  1. This turned out to be really good. Its not as intuitive as inventor but it works well for being free.
  2. This could be my solution. I'll try it out when I get home from work and let you know
  3. With my drawing skill? That would be a negative. Plus with pencil and paper I can't assemble it to find flaws in my design Do you have a link? The lowest I could find this software for on Autodesk's website was $40/month. This is much closer to a real price that I could afford but it's still $40/month that I would have to budget around. I have used this and it's good for what it is, especially with the ability to export to .obj. But it is still lacking in what I need I am no longer a student. I tried. Autodesk knows.
  4. I want to make individual parts with measurements that I can use to actually make said parts in real life out of wood or metal. I then want to take those individual parts and assemble them all together in the software. I essentially want Autodesk Inventor just not for $2800
  5. I tried sketchup. The software was okay. But I felt it difficult to use, even with all the tutorial videos. Can Blender do that? I was under the impression that blender was more for 3D rendering for video gam graphics and things of the like.
  6. Hello Everyone, I am looking to do some 3D modeling in a CAD software for some personal designs and just for fun. I want to make individual parts and then assemble them together. I am well versed in Autodesk Inventor but I am stuck only using 30 day trials with only a few days left. I especially like this software for its ease of use. But I don't really have all that much need for the built in simulations that it can do. I used this software for years when I was in school. But now I am not and the education versions don't work anymore. I am looking for a new 3D solid modeling CAD software but I cant afford much. I've tried Sketchup but felt the software was difficult to use. I've tried FreeCad but that software was even more difficult. The only one I did seem to enjoy that was free was Tinkercad. But it is significantly lacking in what it can do. I am willing to pay for the software, but I cant afford much. I can do around like $10/month or $100/year. Any more than that is just beyond what I can pay. So now I turn to the community to help me with my endeavor --------What is a good free or otherwise inexpensive 3D solid modeling CAD software that I can use for personal use to make parts and assemblies? ---------It would also be a bonus significantly if it can support the cad files I have already made in inventor. p.s. Didn't really know where an appropriate place for this thread to be. If this is too off topic please do inform me.
  7. They need to design this for standard ryzen CPUs. I'd totally get one. At 250W it would compete with the likes of the Dark Rock pro 4 at least on mainstream platforms.
  8. There is something that that for sure. The old board wouldn't post at 4GHz but this one I can get all the way to Windows. I still can't actually run it at 4Ghz but it was crazy that it even posted
  9. I was actually not aware that this was a limitation with software monitoring. As a result I am running aida64 with the cpu voltage turned down. Tying to find a stable of voltage. Though I must say that even the lower voltages didn't really help heat that much. Just a couple degrees. The old board didn't break. I got the new board for better vrm and to run memory at advertised speeds. But most importantly I got it because it was on sale on Amazon. Lol If that were the case, wouldn't my overclock have failed?
  10. I am happy with the temps. No problem there. I am just curious as to why this has occurred. Furthermore the system is load with fans always running at high speeds like that. I would imaging if i adjust the fan curve to make it quieter then it would just be hotter
  11. I have done this already 3 times. Each time I do it I remove the cooler to find a nice even spread on the IHS
  12. I finally got around to upgrading my motherboard from a MSI Tomahawk B350 to a Gigabyte AX-370 Gaming 5. This system runs well and stable with my Ryzen 7 1700 OC running at 3.9GHz and my memory at its advertised 3000MHz speed. One thing I cant figure out is that this motherboard makes my CPU run about 15C hotter. I've gone from around 35C idle to 50-54C at idle. Under full load in aida64 it reaches in the high 60s. I understand these temps aren't that hot but I still don't get it, plus now the fans are always ramped up due to the heat. There is a solid delta of 15C on average. Whats even more strange is that the settings from both boards are the same. 100MHz BLCK 39 Multiplier 3.9GHZ OC on all cores 1.35V locked Artic Silver 5 BeQuiet! Dark Rock TF CPU cooler The only difference between the two boards is ram speed with the MSI only getting to 2667MHz, I can confirm that the Voltage is correct and the core clock is correct using HW monitor. I actually went as far as to remove my CPU cooler and reapply thermal paste 3 times. Each time I removed the cooler, the paste was spread evenly over the IHS. I'm quite confused as to why this is happening. Can RAM speed affect a CPU temp or is there something else going on here that I am not aware of?
