a-joh got a reaction from sazrocks in Fine, I'll give AMD a chance. Please suggest a rocking CPU/Mobo/RAM combo $800-900
Any reason as to why you decided on the 2700X when the 3000-series is out?

a-joh got a reaction from OmerZano in Is G-Sync worth it?
G-sync only kicks in if the framerate is below your monitors refresh rate. It does nothing if the FPS is above your monitors refresh rate.

If your framerate drops from 144 to 100, G-sync will change your monitors refresh rate to 100.
If your framerate is 200, G-sync can't overclock your monitor to 200hz.

a-joh got a reaction from TVwazhere in Upgrading from 60hz TN to 144hz VA
I've borrowed a 120hz monitor. The upgrade wasn't very noticable at first.... but when going back to 60hz it became really laggy.
In The Witcher 3, Geralt is smooth on both 60hz and 120hz... but the scenery is really stuttery on 60hz. Unable to notice any screen tearing on 120hz, but it's become more apparent on 60hz....

    Guess I'm upgrading...

    a-joh got a reaction from 3NMa in 27inch 1080p monitor?
Just wanted to follow-up on this by saying I went for a 24 inch monitor due to lack of multiple digital inputs on the samsung.
    Bought AOC G2460VQ6 - 1ms, 75hz freesync - for roughly 200$ (fairly inexpensive).
    Reasons being:
    1x Displayport for connecting PC
    1x HDMI for PS4
Bigger range for freesync compared to the samsung

Edit: Returned the AOC and bought a Samsung 27SF350. The TN panel of the AOC could not distinguish between white and grey.
Lost a digital input and 15hz in the upper range, but gained PLS panel with alot better colors.
