  1. I can bargain with the best of them! I was thinking of trying to find a 1060 6gb but I wasn't sold on it. Also, I wasn't seeing a lot of used 1060/70s out there on the used market. Part of me was thinking of just getting a rx580 and calling it a day, but idk.
  2. Under $200...that's why I'm hunting older used hardware.
  3. Hey crew! I need a reco for a GPU. 5820k on a Gigabyte GA-X99-SLI. Gaming, light video editing and content creation. Was thinking of doing two 780 Tis in SLI (a config I've used before on a different platform) or maybe a single 970/980. I'm so indecisive! Lol! If anyone has any other thoughts, I'd love to hear your idea. Thanks all!
  4. Working on a customer PC and the Iron Wolf Pro 4TB drive he purchased isn't being detected. I've tried new SATA data and power cables. I tried every SATA port on the ASUS ROG Strix B450-F gaming board. Is there a setting in the BIOS that needs to be changed if you're using NAS drives? I need help! Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi everyone, Building a new rig (Ryzen 5 2600, ASRock B450M-PRO4, Corsair Crystal 280X) and I ordered a Corsair H100i. Now I have 2 Noctua NF-P12 redux 1700 fans. Which would cool better, the Noctuas or the included ML120s? Plan to OC and want to get as much out of 2600 as I can off the B450 board. Thanks! ~Tropton~
  6. Hey All, Looking for some opinions on the LG V40 ThinQ. Big time media eater, YouTube/Netflix/Twitch viewer, and light photograpy. I don't game on my phone. Let me know what you all think! Trop
  7. Does anyone one know why the 6700K is still so expensive? $430 on Newegg! I can get its 7th and 8th Gen counterparts for $100 less. I have an MSI Z170M Mortar mobo that I want to do a build in and I want to use the 6700K, but not at that price. Is the 6600K worth paying $100 less or should I just bite the built? Thanks all, Trop
  8. We shall see how it all shakes out. Obviously there are legit uses and much shadier uses of this info. We'll have to see where that vague line is drawn.
  9. So you would think that a mobile carrier NOT selling your location data to a third party would be, shall I say, an industry standard. Well, it's not. Not yet anyway. Verizon has announced that it will no longer sell its mobile users location data to any third party intermediaries, according to The Associated Press. They are the first in the industry to end this practice since it was uncovered by Oregon Senator Ron Wyden (D) that a company that purchased such information wasn't verifying if its users were legally allowed to track cellphone users while using their service. In a letter to carriers and the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), Wyden stated that Securus Technologies, the company in question, "wasn't actually verifying if those documents were legitimate, Securus did not conduct any review of surveillance requests." Two headline instances of such misuse of this information: 1) A Missouri sheriff was charged with illegally tracking 11 individuals without warrant or court order; with information obtained from Securus. 2) LocationSmart, one of the two companies that purchases user location information directly from Verizon, was leaking real-time location data of customers from every major U.S. carrier, during a free demo tool on its website. Verizon is the first major U.S. carriers to end this practice and they were applauded by Sen. Wyden for doing "the responsible thing and promptly announced it was cutting these companies off. It is frightening to think that the other U.S. carries did not follow suit. We shall see if any do. If you are at all concerned about your location information being sold to a third or even second party, I would bring you concerns to the attention of your individual carrier or local state or U.S. congressional leader. There are legitimate uses for your location information (ie real time traffic information and law enforcement uses, when the proper warrants and/or court orders are obtained). The more people that speak up to have regulations put in place, the safer our information will be. 12. Hey Everybody, I am currently planning to build a sleeper pc inside a hollowed out HP Pavilion Slimline s7520n. I have an Apevia 300W psu, a Gigabyte ab350n-gaming mobo, and thinking of using a Ryzen 5 2400G apu. I know the 2400G has onboard graphics, but I'm thinking I need more! However, the case only have 1 expansion slot and it's a half height slot. Trying to find a decent gpu to fit has been really challenging. Budget isn't that important, but trying to keep things within reason and I can always get a more powerful psu, if needed. Thanks for your help in advance. ~tropton~
  13. Hi everyone, Just trying to get an idea on how this case is, in all aspects. Doing a white build and was having difficulty choosing a case. Any information is appreciated! Thanks All! ~tropton~

  18. I'm a bit of an audiophile, but though of spending that money on a soundboard or headphones just makes me sleepy. Maybe an effects processor or something? I don't know. That's part of the problem...when it comes to spending money on myself, I find it very hard to pull the trigger.
  19. Just built a rig for a friend to actually! That's a good idea tho! I have plenty of friend that are in need of an upgrade!
  20. I'm 35. Plenty old enough to know when money is free for spending rather than saving.
