oscar7601 reacted to Alan G in How to scan several pages into one PDF with Windows 10 software?
We have an HP Envy 5000 and the included HP scan software has an option to do this.  I would double check the documentation of the printer software to make sure this option is absent.  You cannot merge documents through Windows.

well up to 80 split offs on each and no more than 240 total but that would all be daisy chained stuff that would change all of the ones connected to a single one at once

oscar7601 got a reaction from StDragon in Leaving the Wifi router behind a monitor. Will it affect speeds and range?
Well... It could affect the range and speed if the metal inside the monitor interferes with the electromagnetic field created by your WiFi router. But that's just theory. I'd say unless you are really on the edge of losing connection to the router already in some parts of your home, this should not make a very big difference.

You can always test it yourself and see.  It's not hard to move it 2 feet one way, test and move it back and test?

It is clean, I have cleaned it quite recently. I have had thermal issues a while back, but then it fully crashed and after rebooting showed me that the CPU overheated. Don't know if this is particularly relevant in this case.

I would like to know for sure that it is the PSU before replacing anything(just like oscar said), since I am quite tight on money right now and dont want to waste any.

They made MX-3 too? I missed that one, although judging by the chart, it is best forgotten.

Interesting comments on the thickness and application, I found 2 to be easier to handle due to the increased thickness. Haven't had problem to clean either.

My thoughts are, you should stream it... Title of the stream: "Watch me brick my board!"

The chipsets are very different physically, and the BIOSes are never going to be compatible between chipsets. They only look the same to a user because they have effectively identical feature sets on those boards, but the chipset is still nowhere near compatible.

I've just put an 80mm fan on top of the tube to blow air on the VRMs of the bottom motherboard if you were wondering what that is. I'm designing a 3D-printed mount to have it mounted on the waterblock's screws.

oscar7601 reacted to 5x5 in Asus Caught Being Malicious - Zephyrus G15 has fan vents blocked by black paper. Reason Unknown
So recently, a few youtube channels and people on Reddit have taken to repasting their Zephyrus G15 models and have stumbled upon something very peculiar. The fan cut-outs for airflow are blocked by black paper for seemingly no reason. Asus have failed to give adequate reasoning as to why those covers exist as removing them yields a universal improvement to the laptop. Thermals go down by 5-10*C on both CPU and GPU and clockspeeds go up.

SPECULATION: The current hypothesis I've read here and on several other forums is that this is yet another bribe from Intel to make the mobile Ryzen 4000 look hot and bad. But that sounds a bit far fetched to me. While Intel have done VERY shady (and illegal things) in the past, we need more evidence to corroborate any such claims. Currently, it remains as Asus' retarded decision. But it's peculiar that this black paper has only appeared on the Zephyrus G15 and the older Ryzen 3750H-based GA502. The Zephyrus M and other Zephyrus models have all had open fan ventilation. This is the primary piece of evidence people have used to give credence to the Intel theory.

I welcome thoughts and opinions. @genexis_x and @LukeSavenije will have a fun time with this one I bet

Indeed..i mean thats what toothpaste is so ...

If it looks good when wet I would leave it at that, if u want it any better u'd need a buffing wheel ..or a lot of tedious rubbing with a cloth and abrasive. .be it toothpaste or proper polish.

Since u've used vinegar on it, make sure its very well rinsed. Not so much a problem with blocks, but when using vinegar in radiators for example its advisable to flush a, fully dissolved, baking soda solution through it to neutralize the vinegar.

oscar7601 reacted to SolarNova in Copper monobloc starts corroding after fluid swap
Bare copper blocks will tarnish over time. To get them looking 'good' again u'd have to polish it with an abrasive but understand as soon as u start using it it will again tarnish over time.

If i were in ur position I would probably grab my Dremmil with a small buffing wheel and go at it with some mild car polish.

EDIT: oh and fyi,, u need to let copper soak in vinegar for it to work, just rinsing it in vinegar and brushing wont do much.

3600x is 3600 + 200MHz (in the best situation) + stock cooler that isnt as weak but still limited, so I would just get the cheaper 3600

oscar7601 reacted to Escapenz in What cpu should I get
1600af would be a good cheap upgrade as its basically a 2600 but at $85, other wise a 3600 if in your budget would be great (double check your board will support it first and update it in need as well)