  13. This is still happening. now I cant launch a game at all. I am beginning to think the only way to fix this is to switch to intel. This is rediculous
  14. That's odd. Ive had a regular Blue screen with this chip before this motherboard. interesting none the less What is the AMD raid Driver? I am not running a raid, but I am running enmotus fuzedrive. http://www.enmotus.com/AMD Could this be the source of my issue?
  15. Not a whole lot comes up. Nothing I could find specifically for windows 10. One thing I did find that sounds really similar is https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/the-driver-detected-a-controller-error-on/8ae5f637-b32a-4e33-9657-2327f34b51d2 This user has windows 7, so I don't know if that matters much, or if this is even usfull. Ultimately the solution was to run the manufactures error correcting tool. My SSD manufacture does not have a tool like this as they are a very cheap brand. http://mydigitalssd.com/pcie-m2-ngff-ssd.php#80mm-bpx-m2 CrystalDiskInfo says that SSD has 100% health
  16. Ok. Today it happened twice within just a few minutes sitting at the desktop. The error in Event Viewer is "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\RaidPort1." Log name: System Source: stornvme Event ID: 11 Level: Error I also have a whole bunch of "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {6B3B8D23-FA8D-40B9-8DBD-B950333E2C52} and APPID {4839DDB7-58C2-48F5-8283-E1D1807D0D7D} to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool." Log name: System Source: distributedCOM EventID:10016 Level: Error User: LOCAL SERVICE Opcode: info I don't really know a whole lot about these logs. I do know that I am using a BPX 128GB NVME SSD for my boot drive. I talked to my coworkers and somebody suggested that the SSD could be failing. With an error code that has NVME in it, could this be possible? I have reset windows. At first it seemed to help but I am still experiencing the same issue.
  17. Last time it did it (on the first board) event viewer said "the last shotdown was unexpected" but there was no error after that or before from what I can remember.
  18. I have not since the new board install. The first one I did. I don't remember a huge string of errors but I know that means they still could be there
  19. Ok. I'll install Windows fresh tomorrow on to another SSD and run some games from my regular boot drive. If I can play for a few hours with no issues then that must be it. I'll update when I know more. Do you think I could also reset Windows?
  20. And software would also cause the whole motherboard to be unresponsive during the crash?
  21. I agree that this would be ideal. However given the symptom, I don't really know if that software related. I would think that I would get a bsod if it were software. This, everything just goes black. Could software cause that?
  22. Hey all, I just purchased a new motherboard from Asus to replace my old board that insufficient VRM. Its an Asus X470F-Gaming motherboard. I am currently running this with -Ryzen 7 1700 -Be Quiet! Dark Rock TF cooler -16GB Corsair Vengence LPX (2x8GB) RAM -Gigabyte GTX 980 -Seasonic 850W 80+Gold PSU What is happening is during various work loads in games (sometimes heavy load sometimes really light loads but usually in games) the system will just crash. Black screens. Even the color wave RBG on the board freezes. Pressing reset does not fix the issue, pressing and holding power does not fix the issue. The only way to fix it is to switch off the PSU and wait for the lights to turn off. After that it works fine like nothing happened. That is until the next crash. The crashes are very inconsistent. Sometimes it takes hours sometimes minutes. At first I thought it was an overclock issue but after taking everything back to stock the issue still persists. I contacted Asus directly and they ultimately said that board was defective and I should RMA it. I instead returned it to Amazon and purchased the exact model board again from a different seller on Amazon. Installed it today and loaded up Skyrim. This game used to run fine for hours on end on my old motherboard. About 45 minutes into the game, black screen, frozen RGB and no signs of life on the second new board running everything stock. So now I am left scratching my head and frustrated. What the heck is going on here? Is this just a poorly designed board? Is this not compatible with 1st Gen Ryzen? Am I just really unlucky to get 2 dud boards? I have had Asus boards before and I really liked them but i am quickly losing faith in the brand. If you have suggestions please do let me know. Thanks.
  23. I just bought these fans. I have their non software version and I love them. My issue with these though is that the software isn't working at all. I can install the software, but when I go to launch the software nothing happens. I can see in my task manager that it is indeed running but still no UI or system tray icon. One weird thing that I noticed is that if I try to launch the software, then I unplug the USB connector from the controller, the software works actually comes up and then gives me an error. Clicking inside the software during this, causes it to crash. If I plug in the controller during this process, it does not start working. A quick google suggests that this software is buggy a lot. however, i couldn't find anything like this. I am running Windows 10 version 1709. Any ideas?
