always go to a major home security company and have them install the system, with sensors on widows and doors, the Thing is is that you don't need to Pay for the 24/7 home monitoring and calling the cops from their part ECT. Just the noise of an alarm going off when they break in will scare away intruders.
TLDR. Pay for a big home security company to install their system but don't subscribe to their services.

Hugh_Mungus got a reaction from GDRRiley in Needing a build on a tight budget
that is probably the best you can do, HOWEVER i DO NOT see a cpu Cooler on that list, and you will need fans and thermal paste as well. The nice part about the cpu mobo you bought is in the future you can up grade to the ryzen 5 for better performance.

Hugh_Mungus got a reaction from Nebbia in Best CPU for gaming/recording?
I just upgraded to the new Ryzen 7 2700x for $400 really because I sold my i7 6700k / mobo/ ram and cpu cooler to a friend for $250. If you do the same you could save a few bucks. Even if you don't. You STILL have enough money left to buy a High end GPU for gaming. Overclock the ram to 3000 Mhz and you get a 16% performance increase! I chose the Ryzen 2 X470 mobo with my Zen + CPU so that I Have an upgrade path for the new features coming to the new Ryzen 2 cpu's coming next year. Plus the mobo has a higher power cap to feed the Cpu giving more stable power for a overclock.
New games like Pubg, Far Cry 5 and Rainbow Six siege favor 6 Cores now for maximum FPS.

Hugh_Mungus reacted to AshleyAshes in cryptocurrency(bitcoin) Vs meltdown & spectre
Yup. It's all part of a grand conspiracy. Intel introduced the first Meltdown/Specter vulnerable CPUs in 1995 with Speculative Execution in 1995, a whole 13 years prior to the Bitcoin white paper being published in 2008. Now, you'd THINK this means that it's impossible but it's not, you see, Intel has been hiding their most secret technology for decades: DMail, short for 'Delorean Mail'. It's a system that Intel uses to send messages into the past so that they can change history and ensure their dominance.
They know you know now.
They are coming for you.
Run.

You state that your question is random; however, I feel like you (or possibly a "friend") has done this exact thing recently.
But agreed, you'd have to rinse it all out with alcohol.
What kind of thermal paste did you use? Hopefully something not electronically conductive?

Hugh_Mungus got a reaction from Ddarlington36 in Samsung Starts Producing Industry's First 16-Gigabit GDDR6 Memory
But now that GDDR6 is FASTER and CHEAPER than HBM2. Also They said that they can produce it 30% faster. Hopefully this means that GDDR6 won't be the supply bottleneck in the next generation of graphics cards and hopefully prices will come down.

Hugh_Mungus reacted to dizmo in Samsung Starts Producing Industry's First 16-Gigabit GDDR6 Memory
I think your post is missing some pretty important information...like how at a 384bit bus, GDDR6 does 864 GB/s. That absolutely crushes HBM2.
HBM3 is what will be most interesting.
