I have been a long-time viewer of LTT here coming in need of some guidance!
I've been employed by a small self-storage company up here in Canada and I was talking with the owner about what he's going to do with his new set of climate-controlled lockers he wanted to build. I had teased him with the idea of having upgraded lockers we could call "smart storage" which would include power access, and the ability to view the locker through an app and be able to lock and unlock it through the same app. Turns out he was actually interested in the idea and tasked me with figuring out how much the whole thing would cost. My best guess would be there are companies out there that specialize in surveillance systems but as far as app integration I'd be banking on it being done by a software company (we have one that specializes in self-storage developing our web app) but I guess in this case they would need to specialize in surveillance apps and integration.
My question is does anyone have experience in integrating camera streams into apps and are there any companies that would do so for a small business?
(it would be around 200 lockers/streams)
If someone could even help point me in the right direction in terms of where to look for helping our tenants view and lock/unlock their lockers remotely that would be great!
