Market cap doesn't relate to how much it would cost to build and operate a leading edge fab facility ground up. TSMC doesn't recoup cost of a new fab technology line in one year nor do they build a new building for one every year either etc etc.

TSMC company value is a better thing to look at as that includes both cash assets and physical assets, their value being $16.75 trillion.

    And from their Quarterly report:
    Property, Plant and Equipment  $3,132,664
    Total Assets  $5,484,556

TSMC also has long term existence benefit, much of the company and assets were built and obtained when things were cheaper and in places that were or are still cheaper. They will also not be trying to maximize certain things like land value on the books unless they have some future intention to sell, lower valuations can be better, can be worse too.

Either way to make another "TSMC" come in to existence today it will cost more than 5 trillion dollars, how much more depends on where you want to do it as well. So as crazy as it sounds 7 trillion dollars won't create a new fab company with the same capabilities and production capacities as TSMC.

What I don't agree with is needing to go this big from the get go. Guarantee actually getting chip fabrication going with be fraught with problems, delays and years of fine tuning so why waste 7 trillion on things that will be out of date by the time they are properly operational to their maximum capabilities.

    Lol no.
No to MLID being reliable leaker and no to "the project changed" being a good excuse to why he get so many things wrong. The reason he get so many things wrong is because he makes stuff up and sometimes he is right, but a lot of times he is wrong.

A lot of things he has gotten wrong (and then deleted the videos because that's what he do when he's very wrong) have been for things that can't just be changed willy nilly. Prices and such can absolutely change, but major architectural functions and features doesn't just get added, removed or changed a few months before launch.

I think a lot of people have the desire but not the ability. For example this group has programing knowledge, clearly the tools required with the mechanical eptitude, and one owns a bar, so they're good with money and likely have some to spare for the cause. Their friend is also the one affected. Seems like everything lined up.

I don't see anything wrong with making an example out of someone in the current "It's just a prank bro" mind set. "It's just a (prank, joke etc.)" has people thinking they can just slap that on anything and become immune to getting in trouble.
Which I'm fine with. If he was joking, it was a joke in very poor taste. I don't see how people can even begin to think that's funny. Don't charge him for terrorism, but charge him for the disturbance he caused, and then charge him for it.

It's been done in the US before with school shooting "jokes". They're not funny. I'm all for holding people accountable for their actions. Spain not looking at giving terrorism charges or a jail term is a great way to teach that this isn't funny and won't be put up with. I've seen people get put on the no fly list for less.

I think this can be boiled down to:
You didn't give them any money, so they don't owe you any support. You are not their customer.

It's common sense that you won't have coverage if you buy items used. You got a deal, and anything that happens after that is on you, not the manufacturer.

It's unfortunate that it bricked your mouse, but that's why there's a warranty. Shit happens. It's not like it's a widespread issue. If it was, and every mouse was bricking, then perhaps you'd have more of a leg to stand on.

you just need to decide if you want to receive goods and pay what the customs is asking you, and deal with customer support after
or you don't want to pay the price and return the package. but then you want get your goods.

Looks like they invoiced it for the regular price and not the price you paid. The only real way around this is for them to reimburse you the difference, or pay all the extra shipping costs to get it back to them.

I think country of origin is where it was manufactured, and not where it's sent from. Doesn't matter if it eventually comes to me from China, Canada or the US for country of origin. At least that's how I understand it.

I don't know. I knew a person who was basically a Sociopath in terms of not understanding empathy. Did some horrible stuff and didn't even know it was wrong. Admitted to everything and was confused as to why he was in trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't a similar situation or some other reason that has little to do with book smarts.
