  1. Yeah.....just upgraded to the Corsair Link system which looks great, although set up was a PAIN due to the device limit or some rubbish i dont care whatever. The point is my 1440p monitor will not work now, at all. Nothing, not even a splash screen. It did for like 30 seconds but now nothing. I changed NOTHING to do with the monitor or the GPU. Only thing I can think of is that the new Corsair Link system which uses an 8pin PCIe power cable is using too much power or something for the GPU to run the 1440p monitor? I have tried the GPU power cables with the pigtail bit, and then as I had it with two dedicated seperate power cables and nothing changes so like I dont know. What am I supposed to do now?! This was supposed to be a gift to myself so much bad stuff is happening to me as it is right now I dont need this garbage!!
  2. Thats basically my plan yes. I have a USB3 hard drive adapter and I was going to buy a 2tb compute drive from Seagate. Copy my data to that drive over USB, install the new HDDs in the NAS get it set up and then move the data from the USB drive to the NAS. Might take a while but its only 1.5tb of data so it shouldnt take that long.
  3. How will that help me expand storage though? Or do you mean copy my data to that external drive first, then replace the NAS drive with the new ones and dump the data back onto the NAS?
  4. So i have a 2 bay NAS, set up with RAID.....something. The one where you only get half of your total storage capacity but still have redundency. I have a Terramaster F2-210 enclosure with two 2TB Seagate Ironwolf drives in it. Its getting pretty full now, I have less than 500gb left now so I need to start thinking of upgrades ASAP really!! How do i do that easily and cheaply? I dont have any spare drives just laying about. Is it as simple as just take out one drive, put the new bigger drive in let it copy the data over and do the same with the other drive? Or does it not work like that? I have no idea how any of this stuff works really!!
  5. So I have a two bay NAS with two, 2TB drives in it. RAID......uh.....something or other set up (the one where you loose half your raw storage to redundency, so 4TB becomes 2TB and I can loose either drive and still keep data, I think its RAID 1 but i could be wrong). How can I expand the storage with this set up? What is the easiest method of doing so? My first thought was just buy two 4TB drives, and swap the drives one by one, letting the data rebuild onto one drive at a time. But was told elsewhere that method might not work?...... Should I just bite the bullet and get a four bay NAS with two 2TB drives and add the existing drives to it? Would that work? I dont have HDDs just laying around the place, and neither do I just have masses of USB storage sitting about either. Im doing this on a budget and in a very limited space, please bare that in mind. So whats the best advice here? Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
  6. For a casual streamer in the UK, what is the best option for total audio volume/game control? I just want control over Game, Mic, Music and Discord volumes and thats it. Nothing else. I find in my previous live streams, discord is difficult to hear no matter what I do, and I dont want to click out of the game, dick about with windows volume control in the middle of a stream cos that sucks. I want to set and forget, but also be able to adjust it if need be. Go XLR is the cheapest and available on Amazon with next day prime delivery. £142 And no import tax. BUT its a little complicated to set up, I dont understand EQs, I dont care for it, I dont care about compression or anything like that at all. The bleep button is kinda gimicky but also might be useful here and there depending what kind of content I am making. the BEACN Mix is a little bit more exspensive at £130 with £21 shipping (import fees and whatever not included, I dunno if it ships from the US or not, it mentions international shipping so.....maybe i dunno its kinda confusing). What i like about it is thats its literally plug drag and play. No EQ stuff, no compression or anything like that, just a plug it in and control everything with simple drag and drops. So.....which one? The BEACN Mix is easier to set up by far, but is a little more exspensive with postage and possibly with import fees ontop of that. Go XLR is cheaper, no import fees at all BUT its more complicated in its setup. So.............whats the advice here?
