  1. Nope, it doesn't charge when turned off either. And great! I'll check that out
  2. Hi all! I recently got a new Bravo 15 and for the first few days all was fine. However 2 days ago I noticed that despite not using battery power lately, the power dropped to 99% while plugged in. It shows as charging, and changes power settings back to plugged in so it's recognizing that. I discharged last night down to 95% and plugged it back in, but in the last 12 hours it is still "charging" at 95%. It seems to drop a percentage every other day or so. I tried a different outlet, made sure the charger isn't dinged somewhere, and still have these issues. Is there anything I can do? Is there a program/application that I can download that can show me the wattage the power adapter is using compared to what the battery normally would discharge? This problem isn't huge right now, but it basically means right now I can't take it anywhere on battery as I won't be able to get that power back via charging.
  3. Okay. Just curious as I will want to be able to take advantage of it with my next GPU.
  4. Does Intel 12th gen have PCI-E gen 5 comparable to what Zen 4 will provide?
  5. Budget (including currency): ? Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming only Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Upgrading from Z270 with intel i5-7600k. Good CPU, but the 4 cores are starting to show their age. I'm not looking to upgrade my GTX 1080 right now as FSR has helped with most games I play (1440p120 mostly on my Samsung 65" 4KTV) and would like to see what happens when 4000 series comes out- either great value of those cards, or pushing the prices of 3000 series down). Was planning on waiting for Zen 4, but then did some looking and the 12th gen Intel look great- especially the i5-12600k which has the 6 performance cores + 4 efficiency. Read that this is a fantastic gaming chip but not sure if waiting until who knows when for Zen 4 would be of any advantage to me, especially since a 12600k can be had for ~$280.
  6. I was just thinking that in a few years if I have an upgraded GPU, that I could just drop the next AMD chip architecture in (9000 or whatever they name it) and keeping the mobo (as long as I didn't get a cruddy one).
  7. So it might be better to hold off for now to go AM5? I honestly just don't to be stuck where I am now, where I have zero upgrade path! I've been "frozen" for a couple years now, so I can be patient- but I just know with Prime day it can be a decent time to grab some non-GPU pieces on sale- but I can certainly wait a few months if many of you recommend that.
  8. Budget (including currency): ? Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Only gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Currently have a new Samsung 65" 4K120hz tv that I use to game with my GTX 1080. At this time I'm fine with keeping the 1080 until the new 4000 series push the 3000 series prices down, so I have no issues playing games at 1080p120hz (or close to 120hz) with FSR right now until I can get a beastly card. Have a 1GB m.2 so I'm fine on storage right now, and have 16GB DDR-3200 which should be fine (I think?) since I do no video editing/streaming/photoshop. I am wanting to switch over to AMD as they seem to be a bit more flexible when it comes to supporting mobo sockets. My current 2017 build has a i5-7600k, which is okay, but the mobo I purchased means that I can't upgrade due to the socket not being the second version of LGA 1151- so no upgrade path there. I was looking at the Ryzen 7 5800X on Amazon for prime day, as it's currently at $275. I'd like to get a mobo with this that I could know that in 3 years I could upgrade the CPU using the same mobo. Does anyone have any suggestions for the mobo, and also is it true that AMD does a better job with longer term chipset support? Also, while I don't have a set budget since the GPU is still an unknown for the future, I'd be looking for something solid like a 3070 down the road, but I don't need a high end card like a 3080ti or 3090.
  9. You're right- I had gotten confused! The issue isn't GPU it's CPU. I currently have a 7600K which isn't good enough anymore given the core count it has. I had previously wanted to upgrade but my board is LGA 1151 version 1- so while I can get a 3000 series, it would be bottlenecked and wasted by the older CPU since I can't plop any newer CPU's in that require the version 2 socket, so the best I was told was 2070ish to pair with the board.
  10. You're right. Ugh. I'd have to downgrade my card to a 16xx series to get that, which obviously I wouldn't be able to run 4k120 anyway . Guess I'll have to wait until I can build a new computer as the mobo I currently have is too old to run 30xx series cards and buying a used 20xx card would be a bit of a waste of money. Thank you for all the help!!
  11. I THINK this would work but I want to make sure! https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-ULT-WIIQ-Support-Dynamic-Graphics/dp/B098XN9GPB/ref=sr_1_3?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_P074X7JANAN3Q0ARDG85
  12. I didn't even think of an adapter! So, something like this will give me the ability to run 4k120 with HDR? Do you have an adapter recommendation?
  13. Found the issue. HDR at 4k120 isn't available for GTX10 series (I have 1080).
  14. I don't see that option on my TV. But I got a new HDMI cord and I can use HDR- just not at 120hz. It's either 4K60 HDR or 4K120 standard. Oh well.
