Agreed with @Gix7Fifty, you're shopping for a coffee table, not a desk. Though, really, just grab an Ikea table top and make yourself some legs out of 4x4s. Easy.
That chair looks mad uncomfortable, and will probably completely destroy your back.

Haha, actually I didn't even notice your location. But where do you think PCMR comes from?
It's a sarcastic jab at gamers that they took and ran with. It was never meant as something good.
Not always. I've found just as many toxic people on PC. I've also ran into far more cheaters on PC than on console.
15 years of console play, I never once got DDOS'd. So maybe that's something about you.

It really depends entirely on you.
Do you have friends that play on PS that you can play with? Do you care? Are any of the PS exclusives things you'd want to play? If you answer yes to either of those, then I probably would. Again, though, it's your choice. No one here can really help you with that.

They're looking for quality, so it takes time. I'd imagine a fall release, if not Christmas.
The cost for that would be huge. I think you've probably just been buying really shit quality mats.

No, not really. I'd have said the same thing. "PCMR" is a sarcastic joke, and anyone that takes that mentality is kind of pathetic.
I don't think I've actually heard of any of my friends getting DDOSed before, either.

Except for the part where telcos have to submit a project for an new infrastructure, or to expand a current one, into an area with no coverage, if not, then no money.

Seems like you have an "American" view of the whole thing (no offence here, but your views and arguments really don't reflect what we're experiencing up here as far as gov interventions), that's a program made to expand the infrastructure of telcos so that they can offer 50/10 connections to all Canadians (because, sadly, we have lots of small remote areas), and in the current day and age, internet is a basic service (as declared by the gov. in 2016).

Go OLED. IPS is for low budget phones.
Want a better phone for gaming? Get something with a newer, higher end SoC.

Having lived in a small town that didn't have great internet (if any internet at all), that's great news for them. Though, I'd really wonder how many small communities this is going to help. the 2% of Canadians that won't get access under that 98% is still almost 800,000 people. That's a lot of small towns.

I've seen some people say the government should be forced to set pricing, supply, etc. I don't agree with this at all. If you're going to do that, you're essentially running the business yourself, and as such, you should own the whole thing. I'm all for government oversight against monopolies etc, but that IMO is overstepping pretty heavily.

You can get much faster speeds over cable.
It's not actually that much work. 35%+ of Canadians live in 3 metro areas, and almost 90% live within 100km of the US border (and thus, likely already have high speed internet, or it wouldn't be expensive to get it to them).
Most of the northern communities probably won't be serviced until much later. They make up such a small percentage of the population, they easily fall into that 2% that they can leave un-serviced and still meet their claims. TBH most people I know that live that far north couldn't give 2 shits if they have internet or not.
You can run it on telephone poles. It doesn't have to be buried.
Maybe if you're in a very rural area. I pay $60 for 600 down, and I think it's only another $50 a month for 1 gig. You can get 1.5 gig if you really want for like $165.
It also comes down to bargaining. If you haven't negotiated the pricing of your internet plan, you're doing it wrong.
I think most people that live in smaller towns generally have much cheaper expenses anyway, so paying a little more for internet is a lot cheaper than paying the higher prices that go along with living in a city. Something most people seem to forget.
I think that's true for most large corporations, they're mostly there to please investors.
You could have paid that 10 million in cash. In which case the analogy works. Not everyone buys property with a mortgage.
$50 actually sounds like quite a bargain.
Those communities likely are in the 2%, not the 98%. And, frankly, small communities like that make less and less sense as time goes on.

dizmo reacted to MageTank in Trudeau government promises to connect 98% of Canadians to high-speed internet by 2026
Yeah, mostly because the analogy is weak. It operates on the assumption that the person that sold the home is automatically in debt because they sold it for a loss. It also operates on the assumption that they are somehow poor despite somehow convincing a bank to approve a loan for a 10 million dollar home, which requires that they had a solid income or equity to put up against the loan in the first place. If your entire analogy hinges on the premise that the person that sold their $10m home also lost their high paying job, the valuable assets they possessed that aided in the securing of their home loan AND that they paid none of that loan off prior to selling it for 5M dollars, then I'd say it's by definition, a very weak analogy. I feel like a ton of things would have to happen to make this analogy applicable to a real world scenario and I just don't see that happening, not without mistake after mistake being made, or Dan Aykroyd reprising his role from Trading Places.

Yeah... It's going to be a rough few months. My plan is to see if Frontier will let me buy a few 25Mbps connections and bond them together. It's still a far cry from the gigabit I've grown accustomed to, but beats some of the worst DSL connections. Spectrum offers Gigabit just a couple miles away in basically every direction, sadly it would cost around $60k to have a hub installed in my area according to the rep I spoke with. The catch 22 of living in the country is that you have no neighbors to deal with, but also no neighbors to chip in on getting fast internet brought to the area, lol.

No that is my country, with accurate and real costing of what has been done rather than here where it's a projected cost. I can tell you now it'll cost more than what has been projected but not a lot more unless they change the scope of the project.

This sounds like it's more targeted to rural and more distant urban areas with substandard connection speeds and reliability where our cost was full national rollout.

P.S To the people that don't know the world map is not to proper scale or proportion and NZ actually is not that small land size. Sure not even close to Canada scale but like has been pointed out they don't use all of it for cities etc. So spent wisely a billions dollars will do just fine at connecting a lot of people to fast reliable internet.

Clearly they don't when they habitually have to push back their release dates. Doesn't happen with most other studios. You think other studios don't redesign most things? All of these games just have copy and paste assets? Please.  The fact you'll blindly sit there and defend them when they're clearly in the wrong is pathetic.
So? That has nothing to do with them not being able to put forth a proper release date. If anything, they should know even better how much time it'll take to properly execute their product. The fanboyism in you is amazing.
