Good evening everyone, What OS would be great for a setup like this. Just recently acquired a proliant dl380 g5 but im having a hard time with the operating system.

I got it cheap at a government surplus but they take out the SAS drives. I just want to replicate linus' 8 core dual xeon build and I would like to ask some help for it.

Just got a server rig last week and the specs looks promising. Dual Xeon x5460 @ 3.16 ghz 64 gb 8x8 ddr2 fb dimm ram Just need to run windows on it. What would be a good version to run it with except the server OS because its so expensive. I'm looking to run it with an RX480 by next month. Inputs would be greatly appreciated.

I do have the windows 7 ultimate to support the dual processors. I just need to stabilize the system and I'm having a hard time doing it. Do you think I'd rather get windows 10 for it instead?

Good Day to everyone, I just got a used DL380 G5 last week. I installed windows 7 on it as i've read they are almost the same as windows 2008 R2. But my problem right now is it keeps on getting the blue screen and saying the hardware is not supported. Is there any way to install all the drivers on the windows 7 OS to make the system stable as I would like to use it as a project gaming pc. All inputs would be very much appreciated as I'm lost in this project. Thank you very much.
