Honestly, I wouldn't bother. Especially with the hardware that you're talking about. It wouldn't be of any real use to them, and would more than likely take up valuable shelf space. I mean, it's definitely a nice thought, just not something I think is worth doing.

dizmo reacted to porina in Is there any need for greater than a 5600x for gaming?
While 5600X will be a bit of an upgrade, IMO it isn't enough in itself to be worth the effort and risk of doing. CPU heavy games are still relatively rare but going up to an 8 core will probably be all you need for the rest of the life of that platform. 5800X is not a need by any means, but at least it'll give a bigger jump from a 3600X.

They don't have a monopoly, there are other providers.
However, I think that, since this has happened twice, the Canadian government needs to step in and find a different solution, especially in the banking sector.
Having people unable to access their money is unacceptable.

Could be, but you'll always have a bottleneck somewhere in your system.
    Have you OC'd your CPU?
Did they OC their card or CPU?
    RAM speeds different?
    Different drivers?
Lots of things can change performance.

I think Dizmo has them as 2 separate statements.

    1: didn't like 6700XT for some reason
2: The CPU cooler OP chose is some small noname "Veetro" and not big name hitters like Noctua, Deepcool or be quiet!

I also got confused the first time, like Powercolour is big and even Buildzoid and Debauer have all but glowing reviews about the Red Devil's.

3060 Tis don't support SLI (multi GPU in game), and even if they did SLI is dead. Only benchmarks support multi GPUs at this point.

    Just get a 3080.

Not bad. I wasn't a fan of my 6700XT, though.
I don't recognize the cooler, but I'd probably look at spending just a little more and getting one of the established heavy hitters.
    I'd also get a Z series motherboard.
Worth noting that not having integrated graphics can make it significantly harder to diagnose potential issues.

It seems like you got kind of confused and copied and pasted the same stuff both here and in the thread about the recent LTT budget PC videos. I'm going to assume your comments about the RX 6600 weren't actually meant to be posted here.

Your choice of case means you are locked in to a mini-ITX board and SFX power supply, which is a fairly serious oof on your limited budget. It's really not feasible to make a viable small form factor PC for your planned usage for such a small amount. Even cutting corners on things like storage, we'll be close to $500 without a graphics card:

(Note the Z690 board is here because it's actually cheaper than the few mini-ITX B660 boards available.)

You would still need to spend ~$200 on top of this on a used GPU like a GTX 2060, 5600 XT, etc. to have a decent experience in the games you want to play.

So my recommendation is: either return your tiny case and gain access to the savings that comes with more mainstream components, or expand your budget.

Pushing limits like that usually leads to a very annoying time.

Check the fan curve settings in EVGA software, they may be set to a zero rpm mode if that's supported.

Just be aware that on 3 pin headers you lose the PWM portion, I suspect as they are not connected to the AIO that is why they don't show up at present.

    In reference to the splitter.

Assuming you mean like that above. Two fans into one splitter. One of the female ends has 4 pins but the other has 3 pins. 2 fans sending information back to the same motherboard header causes issues. The splitter uses the RPM signal of the 4 pin fan and assumes they're both the same speed. You'll get one speed signal from the header on the motherboard, but both fans will be at the same speed provided they're the same fans.
As for why they won't work with the CLC, the manual is awfully bare and gives no real hints. Seems like people have complaints with the software as well.

dizmo reacted to Middcore in Is this cpu used?
If you bought it as new from Amazon then all of your warranty protections would apply, and CPU's very rarely die, so I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.
