Tokeegee reacted to Catsrules in LGA2066 Motherboard no onboard video
Ahh so the CPUs themselfs don't have the integrated graphics. That make sense why the motherboards don't have it.
Thanks.

Tokeegee got a reaction from LukeSavenije in Can anyone make a better build then a pre-built system from walmart?
I'm just curious why that pre-built has an i9 and a 1060 as it's parts of choice.

Tokeegee reacted to kirashi in Looking for Foolproof Antivirus Software for My Grandmother
I find that education coupled with MBAM Premium, Windows 10's built in Defender, and CommonSense™ work much better than security suites of times past. although you cannot purchase that last one. Unfortunately, nothing will prevent a user who willingly installs crapware on their system, as it's impossible for any security software to catch & prevent the installation of 100% of Potentially Unwanted Programs if a user explicitly chooses to go through the installation prompts.

Tokeegee got a reaction from Zmax in Windows running incredibly slow after motherboard swap
I was wondering if that was the issue. I used to run on an intel cpu with this install of windows, so I have a ton of old drivers that might be conflicting.
I kind of wanted to avoid a windows re-install, but it's probably what's best for my system.

Tokeegee reacted to dalekphalm in Issues with FedEx Delivery
For the vast majority of people, that's an impractical, borderline impossible suggestion.
People have jobs and obligations that - for most people - cannot be changed on short notice. Furthermore, while couriers do give delivery estimates, there is no guarantee that the delivery will happen on the day of the estimate. Canada Post and UPS, for example, are usually early.
Plus, actual delivery time could vary between early in the morning all the way until evening.
Am I going to take an entire day off work just because I ordered something? Nope.
Granted, Canada Post basically always gives me the delivery notice to pickup at the post office (often they don't even bother knocking on the door). Or I can have packages sent to my office at work, but many places of employment don't allow that.
One thing I've noticed that helps is if I am expecting a delivery and I know I'll be home, I'll write a big note and stick it in the mailbox for the delivery person to see, letting them know to knock on the door.

Tokeegee got a reaction from dalekphalm in Issues with FedEx Delivery
So what ended up happening was they took it to the wrong state, with the same city name. I have no idea how it happened considering Zip codes exist. Anyway, my 1080 should be here Monday, and the shipping center that delivered it didn't even get word of it until Friday. It's actually ridiculous how many times I had to call FedEx to get this figured out. A quick call to Newegg gave me a refund on my shipping, with no hassle at all. Newegg was fantastic, FedEx is simply the worst company I've ever dealt with for support, other than maybe MSI.

I had a friend who could snipe better than anyone I had ever met and he used a trackball.

Tokeegee got a reaction from Beef Boss in Issues with FedEx Delivery
So I ordered a GTX 1080 from Newegg with 1 day shipping, and it was shipped through FedEx. People were at my house, near the door, when the package eventually "Arrived," however nobody heard a knock, and when I got home around 2 hours later the package was not there. Now after calling FedEx, and having basically nothing come from it, other than "we might call you some time, and if we can't find it, then you will have to wait 5-6 business days before we file a claim with Newegg," I'm frustrated.
Has anyone else had issues like this? If so, how did you resolve it? I'm very frustrated that my 450$ GPU is just missing somewhere in the world, and I now have to wait days to even get an idea of if I will be getting a new one, or the one I ordered. This isn't even the first time I've had FedEx royally screw up shipping. I had the same thing happen when I ordered my 144Hz display, and had to wait 5 days, after paying 1 day shipping.
Maybe the moral of this is don't pay for 1 day shipping? I have no idea!

Tokeegee got a reaction from Kingslasher3000 in VGA Compatability
HDMI and DVI are basically the same connector in different form factors (as well as HDMI having sound)
I use an hdmi into pc, dvi out to monitor in my secondary PC and it works fine.
This is the same cable I use in fact.

Tokeegee reacted to Brooksie359 in PC rating?
I mean the base machine looks really solid. I would get 2 more 4 sticks of ram because 8 gb is really cutting it close in alot of games now and could really affect performance. I would also get an ssd as running only HDDs with a systen that nice is really a shame.

Tokeegee reacted to Max_Settings in What To Check When Buying Used GPU?
Clock speeds, GPU-Z, as well as run a test like Heaven benchmark to see what kind of FPS and stability you have. If you run heaven and get like 10fps you know you have a fake.

Tokeegee got a reaction from Vigilante505 in Best Looking 144hz Display for 200-300$
I generally try to avoid MSI products, as I've had a terrible time with their customer support, it does look really good at a low price, though, I am considering it.

I think people expect a deal from a cpu/mobo combo usually though, he might want to discount it a bit, or just part it out.

Tokeegee got a reaction from Massimo480 in 1080 ti + 970 in same PC?
NVidia drivers are universal accross all cards since at least the 600 series I believe. Probably even before, so your 970 drivers should work with the 1080 TI. You should be able to just plug n' play.
