I guess your OS had a few corrupted files then. Next time we could have started with running the command "sfc /scannow" in an elevated terminal to see what was up with windows. Either way, glad it seems like you fixed your issue with an "upgrade"

Unfortunately these errors show nothing, and usually a CPU issue would put something in event logs half the time. I would also suspect it's RAM or memory controller. You can install something like HWinfo64, there's a WHEA listing there that loves to count up every time the memory controller is struggling to keep the FClock stable for your ram kit. Prime95 is not very good at testing memory but is excellent for testing Curve Optimizer stability (which we're not doing), and Memtest isn't good for testing something that's edge of stability either. I've found that Aida64 extreme's memory stress test works best at finding these barely stable memory overclocks.

Try running HWinfo64 on a second monitor and check if the last row "WHEA" increases with your computer under load or gaming. If it does, your CPU's memory controller cant handle the RAM speeds. Might need SOC voltage tuning but that's a different rabbit hole Install Aida64 (trial version) and run the memory stress test under tools. It doesn't take very long, this baby usually finds errors within 10 minutes but I run it for an hour to be sure. If it quits, it means the memory OC isn't stable enough for regular use.

    well,

5600 at 30-36-36-75, ran without any problems for 75 minutes

6000 at 40-40-40-80 ended in error immediatly, so I guess 5600 is gonna be the ceiling and those are already thightest timings, so I guess 5600 30-36-36-75 it is

gonna let it run prime95 large test overnight and hopefully it will work

You will want to set the timings and voltage to the sticks XMP spec. If you don’t have a sticker with the numbers on the RAM, enable DOCP and then go look at the timings and voltage in bios and write them down or take a picture. Then disable DOCP, set them manually, and start pushing up the speed as described.

In real world use the timings don’t make much difference, so trying to manipulate them outside of spec is really only useful for pro overclockers who want to set records. Or for hobbyists who do it just because they can.

Max for 4 sticks is 3600 on the cpu end per official spec. It’s a memory controller limitation.

You simply can't run it at 6000MHz with all 4 slots occupied. I would try to run them at 5200MT/s and see if that works. From there you can increase it and see if it runs stable at higher speeds as well.

Of course it could still be a hardware problem with the RAM sticks themselves. But I'd try this first.

It’s just too many sticks to run at high speeds. 2 sticks will run on XMP/expo but 4 will not.

you can try to plug all 4 in and set timings and voltage manually. Start pushing up the speed setting. Start at 4000ish and then go up one notch at a time and test for stability. At some point you’ll start getting errors and will have found the limit.

prime 95 large test is a good check - it will error out really quick if you have any issues (well before you’ll get blue screens from instability). Much faster than windows memory diagnostic. If you can run prime for a couple hours it is most likely good to go (at least for daily use, non-mission critical kind of thing).

Disable DOCP and see if you can get it work like that.

General rule of thumb, avoid 4 sticks of ram. Not all motherboards and CPUs like that. It is more likely than not that you will run into stability issues with 4 sticks.

If you want to speed up your system boot turn on "memory context restore" option in bios. That reduces system hang on RAM times.

I guess it would depend on your eyes. Personally, at 32inch between decent panels when gaming, I see tittle difference between 1440p and 4k. But may be, you will. Plus, 4090 on 1440p isn't entirely bad. It's just like 3080 on 1080p. It basically means, that in 2-5yrs from now, you still have your current system, you would still be able to play latest games of that time at higher fps, unlike if you go with 4k. I mean my suggestion is base on you using multiple monitors. If you are going to play on multiple monitors, it would be better to get two 1440p, than two 4k monitors. However, if you would only play on a single monitor and use the other one for something else, then you can do what I do, one 1440p and one 4k monitor. If you are concerns with the aesthetics, there are actually several monitors that has the same design/model but different resolution. So no one would know which one is 1440p and 4k until the pc is turned on.

With only a small downgrade to a cheaper 4K 28" monitor (plus I don't like much Samsungs they have too many manufacturing defects, and OLEDs are still too expensive)  you can get a top of the line rig for 3100EUR :

If it were me and I'm getting a 4090 and 2 or 3 monitor in the future. I'll just get 4090 now with a 27inch monitor and get another one in the future. Some would say get the 7800x3d and a 4080/7900xtx but, when it comes to gaming, no matter how good the 7800x3d is, if the budget is at around 3000, it can't win against 7700x+4090. Well you can also just go with 7700x with 7900xtx and remaining budget you saved will be for the 2nd and 3rd monitor. You can get 3 1440p 27inch monitor if you like or two 1440p 32inches.

I run a similar build.  Same CPU, Same Motherboard but a 4080.  I am only a gamer and I am extremely happy with the performance and I have absolutely no complaints about this.  A 1000w will be more than enough for a 4090 if you plan on upgrading later. A quality 750w would run the 4090 ( Not at the 600w mode obviously ) One can always tweak things here and there to save a dollar or two, your system looks good though 🙂

Nice video, but Asus ROG phone doesn't start at $1500 dollars. It's actually misleading tbh, the 3 versions do not differ from chipset but just GB memory and storage.

It's unfair to compare to mention redmagic price with 128gb storage against  rog Phone 5 with max storage and GB memory, when they've a 128gb storage version for $750 dollars. The Rog Phone 5 ultimate is just made for the fancy pants that want their phone look cooler and don't care about price/performance ratio.

Would have been better to mention that the Rog Phone 5 have cheaper models with same gaming performance. Now it sounds you're punishing Asus for them to provide a fancy pants phone when they have cheaper models with a more reasonable price that are gaming phones.

Anyway this is not an attack, I just wished you guys were a tiny bit more informative about the options and pricing of the Rog Phone 5. I hope you guys pick this up next time when you guys do a comparison and have a nice day!

Id probably get a cheap board and use the 6 sata ports for now, then get a sas expander later, esp as your starting with 4 drives now.

Id probalby go 8gb here, the ram helps with everything, and works as a disk cache, and doesn't cost much more.

24 lanes, so 4 for chipset, 4 normally for m.2 slot, and 16 for gpu.
WIth that board, your limited to one slot at 16x as the main x16 can't be split on b servies board.

Id probably just go x370 with those prices, but you will need a bios update.

Probably go unraid for a easy to use and expand nas.

Id go raid 6 over 50 most of the time, speed will be network limited anways

    Hello,
I am a bit late to the party, but Genius (not sure if they are such a common brand in america as in europe) made similar wired vibrating headset like 6 years ago named "Genius GX Gaming HS-G500V". At least I bought mine in 2013 for 15-20 € and it is pretty good, not sure how the mic sounds tho. It is also really easy to service. I broke cable on it couple of years ago and had to shorten it and resolder it in right cup and it took me only like 10-15 mins and they are still working today. Headset is still being produced and sold for the same price, so if someone is interested to give it a try 15 € is much better than 200 $.

Generally I would say no but for 30€ it can still be a good general use pc with some light games. To make this pc capable of gaming 2018 games you basically need a complete new one.

Single core wise you won't see any improvement really but in more threaded tasks or just multitasking you'll see a nice improvement.

I'd try unlocking the two extra cores on this X2 first. All Phenom II X2 chips are quad cores with 2 locked cores. Sometimes disabled, sometimes defective. Gaming wise, it's not really worth upgrading to a X6.
