I'd do a fresh install of Windows. It's not hard, doesn't really take that much time, and makes sure you won't have as many issues.

You clearly have no grasp of how much it actually costs to bring products to market, especially in small batches.
Perhaps you should educate yourself a little more before spouting disinformation.

dizmo got a reaction from Kilrah in Confused about SSD Lifespan
On top of what @YoungBlade said, lifespan is a broad term. It's not like it's going to die when you surpass it's "lifespan"...that's just what the company tested, and had the most number of units survive. Loads of drives are capable far into the PB range of writes, so I really wouldn't be worried about lifespan on an SSD at all, unless you're buying very sketchy, or very old drives.

You need to quote or tag people, otherwise they won't see that you've replied to their posts.

Used is usually the way to go if you have a tight budget (or enjoy the challenge), but the 11400F is still quite an old CPU; I would expect it to be less than what the seller is asking. Have you checked what's available on eBay?
Don't quote US pricing though, as it's irrelevant to him.

Are you buying used? That CPU is quite old at this point, and I wouldn't be buying it new.
It'd probably be best if you listed the site you're buying from.

dizmo got a reaction from HighQ_LowZ in Hardware Unboxed Goes on Twitter Rant in Response to LTT Labs Potshots
The Hardware Unboxed response is far from unprofessional; if someone starts taking shots at your entire business model (they mostly do reviews; if the reliability is in question, so is their livelihood) they have every right to go off on Twitter. If we wanted to be more serious about it, comments like that in a public setting could probably also be considered slander and LTT could face legal action. Interestingly defamation can also carry criminal charges leading to jail time.

LTT has time and time again had incorrect information in their reviews, or their review data is so mediocre that most people don't pay attention to it. It's not a secret that LTT is more of an entertainment channel and less of an informative channel.

IMO they really need to do better.

Just put it in the car, on the floor behind one of the seats. Depending on the size of the case it should be more than secure enough.
People really overthink moving a PC around, it's not as fragile as you think.

Where I work they expire, they do not carry forward. As for personal worry, a few days off here or there won't affect me monitarily, and if it's something more serious that's what disability INSURANCE is for.

Taking accumulated sick days at the end of your career is no different then taking them any other time, and in fact can be far worse depending on how many you accumulate; BC Hydro had a number of people close to retirement take 3 years of banked time off at the end of their careeer. They weren't allowed to hire replacements, as they were still technically on payroll. It caused a far worse situation than taking a few days off here and there.

Bringing entitled by using the days I'm entitled to? What a joke.
