  1. So I'm currently editing on a laptop (i5 5200u 2C/4T 2.20 GHz) and as you can probably imagine, video editing is pretty laggy for me (720p) I'm wondering how laggy editing would be on different desktop CPUs - most online sources couldn't be bothered enough and only include render times, but I think smooth editing is more important than render times. I know that "7" lineups are "best" for editing and you should "invest" in them, but Imma do some research first. So has anyone edited on relatively low end CPUs like i3s or even i5s? I want to know how the process goes. I've tried 2 CPUs (Hitfilm editing). i5 5200u has medium/high lag, and i3 4130 is medium/low lag (1080p, both without dedicated GPUs).
  2. Would you be dumb enough to buy it?
  3. So if I were start a company and produce cheap chips called "7700k" would I get fined/sued/put to jail? It's just a model number.
  4. Okay, I was inspired by laptop cpus
  5. How about thicker layer of thermal paste or a penny in between? I know this is unnecessary.
  6. I ignored the "it would work" part sorry
  7. Your answer's pretty pointless and stupid.
  8. Anyone tried this? No IHS? Does it work? (Not saying I'M going to do it, just asking)
  9. I want a high performance cpu, but I'm not a big fan of overclocking (requires good mobo and cooling and stress testing). I know that there is the i7 non-k and the xeon - is there any other options? Or would it be worth it to buy an overclockable cpu without actually overclocking like the Ryzen 1700?
  10. I just want to know about other people
