How many people really buy movies anymore? I personally don't see the point. Want to watch it again? Rent it. The chances that you'll want to watch it more times than the cost difference is, is pretty low. Plus with services like Netflix, there's always movies to watch on there. Really love it? There's other places you can go to get a copy.

If I had to choose between those, probably the F150. The Cybertruck is just...a little too jarring to look at.

One thing I hate about a lot of the newer EV marketing is how they're pushing wheel torque numbers instead of engine torque. So a lot of people are blown away by the 11,500 ft lb number in the marketing not realizing that it really only has 1,000 ft lbs by what every other manufacturer uses. Which is still an awfully impressive number so why deceive like that?

I wonder how towing will affect battery life, not to mention health. Things get reeeeal hot when towing.

Fleet sales help massively with that. I've always thought Elon should be targeting that market. The US Government has deep pockets, and more and more cities are moving their fleets over to electric. Just make a box on wheels. Doesn't have to be pretty, and he can clearly make it cheap.
Not everything. While some things are certainly more advanced, their self driving tech is starting to be outpaced, and it's only a matter of time before the big players start beating them in a multitude of other areas. Certainly not 10 years.

The charging network is a fair point but we're only 11 months away from Electrify America having the same number of stations as Tesla, and let's be real; 98% of the time you'll be charging at home.
The Hummer is sick. I hope they make a smaller pickup as well.

It's only a matter of time before the big players surpass Tesla. They've done a great job at getting the word out and popularity up, but it's not like Tesla has magical engineers no one else does. From what most people are saying Chevrolet's self driving tech (on the roads it's approved for) is actually better than Tesla's. Tick tock Musk. Better get those cars out.

You'd probably want to look up distributors if you're looking to resell it, otherwise you're going to be paying a markup on top of what the person you're buying from paid.

    @BlueChinchillaEatingDorito @piratemonkey
Buying things like concentrates and syrups is pretty common on eBay. It's a marketplace, just like any other.
I've also bought quite a few food items that are simply unavailable in my country.
As with anything, if you do your research and you're careful, it's perfectly fine.

dizmo got a reaction from TheDailyProcrastinator in Blocking YouTube, here is why.
I see a lot of issues with what you've put forth.
Why warn people? Seems confrontational. How are they supposed to find issues normal users will have? When it comes to GPUs, some issues are down to the certain game the person is playing, or other parts in their system. It's an incredibly hard thing to replicate. Some YouTuber's do test cards later on. GamersNexus will occasionally have roundups of older parts. Why don't they do this often? It doesn't make them money. Why doesn't it make them money? There simply isn't that much interest. There's absolutely nothing dishonest about their reviews. Just because they don't do it the way you want it done, doesn't make it dishonest. Their reviews, on launch, are incredibly useful. They show what the card is capable of when it isn't bottle necked. That's why they use top tier systems. Do you expect them to go through, and test with every CPU? Have you any idea how incredibly time consuming that would be? Did you buy a Founders Edition card? If not, then the problem isn't even Nvidia's, it's the company that produced the card. Not the same thing. What exactly is a benchmark a few months later going to do? It's going to test the exact same as it did before, because it's going to be using the exact same test bench. Sure, you might have different drivers, but if you're running the same benchmarks you did the first time, the chances of it changing are pretty slim unless they've specifically optimized for that title. YouTubers talk about issues cards had all the time. That's why, much to AMD fanbois chagrin, their failures with drivers is brought up time and again, or any other numerous issue that has plagued a specific GPU. There will always be the odd outlier, maybe 30 or 40 people have issues with early production cards and it doesn't get touched on too much. That's because it touches a very, very small percentage of actual users, and is usually fixed. If someone buys something and it's not supported in their system, that's entirely on them. It's always up to the purchaser to do their due diligence when it comes to research. No one is responsible for holding their hand. Forums aren't going to be a great place to get performance metrics. Chances of finding someone that's done the exact same thing, in the exact same game between different cards is unlikely, so the numbers are really quite baseless. How do you plan to do research with performance if you don't watch reviews? You do realize that print publications do the exact same thing, right?
You seem to be basing your decision entirely off a single bad experience, which is a very asinine way to look at it.

