So i had a question regarding corsair k70 mk 2 rgb cherry mx Red, if its compitable with Msi mystic light ?
Mystic light has support for K95 platinum and Strafe rgb, both from Corsair as listed on their website
--> https://www.msi.com/Landing/mystic-light-rgb-gaming-pc/compatible-products
So i was wondering if the K70 mk 2 is compitable as well ?
If someone with a msi motherboard and a K70 mk2 can test it out for me on mystic light that would be awesome.
I looked up some msi and corsair forums and there are people with issues where mystic light is hijacking their products so there is a chance it might work ?
If not i was thinking to buy the k70 rgb off amazon, test if it works, if not return it and get a Msi vigor gk80 (ik its a downgrade over the k70 but i was really looking to get a game sync)

Have you tried copying a large (Over 20G) file to and from the drive in order to check the speed? You can try to copy a file to and from RAM so that you get max transfer speed you can also create a dummy file with only 0 and 1 to check the speed. Or crystal disk like stormseeker9 says.
Its hovering in 50s shooting up to the 130s then going back down (MB/s)

So i built a pc about an year ago, worked fine since, but now m experiencing some issues with my ssd. The boot times are through the roof (5-10 mins), given the rest of my build, it shouldnt be the case.
Build --> https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/20504114
I have changed the sata cable, plugged it in a different port on the motherboard, tried a different power cable
Even used the Kingston SSD manager to check the drive's health and it looks fine.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

A cable would work as well.
Can you please take a look at this ?
Will this cable or something similar do ?

Geez, get an adapter for displayport to hdmi. If you use the connector on the motherboard, you're using the crappy integrated graphics and games will run terrible. They are all over the place, and you can get them from newegg or amazon for around $10.
You mentioned an adapter, can i just get a cable ? There are display port to hdmi cables available on amazon, just don't know if they are bidirectional or work one way

Get a DP to hdmi, however, if the monitor doesnt have DP, get a different monitor
will a display port to hdmi cable not work ? he's got a bit of an ocd so he'd like to get similar monitors

So i am making this post on behalf of a friend, he's new to the pcmr community and still not familiar with the ltt community.
He has a i7 7700k, rtx 2080 MSI gaming x trio, he's using a 27 inch Acer KG271 monitor.
Now the issue he is facing is that he plans to get another similar monitor for a dual monitor setup (i got him hooked on setup wars and he liked the multiple monitor setups)
the monitor only has a hdmi port, his graphics card has only 1 hdmi port and 4 display ports, so will display port (gpu) to HDMI (monitor) work ? Another option i suggested
was using the hdmi port on his motherboard, not sure if its as good as a direct output from the gpu though.
Basically what i or he wants to know is should he go with the hdmi output from his motherboard or get a display port to hdmi cable ?
Thanks in advance for the help

So i recently built a new computer its a ryzen 7 1700 windows 10 system, i have a old amd A8 laptop running windows 10 with a screen broken beyond repair, it still starts up when connected to a hdmi display and works normally.
The issue is the laptop has a 1tb hard drive with some data id like to have, i was wondering if i can transfer the hdd from the laptop to the pc without corrupting or loosing the data, the extra 1tb of space would be handy as mine only has 2tb and a 250gb ssd.

Do you also need peripherals like monitor, headset, keyboard etc?
Does OS have to be included?
Peripherals and os arent included

More cores will help with Editing. The 1600 is great because you get two extra cores and 12 threads, so for gaming/editing it is a great value. But like I said you can get a 1700 which when OC will perform better, and 2 extra cores/threads within your budget.
M worried about the mini tho, arent mini's in the middle ground between the 1060 n 1070 ? Or m i misguided ?

takes abt 7 hours to render a 30 mins vid

If your ok with a mini, which in my experience there is very little performance difference. The Zotac 1070 is on sale for $379. Then you can use the extra $100 you saved, buy a 1700 and a 350 combo
Apart from gaming i do plan to do some editing, i still edit some vids from my xbox one, 1080p 60fps using a really crappy A8 6410 n a Radeon HD8570 ;-;
So will that downgrade in the cpu affect that ?

