I'd love to see Google release a balls out flagship phone to compete with the big players.
Give me:
- Wireless and reverse wireless charging
- SD865+
- 16GB RAM
- 256GB storage
- 6000mah battery
- Alert switch/slider
- Dedicated 2 stage shutter button
- 120hz screen
- 6.9" screen
- Tele, ultra, standard cameras
- $1,099
-
@Nowak Not really. Their phones always had either issues with QC, battery life, were lacking in feature (RAM, storage, etc), missing key features like ultrawide cameras...they've never made a properly comprehensive flagship device. Sony doesn't offer anywhere near the battery life I need and they're stuck on the whole 21:9 aspect ratio which I'm not a fan of at all.

tbh it makes sense that Google would try competing in the mid-range instead, since their high-end phones just don't sell and are rife with issues that their mid-rangers don't have. I woulda prolly bought a Pixel 5 if I waited a bit longer... and was in the market for a $700 phone lol
Speaking of, the Pixel 5 is actually cheaper in Europe than North America. mmWave is the culprit.

@Nowak Haha, US you mean Canada gets the cheaper version as well. I would have gotten the Pixel this year actually, but the screen just isn't big enough on any of the models they released. Currently looking at the S20 FE, with a possible move to iPhone next year.

@Nowak Haha, yeah. Or even the 4a 5G. At least they finally went to UFS storage on the cheap ones; the fact they used eMMC was a massive disappointment. Maybe the OnePlus 8T will be a pleasant surprise.

@soldier_ph The 765G is a current midrange SoC

Y'know it hit me recently that the 765G has "5G" right in its name
