  1. I tried a few different things last night. I played dying light settings maxed display crashed in around 20 minutes after sitting at 47C for a bit. After that i shut G-sync off and loaded the game again this time i was able to play for almost 2 hours before the card hit 50C and the display crashed. Aside from not having a thermal camera to test the actual heat levels of specific parts of the card it still crashes after the card hits the 45-50 range. If i drop graphics to low enough that the card never hits that threshold i can game for 6-7 hours or run benchmarks with no crashes. That's my only indication that its heat related in some way. As I stated before I had this issue in the same fashion when it was stock and then even after putting the pads on the back with liquid cooler. My only dilemma is that because I liquid cooled I technically voided the warranty which is why I am trying to see if anyone else had this issue even after adding the pads. I don't want to be out 700$ but its looking like It will be that way. Thank you to everyone that replied initially!
  2. I am fairly certain Luke did a video on this topic a month or so ago and concluded that it didn't really change if you had a 400 watt or up to a 1600. As long as you atleast meet the min you are good
  3. The reason i contacted them was because they offered them and also because it included the pads for the back of the power delivery also i though perhaps that was the issue in part. I've had the issue on air before i got the cooler. I think it is a bad card because I've tried to other 1080s and 2 other motherboards and had the same issue.
  4. I did have supporting facts. Any game or benchmark i run in once the card hits around 45-50 degrees C the display goes blank and stops responding. I have tried another 1080 from Asus and Gigabyte and had no issues on air or liquid. I have also tried my card in two other mother boards and the same issue occurs and has also occurred since before I got the liquid cooler setup
  5. I used the pads from EVGA for the backplate since it also said adding those to the back could aid in cooling. depending upon room temp in CAM i get idle temps from 18 - 22 C on the CPU max my card will hit under load is 50 and the display goes black and the card stops responding. I can still hear music playing through the headset and what ever game i was playing.
  6. Does that negatively effect anything though? Being fully modular it only puts out as much as I use per cables plugged in
  7. I did email them a bit ago. I was just interested in seeing if anyone else also had the issue still. Whats wrong with the PSU?
  8. LEPA G Series G1600-MA 1600W ATX12V I have not tried another PSU or OS but i have tried other 1080s and have not had the issue its only with the 1080
  9. Gigabyte G1 gaming z170 motherboard. Intel i7 6700k 2 - 8GB gskill DDR4 sticks for memory. 1600watt power supply Then the Evga ftw 1080 Previous components that the card had the same issue with Asus p9x79 motherboard Intel i7 3820 6 - 8 gb Corsair vengeance ddr3 sticks same 1600watt psu
  10. check next post I made. I actually have a custom loop for it
  11. I was having issues with overheating when i first got my 1080 ftw. I bought a custom water loop for it to see if that would fix the problem, it didn't. Then the issue about the lack of pads on the VRM came out and so i order the pads from them and installed them per instruction. I still continue to have issues with my card overheating and crashing, despite only seeing 45c max on the temp display in CAM. I have since then purchased a new motherboard and CPU and still continue to have the issue. I assume its overheating, i know its the card anyway. The display will go black and if i am playing a game or listening to music i can still hear it playing through. Sometimes the computer does just crash and shut off though but not as often
  12. Has anyone else who bought an EVGA FTW edition graphics card in the 10 series had any issues with overheating even after installing the new pads?