Honestly looks wise, I'd choose the new Hummer EV - it looks modern, but with enough edge and uniqueness to it to make it still stand out.

The Cybertruck looks awesome on paper - and Tesla has a track record of delivering (eventually) - but it just looks so dumb. And you would only need to make a few small alterations to make it look less dumb.

Electric F-150? I don't know. It ticks a lot of the right boxes, but we'll see how it actually turns out. Tech wise the Cybertruck is probably miles ahead, especially for the Powertrain (has anyone caught up to Tesla's powertrain tech yet?).

You're the only person that can figure out how much storage you should be getting, as you're the only person who's going to know what you're entire game library is like and how much extra stuff you plan to store on it. Go through, do the calculation, factor in some extra for future games (using the assumption that they too will be high in storage requirements, if you're going for AAA titles) and buy that.

Movies should really be stored on an HDD, as they don't even really benefit from even SSD storage.

dizmo reacted to Nickathom in 3070 Vs. 6800 @1080p
Realistically, with a GTX 1080 and at 1080p, you dont really need to upgrade as your performance is still more than good enough. Additionally, there are only 1 or 2 games that use more than 8 gigabytes of VRAM at 4k, at 1080p there are practically none. So unless you also intend to upgrade your display to a higher resolution, what you should be focusing on is what the cards offer other than raw performance, because as previously stated, at 1080p these cards are never going to be fully utilized.

If you ask me, it depends on how long you intend to keep the card and whether or not you want to upgrade your monitor. the 3070 is probably a percent or so slower than the 6800 and has less VRAM, but has DLSS and likely significantly better raytracing. If AMD had a proper DLSS competitor, they would have discussed it in great detail.

If you don't intend on upgrading your monitor soon and only want to keep the card for a generation or two, I would get the 3070. The extra VRAM won't help you and im sure youll appreciate some of the Nvidia exclusive features such as their low latency mode, rtx voice, etc..

If you want to keep the card for several years and intend on upgrading your monitor, I'd buy the 6800 for the extra VRAM.

Aaaaaaand this is why AMD is in such a poor financial position, among many other missteps. There's absolutely no reason to do this. I mean, I find most of their merch lineup pretty stupid, but this definitely takes the cake. Not only that, it's an incredibly bad product for the price.

Training wheels. But you'll have to get them to send out a replacement set, a couple times, as they tweak it to make it work properly.

So you're not building any time soon? If not, then I'd just wait and see what's available when you're ready to build.
As for the build you have, you'll run out of space pretty quickly if you play more than a few games on a 1TB drive.
I'd also probably get a different monitor, but it's not a terrible choice. You're not too far off a nice ultrawide monitor at that price.
You can get Windows off Reddit, use the money saved to get nicer speakers like a pair of Mackie CR3s.

I wouldn't bother accelerating the HDD. Certainly not with an NVME drive. If anything, just throw a small SATA drive on it. You'll get more out of a larger SSD for games.
The PSU powers your entire system. Cheaping out on it isn't a smart idea.

Why would you get a 2080Ti? You either have a reduced or no warranty at all, and the same performance.
If you stream at all I'd go with Nvidia. Their Broadcast software is really quite something. Plus AMD likely won't release AIB cards for quite a while.

The 3070 Super likely won't come out for another year. If you can wait that long, I wouldn't even bother thinking about buying now.

Well the implication of your theory is that they somehow managed to miss a bug so big that they need an extra 3 weeks to fix it which is laughable.

Either they lied about the game being in gold status to begin with or they're stalling.

Like I said earlier, the issue isn't the delay, in fact I'd rather they delay if they do still have issues. The issue is that they said the game was ready for release and promised no more delays. It reeks of them stalling.
