  1. Hey all. Recently I've noticed the lovely yellow triangle has been bestowed upon my internet connection on my desktop at my apt. I've tried the usual. Unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in, swap cables, etc. The apparatus in my room is a 4 port dock which, with which I've reset countless times and tried each port on. I've run all the cmd prompts usually associated with my problem to no avail. I just reset my machine with a new install of windows and that didn't even work. I'm at my wits end with this crap and I'm looking for some help. I'll copy and paste my ipconfig /all notes and such below. Thanks if you can help!
  2. Just changed that setting. Time will tell if it has any effect. Thx! Edit: I'll run a "stress test" now by poking the bear and doing what usually triggers the event.
  3. No noticeable discrepancies before the total cut in video, no. I've been trying to swap out the card for another different card for a while but I just don't have the money to do so.
  4. Lately, I've been experiencing a strange occurrence with my first build. If, for example, I were to have NBA 2K19 and a larger Adobe Photoshop PSD open at the same time for long enough, both my monitors will go black but the sound continues on like normal. My monitors cycle through all the inputs but don't reconnect. It's not a complete shutdown like I experienced when the fan on my old Hyper 212 EVO stopped spinning, causing my CPU to overheat. It's as if my monitor's video cables were just disconnected. Unplugging and replugging them back into my GPU doesn't work. I've tried. It's pretty annoying as it could happen with just Photoshop now since I've converted from CS6 to CC 2019. Personally, it feels like some sort of ram issue to me. I don't know if it is for sure, but if it is, would more ram/higher speed ram/just a replacement be in order? Then again it's my first build so I won't claim to be the expert here. Any help at all would be amazing. Thanks for your input. I'll leave my part list below: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/NickIncredible15/saved/#view=GMp6hM (P.S. I'm well aware my PSU is overkill. I had an issue with my initial PSU's fan making contact with a part inside and had to just run out to Best Buy for a quick replacement.)
  5. Back when I first built my PC, I rerouted my documents, music, videos, pictures, and downloads folders to my hard drive (D:) instead of having them on my SSD (C:). I made a subfolder in D entitled "my libraries" and the target locations read as so: D:\My Libraries\Documents D:\My Libraries\Music etc Since then, a power surge has potentially taken the life of my hard drive. I'm currently waiting on a "friend of a friend" to give me a quote on a repair. In the meantime, if I reroute the folders onto another hard drive with a different assigned letter (E:), would that have any effect on the files saved on the D: drive if I get it fixed? In other words, if I move the folder target locations onto E and later down the line get D back, will the files on D still be in tact and will I just be able to take the files from the E library folders, plop them onto D, and resume business as usual? The answer may be obvious and the question a bit meaningless, but I'm just wanting to be safe. Thanks.
  6. To each their own I suppose. I think it's me subconsciously wanting something to tinker with in my system
  7. The a e s t h e t i c. That and this is giving me an opertunity to do some cleaning anyway.
  8. In nearly every picture I've seen, the tubes do not overlap. If this is just me being paranoid, then hey thanks for confirming it looks fine.
  9. Idk about the tubes. It looks different than pictures I've seen of the product in other people's systems. Help!
  10. I currently have one intake fan at the front, two exhausts on my top mounted radiator, and an exhaust in the back. Would it be worth moving the lone exhaust fan to the front as a 2nd intake, making the two rad fans the only exhausts in the system? Would I see any performance differences? Thanks.
  11. My current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/NickIncredible15/saved/GMp6hM I'm thinking of doing a mass upgrade in the near future and I want some suggestions as to how I go about it. I use my PC for gaming, editing, media consumption, and general web browsing. I don't have a set budget, but this in no way means "money is no object". I was thinking of maybe moving to AMD Ryzen and possibly nabbing a 1070 or better with the hope of achieving around 100+ fps averages on max/high settings so I can take advantage of my 144hz 1080p displays. The only parts I would like to keep are my drives, the PSU (I've been thru 3 {long story} and I want to keep this one going for as long as I can), and the CPU cooler (I believe there are brackets to make it compatible with Ryzen, if not oh well). I'd love to move into the Corsair 460x or Rosewell Cullinan as I'm getting tired of the "big red box" aesthetic my Fractal Design R5 and Asus Maximus VII Hero give off. I thought the red was "cool" at first and now that my tastes have changed I'm thinking I go with color neutral components or a cooler toned colors (blues and purples) theme. Any suggestions for any components are greatly appreciated. Thx
  12. Alright. I'm going to contact WD and a local data recovery place to see what I can do. You bet the very first thing I do when I get it is to make a goddamn backup of everything. Thanks for all the help
  13. My Disc drive on the same SATA power cable smelt like something inside was heating up and burning possibly. I instantly shut everything off and disconnected the drive. As soon as I booted back up the HDD was gone
