    Ouch, that looks like a killer.

     
    Reminds me of when I purchased the only cooler on the entire website to come without a universal fitting bracket... and had to buy a second cooler (gave the original to a friend)
     
    A top vent/fan on the case could help airflow. It's gonna be a bit of a problem anyway, either way.
     
    PS, the thread with that picture on hardforum.com also mentions Coolermaster made a nice new magic adapter!
    So ask them if they can send one!

    Oh, only in "killing your fun".
     
    It could be ok like that... but I would get the adapter if you can.

    The performance difference is negligible, stuff you could only see on synthetic benchmarks after you overclock both the 1600 and 1600x therefore yes you will cheap up a good 60ish dollars and end up with the same thing on your hand, with less hassle of installing custom coolers.

    Whelp I guess I'll have to wait another 2 months to be able to afford all that
    Didn't expect the necessary Motherboard and RAM upgrade as well. I thought it was as simple as slapping a new cpu in there.
