Yeah well, most shrinks are patients themselves.

Yes, you can find a plethora of subjective opinions on the internet to confirm that theory. Which is called https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias
    Doesn't make it objectively true.

I already answered that, they've bought into that line of thinking either financially or mentally. If you pressure people on this you will find a lot of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance

As opposed to? I'm sure they will be fine. They're open-backed headphones which should provide plenty of immersion and soundstage.

Just gave you a few extra, but it's funny how you supposedly know all about it, yet can't recognize it on yourself. A little bit of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection perhaps? : ')

Glad you did, plenty of people fall for the snake oil these audiofiles put out. Can't say with honesty I never fell for it at times, but I luckily found the error of my ways way before I spent any real money on it.

Even with my 13-23khz soundrange (which is well above ideal), this still mostly boils down to your brain fucking with you. If you start focussing on things, you might perceive to hear something that was probably already there. SSL has a nice link in his signature.

I got a seperate setup because of EMI issues on my ITX setup (everything is cramped), and K612's which are suprisingly hard to drive (aswell as my P7's requiring 22/8 = <3 ohm of output impedance). I can't hear any real difference between my phone, PC onboard or DAC in terms of sound signature or sound quality. I've never done an ABX test, but i'm sure i'd fail it.

Yes it's a really, really good amp. But you also don't need it.

It probably has a lower output impedance than your onboard, also delivers more power and adds (for some important) a volume knob for your audio.
You buy audio gear mostly on specs or necessity. You should try to leave subjectivity out of the loop (no pun intented).

The only people what would need those extra phases are people doing ln2/extreme overclocking. for normal people its a gimmick that never comes into play. I found a whole bunch of boards with 6+ rear usb, some with type c then mixed levels of onboard usb for front panel. All of them are around 200 or less, theres a lot of boards so i stopped looking once i got to the $200 mark since its alot of work.

I think that would pull around 500 watts full load SLI but add a few hundred watts, I am running 980Ti sli and full load is just over 600 watt at times.
Corsair i series lets you control the fan and look at wattage loads FYI

    750-850w.
EVGA B2 is a good value at that wattage and it's still a good PSU.

Is your CPU hitting 100%? If it is, that is your bottleneck.

don't upgrade, not worth it, you can squeeze few more month to a year worth of performance. the 8800k would be a good upgrade next year or the x99 platform 5820k will be a huge upgrade this year.

If you are still playing all the games you want to just fine, then don't upgrade yet.
Wait and see what AMD brings, and then in turn what intel will bring after that.

When you do end up upgrading, I would recommend at looking at something with 8 threads (i7) instead of an i5 because core count is finally beginning to matter for gaming, and I am sure that it will start becoming even more important over the next while.

Overall. I wanted to thank you guys , I appreciate the quick responses. Look forward to getting to know this community better. At the end I believe this old baby still kicks ass. And so I'll let it fight for one last year. I will wait until Cannon lake 8TH Gen I believe. Graphics card I'll  wait for new series and going for 70's line or perhaps  SLi we will see ! thank you for all the comments thumbs up !

I'd say wait for AMD's new stuff coming out in a month or so, they're likely to release new CPUs competitive in both speed and price.
Though, I doubt you actually need an upgrade any time soon with that set up.