So the only 3 components you need need are CPU, motherboard and graphics card right?
Yep, well the others r kinda purchased, a evga supernova 550 psu, a 1tb Wd hdd, 8gb Kingston Hyperx ram n everything put in a nzxt s340

But out of curiosity, what is your budget
About $760-780 for the cpu mobo n gpu.
The costs r as follows
ryzen 5 1600:- $210
B350 :- $100gtx 1070 :-$470
ryzen 7 1700 :-$290
X370 :-$140
gtx 1060 :-$330Again as i said, if there is a better combo i can go for pls lemme know
-
Don't think I will be running sli in this build
-
So let me make this clear before I start, my budget is not that flexible.
Is a downgrade from a ryzen 1700 with a X370 mobo to a ryzen 1600 with B350 mobo worth the upgrade from a GTX 1060 6gb to a GTX 1070 ?
Any other combination in the same cost with better results n performance is welcome

Just use the AMD mounting system that comes in the box, they havent switched the mounting
But y doesnt any pc building website doesnt acknowledges these coolers ?I mean i get it now tht the mounting and stuff is same. But what if someone brought the coolers and found out that it doest fit ?
-
So i already have a i7 7700k overclocked at 4.7ghz and a corsair h60 cooling it, at 22 degree Celsius room temp it manages to average out at 72. I was checking corsair's website and found this http://www.corsair.com/en-ww/hydro-series-h60-high-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler if you scroll down to Contents and Specs it says it supports AM4 sockets, so how does that works ? Do you need something else to mount it on ? Let say you build ur system on a Asrock X370 mobo, do you need something else to mount it on ? Coz i checked pc part picker, and when you turn compatibility filter on it doesnt shows any of these coolers.
-
So i was browsing Newegg and took a look at the Ryzen 1700,it comes with a Wraith Spire Cooler with RGB.
So i was wondering is the Wraith Spire cooler good enough for heavy use (Without OC of course), i.e lets say we couple it with a gtx 1080 and do 4k gaming on any AAA titles ,video editing/rendering etc. Or do you need a aftermarket cooler ? Coz a aftermarket cooler is something that one can get after building a pc if they decide they want
to OC their chip, at least thats how its been for intel till very recent.

How is the gtx1060 better bang for the buck
Yeah thats kind of the point the RX480 is $268 and the Gtx1060 is $270 for me, with a $10 delivery charge on both so the price is almost the same for both.My only concern is that i read somewhere that a radeon card doesnt gives 100% performance when paired with a intel chip. So is that a myth or is it true ? Also how much does it affect the performance if its true.

neither, i say go higher. if you have the money for a high end i7, im sure you can find the money for a 1070/1080 to pair with it
Well I dont, thts the problem, I need to save up for another 3-4 months to go for a 1070 -1080. The reason I need a beefier cpu is coz I do some coding too although ill use it mainly for gaming, recording n editing
GPU Driver (Display Driver) crash
in Graphics Cards
Posted
So i upgraded some stuff around my pc, namely vertical mounting the GPU with a cable mod kit, added some cable mod extension kits and my pc started crashing during gaming. Now i think that hasn't caused the issue, as i tried moving the gpu and cables while running games even stress tested the pc for over an hour using Aida 64 extreme without any issues, its only during gaming with maybe chrome or netflix running in the background.
Basically the crash makes the screen go blank, i can still hear the audio for a few seconds to a minute but then that stops as well, the pc however stays on. The crash is, i think something to do with the display driver ? The only fix i have found is to restart the pc, and this shows up after i do. I have done some digging online, reinstalled the gpu driver, but this keeps on happening for the last 3 months. But since im stuck at home isolation now i have much more time to spend on my pc and the issue keeps popping up every 1-2 hours. Any suggestions or solutions ? Any help is appreciated!
