  1. I'll definitely try flashing the BIOS and fiddling with the RAM. As I said, this is a new SSD with a fresh install of Windows on it, before I was using a smaller Crucial SSD when the issues started.
  2. I'm at my wits end here, guys I've been dealing with this problem for what feels like over a year now. Whenever my computer is running continuously for a few hours or more, it'll start freezing on the regular for a few seconds. Audio will continue as normal, videos continue as normal, but I can't use the mouse or keyboard for anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds, depending on how long the computer's been on. Live streams, however, do freeze to buffer while the computer is frozen. It usually seems random, but sometimes correlates with incoming Discord messages or opening interfaces such as volume control or the start menu. As implied, restarting the computer makes the problem go away temporarily, but sure enough, it gradually comes back. I'm used to always having my computer on, I shouldn't have to restart it this often. I have tried everything. I tried tinkering with software up to not only installing a fresh instance of Windows, but doing it on a brand new SSD. Problem persisted. I tried doing a deep clean of dust and grime on the computer, issue persists. What else can I try?? I'm in despair. 3. Alright, I'm not sure if you were trying to be condescending but that's how this came across. You did post a video and a series of screenshots that instructed the viewer to roll back drivers. Your instructions say if the drivers are AMD to uninstall them. I'm not sure how this would happen, but I can assure you my SATA controller is provided by Microsoft.
  4. The option to roll back drivers is greyed out.
  5. Unfortunately this is not an option, literally. Though my problem is a little different from what yours was. I can't for the life of me figure out the cause. No errors on the drives according to SeaTools
  6. I'll try that. The OS is on the SSD, and there are no overclocks on this system.

  8. For weeks now my computer has reliably frozen for 1-3 seconds every 10 or so minutes and I have no idea why. No resources are being pegged, it tends to start happening if it's running for more than a few hours. Restarting usually resolves it temporarily but with continued use it just starts happening again. Is there anyone who can help me with this?
  9. To my amazement, that worked. Nothing seems to be dead. I pulled both RAM sticks and the graphics card and found that the fans spun up. Put each component back in one by one and each time it worked. So now it's put back together exactly the way it was before and it works. Why could that be?
  10. Sorry, B350M Gaming Pro And I don't have a mobo speaker so I've never gotten a POST beep. As I said, all I can see is the thing lighting up red, which never seems to be a good sign.
  11. Was playing a game when suddenly the video feed shut off. Reset the computer and nothing happened. Then I realized no LEDs were turning on but the computer was still whirring to life. Popped open the hood and tried it, and therein I saw the problem. No fans were spinning up. Case fan, CPU heatsink, even graphics card. None of them would start up when I pressed the power button. Though the motherboard lit up red, the power supply started, and my hard drive spun up, none of the fans would work. How to I resolve this? The MOBO, RAM, and CPU are practically brand new. 12. I was prepared to go and buy a new board. if I get it and it turns out to be the cpu I'm gonna cry.
  13. Definitely not on the drive, as not even the bios is anywhere to be found
  14. Yes, tried on my tv, tried another chord. No go.
  15. Hi all. Just recently my gaming pc came to a screeching halt when I turned it on and there didn't seem to be any POST. there was no display. optical drives and hard drives spun up, sounded like the system was booting normally, but no display. also, I don't have a motherboard speaker so don't ask. I went blind. So I tried switching ram slots, switching ram modules, I tried a different display, I removed the graphics card and tried the igpu, i reset the cmos, changed the cmos battery entirely. Even let the system sit for a while unplugged in case it just had the sniffles. Nothing yielded any results. I've ruled out the ram and graphics card, I feel like if the processor was fried it wouldn't power on at all, and my temps never even approached tjunction while under load, so I feel like it must have been the board that went. My question is do you guys think I need to just go out and buy a new board or am I making a mistake? In case you're wondering about the specs: ASUS M5A 78L-M/USB3.0 motherboard AMD FX-8320E OC'd to 3.8GHz Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 8GB Kingston HyperX 1333 DDR3 EVGA GTX 670 Signature 2
  16. Upped the voltage. New problem. The moment the test starts, both Core Temp and CPU-Z report all cores going down to 2.8GHz, only occasionally and momentarily jumping up to 4GHz.
  17. No, I switched out for a Hyper 212 EVO. I kept a close eye on temps when running all tests. Though, I never really get a chance to when running P95. What confuses me is that CPU-Z's stress test runs like a breeze.
  18. Hey guys I'm new to overclocking so I'm trying to be careful with this. Before I go any further, here are the specs I'm working with: ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 AMD FX-8320E Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO EVGA GTX 670 Signature 2 16GB Kingston HyperX 1866 DDR3 275GB Crucial SSD Corsair CX600 I wanted to get a bit more out of my processor so I tried cranking the clock speed. At stock she runs a base of 3.2GHz and a max turbo of 4GHz. I clocked it at 4GHz on all cores, disabled cool'n'quiet as well as turbo boost, and she runs through Cinebench as well as a CPU-Z stress test without issues. What puzzles me, is that as little as two seconds after starting a Prime95 torture test, the system forcibly reboots. I've been having other strange issues as well. I set the voltage to about 1.35V to go at 4.1GHz, and CInebench and CPU-Z would test fine, about an hour later of just watching videos, she just forcibly restarted. Had the exact same issue earlier at 4.2GHz. Another weird thing I noticed, before the former two events, is that when trying to run Cinebench at 4.3GHz, the temps would be fine, but I noticed the clock speed would occasionally plummet to about 1.5GHz and slowly climb back up, giving the benchmark a really low score. What's causing all of this?
  19. Well, as a little update, I replaced the battery, still nothing. Board is dead. Today I picked up an AM3+ board to go a different direction. Gonna go with FX for a while, then switch to Ryzen.
  20. I'm almost ready to dismiss incompatibility with the graphics card, as I also tried a GTS 250 on it to no avail. I'll look for another battery.
  21. I've removed the battery and put it back in, I've considered replacing the battery though I don't know if it'll work. The mobo's manual seems to urge me to find the right CMOS battery to avoid explosions. Literally.
  22. I am indeed using the output on the graphics card, using HDMI to view it on my TV. Problem is it never beeps. Not even if I remove the RAM. Nothing.
  23. Just got a few parts together for a PC but I'm having some trouble with it. I push the power button, all fans start spinning (SPU, PSU, graphics card) but no video signal, and no beep. I've tried switching RAM slots, switching RAM, removing RAM all together I've tried switching the processor I've tried switching the graphics card. Nothing gets me any closer. Switching the processor did seem to fix an odd issue where upon powering it on the graphics card seemed to breathe (surge power then quiet down, making go incredibly loud then quiet, constantly) but beyond that, no change. The parts are quite mismatched and the processor is quite old to avoid ANY compatibility issues that there may be with the motherboard, as of now all I'm trying to get the thing to do is POST. I'm using an MSI P4N SLI-FI mobo Pentium 4 531 @ 3GHz EVGA GTX 670 Sig 2 Is there anything else it may be? Is there anything else I can try before searching for a replacement motherboard?
  24. I've tried everything short of resetting the DNS servers and reinstalling Windows. I've tried running it on every browser. Firefox, Edge, Chrome, even Steam, none of them work. Tor works fine, still have no idea why. Based on that, I tried connecting to TorGuard and opening Firefox through a proxy (this is after reinstalling FF and completely clearing it out mind you), same issue. I ran AdwCleaner, and while it detected and deleted a few things, it did not resolve the issue. Reinstalling the OS SHOULD work in theory but what's driving me insane is WHY this is happening in the first place, and WHY only Tor works.
