You downgraded. The 2070 is faster, the 3060 is newer. if you wanted an improvement from a new card, youd be looking at buying a 3060 super or a 3070.

I cant think of why GPU sales would have an effect on webcams. If i had to guess, it would be in direct relation to a massive influx of people going to work from home and telecommuting.

That will probably be your best build for 1400. for gaming and rendering thats a pretty solid setup. However for the hard drive, go with at least a 7200 RPM. Later on down the road, If you really want a lot of storage add that 1TB nvme, i copped one and its pretty sweet. EDIT: Albeit, the price difference isnt massive with those two storage setups and going from a 5700rpm hdd to an nvme, i think id probably go with the nvme at this stage. its more expensive to add another nvme down the road on top of the preexisting nvme and hdd.

the 5400RPM drives run at 120-140MB/s
    7400RPM drives run at 140-170MB/s
    your SSD runs at 3000MB/s

That's why you noticed it being faster

    Look above

More powerful GPU, MUCH better power supply, more reliable hard drive and a quiet CPU cooler for the 3600 to use PBO and XFR2

Not 100% sure but im pretty sure blender is mostly CPU so if you can go for a 3700x, id try to go for that. the 3700x will always out-perform the 3600 no matter the card. DO you have a PC parts picker list? send that over if you do

im not too sure about the OC, but youll be able to update the bios and drivers without a UPS unless your power cuts off every 5 minutes or something. Like you shouldn't really worry about it unless youre already having problems

oh and an extra stick of ram, if you only have the 1 already, id add that too. but i dont reccomend intel stock coolers, so you should probably upgrade that too, but thatd be the 3rd thing, 1 paste 2 ram 3 cooler. especially if that cooler was working fine for you first, otherwise, maybe ram 3rd

Its probably the paste, if you do want to shell out a few extra bucks on a cooler while youre at it, going to something like a cooler master hyper 212 from an intel stock, will be a pretty good difference. wouldnt spend much more money than what that costs. make sure it fits as well, im not sure if it does, just something along those lines

All i see is you running above 140fps with ease. Clean the case and fans. Get some new paste. If you want more performance, get a new CPU and GPU combo

i mean, theoretically, if you push it back into place perfectly... i dont see why not right?🤣 extremely unlikely, but i kinda wanna have hope today. Like i said, im no pro, but isnt the more critical contacts in the middle? like who cares if it just chopped off a few sata ports lol, i have seen some pretty bad damage be revived before so.. i want to have hope, but have have no expectation. That motherboard legit do look revivable.. if done just right.

Agreed, Depending on budget though, the 1660S or ti does seem like itd be OK. if you can, shoot for the 2060s range. next step up that would actually be worth it would be the 2070S. itd work very well but, comes with a price. Also, take advantage of that dual channel memory. get another stick of ram in there. depending on titles, going from single channel to dual channel, you can see a 40fps difference (in some testing of course) but thats in GTA. like definitely get another stick of ram in there.

Most likely toast, but could still work while losing something (e.g. no back panel USB, less PCIe lanes, only 1 memory channel left etc

well, as far as i know, shes toast. However, if you can try it on a differnt motherboard, you might have a chance. Im no pro, but it could still work, not each contact has an actual use and given that theres only a few pins, on the very corner, id give it a shot. wouldn't keep expectations high though.