  7. So watchingyoutube and scrolling through facebook, my 360mm AIO cooled 5800x hits 55-60c. Even I know thats a bit too toasty!! How can i get that temp down a little more without increasing the noise level? I have the fans hooked up to the Comander Core that comes with the H150i Eleite capelix cooler im using. fan speed set to balanced and pump speed set to quiet, cos mmm that pump is noisier than i thought XD its a gentle hum/whir noise that i cant quite ignore just yet....almost as annoying as the whine from my NAS box under the desk. anyway, how can i get idle temps lower without affecting performance or noise? I read somewhere that the 5800x (for some reason) puts ALL background tasks on a single core, and thats why it runs hot. Is there a way of removing that stupid dumb feature in BIOS or Ryzen Master or somehting similar? Is that even a thing or? I have no idea, this is the most high end PC ive ever owned! BIOS is the latest from ASRock (P5.0) on a B450 Pro 4 motherboard.
  8. Ordered myself a 5800x and a corsair h150i Elite capelix 360mm AIO today. Arrives over the weekend. any tips on AIOs that i should know about? Are the rumours true that the 5800x runs at too many volts out of the box and runs WAY too hot all the time? Does front vs top mount matter for AIO placement?
  9. Ive dicked about with so many drivers now i think legally i qualify as a software engineer XD
  10. So had some scary issues with my brand new RTX 3070 today. I shutdown lastnight when I went to bed, and when I turned thed pc on this morning Everything on screen was flickering, the mouse wasnt working properly. It was almost the same as having the wrong drivers installed, except they were correct. During my troubleshooting process I unplugged all but on of my three monitors, INSTANTLY fixed the issue. Plugged the second back in and shut down, the turned the pc back on. Everythings fine, which points to the third monitor being the issue. Could it be the HDMI to VGA adapter I use with it? I literally just use it as a glorified clock TBH with Windows 10 wigets from the Microsoft store, so its not THAT important in the grand scheme of things. Could that be what the issue was? The issues only started when GPU drivers were installed on the System. Without drivers it was fine, the femto second I installed them is where the issues began. Im not going to plug the other monitor back in, cos I know its going to break everything again. Why would a display adapter cause these issues though? Never had any issues with it before at all. Is it something to do with new GPUs or something perhaps?
  11. I already have other Corsair stuff so that dosnt mater. I like iQue anyway, it just works and their stuff looks awesome and pefrorms great.
  12. My 3070 is literally arriving today so XD I want a new cooler, because I want one. I know it wont make much difference in terms of cooling I just wanted one cos literally everything else is getting an upgrade so why not the cooler too.
  13. In a few months I will be upgrading my gaming rig with a new CPU MoBo and RAM, and also an AIO. Never had a liquid cooled PC before, are there any tips you have for an AIO noob like me? Im going with a Corsair H1501 Elite Capellix 360mm AIO for what will be a 5800x when I get round to buying it in a couple months. What maintence do i need to do on it? Other than dusting to rad off every month or so? Do i need to do anything to the liquid inside it or.....?
  14. So in January next year (hopefully) I will have around £1300 ($1748 US) for some PC upgrades. I currently have R7 2700x, ASRock B450 MoBo, GTX 1080ti And id like to upgrade that to R5 5600x, Asus Prime X570 MoBo, corsair H150i Elite Cappelix AIO cooler, and im stuck with GPU choices. 6700xt offers the best performence for my price range, but Id be missing out on DLSS support in Red Dead 2..... Most of the RTX 3060s I find are priced lower than the 6700xt (and the one I found matched my colour scheme PERFECTLY) and of course supports DLSS in RDR2. Whats my best options here? EDIT: FYI my 1080ti is genuinly terrible at everything it does. RDR2 low settings at 1440p it struggles to get 70fps on average. Ive seen 1080ti get the same FPS at HIGH settings. Im NOT intrested in making it work better, im done with it, the fans make funny noises, it under performs and I dont care about it anymore. I want it replaced.
  15. Ok so i DDUed it and nothing changed. Still the same shitty FPS at the same settings.
