  1. I thought it was possible to attatch another set of lithium ion cells to the battery controller thereby allowing the battery to be upgraded
  2. Hi all I'm trying to upgrade the 51Wh battery pack in my GE72MVR to a much larger pack as the current battery life of 90mins while using word an low intensity stuff is just too poor. I know this is possible but can't find any decent guide to do it (for any laptop not just for my specirfic case). I have also heard of extra batteries which fit a 2.5" drive slot but I can't find them anywhere. Any advise or links would be highly appreciated Thanks
  3. I would go for zealios 65g, I have just changed to them from cherry mx browns and I am loving them, I like how they have a slightly higher actuation force and a larger tactile bump, but do not have the annoying clicky sound of cherry mx blues (I know some people like that sound but personally I cannot stand it). They are also a lot smoother than cherry mx switches - at least the browns, which is the closest point of comparison I have tried. The feel is similar to that of a lubed switch except that they retain the pleasant tactile bump
  4. the problem is there is a £8 + 20% import tax in the uk so once you factor that in the prices of stuff on massdrop are pretty crappy in the uk
  5. Hi all I am looking for a good pair of earbuds to use on the go I have a maximum budget of £80 and am looking for good sound quality, with a focus on video, I would also appreciate a detachable cable as my senheisser mm70i's broke because of the cable while both earbuds were still working fine. I would also appreciate it if they came with a decent carry pouch but I don't see that as a 'must' Other than that I am open to suggestions, although they must be available in the UK Many thanks, Adam
  6. Hi all I have recently begun to experience frequent microstutters in online games, although I only have a single player campaign in battlefield 1 I have tested this exhaustively and have found no instances of micro stutter in the game. However, in battlefield 1 and PUBG I have experienced micro stutters when running or walking in which I am set around one quarter of a second back from where I was when the micro stutter occurred, at a complete standstill, this happens every 2 seconds on average, but it fluctuates with the longest intervals being ~5 seconds and the shortest being ~2 times per second, however, curiously this has not happened in vehicles or when standing still even though in one match I drove a pickup for ~5 minutes. However, I am still certain that this issue is an issue with my networking as it has only happened in online modes. As mentioned this issue was also present in battlefield 1, except for in the single player campaign, however, I did not test this as extensively. Note, I am running two separate power line adapter systems in my house, however, they are both encrypted and therefore should not interfere with each other, I have been using this setup for a little under a month and other than some issues in setup it has not had any issues up to this point
  7. yes my ram is in the right slots and my ram is compattable
  8. I just tried that and it didn't work, I have also tried just setting everything other than the clock speed to auto
  9. Hi all I am attempting to overclock my ryzen 5 1600 to 3.7ghz with the settings seen in the below screenshots, after each attempt to implement the overclock the DRAM voltages revert to the red settings seen in 1.Jpg and I lose my DRAM overclock until I set them to auto again, can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong and why I cannot achieve the overclock NOTE although it says in the bios that the cpu is at 3700mhz task manager, msi afterburner and ryzen master say it is at 3200mhz and there is no performance uplift therefore I would go with the 3200mhz speed
  10. Hi guys I am trying to find the tdp of the cooler on msi's 1080ti gaming x trio but I cannot find it anywhere can anyone refer me to a link please, thanks
  11. this is a screenshot of the fan curbve and an example of the low gpu usage
  12. Note I am using a gtx 1080ti gaming x trio and a ryzen 5 1600 to play player unknown's battlegrounds, I am playing on a 2560 x 1440p panel set to a refresh rate of 100hz, before anyone mentions that this the ryzen 5 is too slow and is not well utilized in PUBG I checked across a 2hr test and the usage of any one core was not greater than 95% at any point even when the refresh rate was at 125hz I am also playing PUBG with all settings at 'high' note this is a 2 month old PC running windows 10 pro 64bit Hi all I have encountered an unusual bug in PUBG, I am experiencing periodic changes in the usage and clock speed of my GPU which seem to be repetitive. The bug is as follows when gaming the gpu usage and speed seems to remain at the following settings for roughly equal amounts of time 2000mhz and >95% usage 1700mhz and ~80% usage 1500mhz and ~60% usage (far less common) 1300mhz and ~ 40% usage I cannot explain why these settings are fluctuating like this does anybody have any idea what might be causing them and this issue is exclusive to PUBG as far as I can tell (however the only other game I am currently playing is Battlefield 1) There is also a separate issue with the gpu (the precise model is the msi geforce gtx1080ti gaming trio), which is an irregularity in fan speed. I currently have the following fan curve points programmed into msi afterburner for this GPU 0 - 65oC - fans off 65 - 72oC fans increasing in speed to 15% 72 - 78oC fan speed increasing to 30% 78 - 80oC fan speed increasing to 35% 80 - 82oC fan speed increasing to 40% (I know this is a slow fan curve but this is a gpu designed for low noise and has 3 * 100mm fans and a massive heat sink on it) however despite this fan curve is implemented in msi afterburner and is actually reported by the app, the actual fan speed is significantly different as described below when the system is turned on the fans seem to be on a speed of around 30 - 40% speed at all times and when gaming this increases to a speed of ~80 - 90% which remains regardless of weather the system is gaming or not until the system is resarted according to msi afterburner the card is at almost exactly room temperature when not gaming and around 40 - 50oC when gaming the only other detail I can include is that it takes around 2 minutes between starting a game and the gpu fan speeds increasing (which tech deals commented about in his video on the card, however he did not have the high fan speed issues like I have had) noise mentioned at 2min 27sec into the video in this test a noise measurer was placed right next to the graphics card and reported a reading of 35.5db after 20min at load while it is inside my NZXT s 340 elite case the decible app on my phone is reporting a reading of 50db from 1m away (I know this wont be completely accurate but it gives an idea of the extent of the problem)
  13. I am not running it hot It is staying around 60oC under load using the current cooling (by load I mean playing battlefield 1 at 100hz)
