All you people constantly bitching about whether or not a title is click-bait or the thumbnail of all things, simple question for you. Why the hell are you still watching? Obviously you are not of fan of how LMG does business, why are you watching? Just stop watching and stop supporting content you obviously have a problem with.

I don't see anything wrong with this title, he said he was replacing every pc in his house with "this" and in the video he does that and shows what "this" is and how it works. Nothing about this title was false or a lie. Just because he doesnt say "I replaced every pc with a Gigabyte MZ32-AR0 and Ryzen 7502P" does not make the title click bait.

This is the kind of classic LTT content I watch for, Linus solving an incredibly niche problem most people would never even dream of, in the most overkill balls to the wall method possible, screw ups included. If by the end of this vid you weren't thinking "damn thats some cool tech" and all you could think about was a stupid title or thumbnail then you are obviously not fans the channel or the content and you should just leave. Spare yourself the anger and spare the rest of us from having to listen to it.

The official answer is No but you can squeeze one in albeit improperly. I was able to fit the 15mm drive in the right side with an additional 7mm drive on the left side. The top screw of the hard drive metal housing can no longer screw in. it miss-aligns about 1mm, Only the left side of the metal holding can slide into the feet holders. However it's so packed in there with cables I'm not worried about the housing moving out of place. I put some tape just in case, it's probably not necessary.

BTW, you can't mount the hard drive on the outside of hard drive housing either. There are outdents on the housing to prevent that.

Didn't get auto billed for this months floatplane, cant access the forum page or repurchase my subscription through floatplane.com, just getting a "whoop's something went wrong, try again later error" after clicking purchase. Who do I talk to get this resolved?

For me Floatplane was never about the increased image quality or the lack of ads, or even early access to be honest (are we getting early access, or are YouTube just getting it late?), it was about the community.

Another thing that you just brought up that makes this seem a bit fishy is like you say LTT staff have been engaging in the Floatplane section on the forum, surely if it was just a bug that we still had access, they wouldn't have bothered

i have preferred the forum to watch videos because of the increased audience engagement, even the ltt staff have posted they often will engage audience on the forum and not the floatplane website.  I also recall we where told we would maintain a section on the forum.  Please bring it back.

I also liked the forum still better than the dedicated website, mainly because I could much more easily track which videos I did or did not watch (I clicked Like on any and all I watched).
But also the discussions on certain videos on the forum where just that much better, the comments section just isn't suitable for lengthy in dept discussions.
And when the Floatplane uploads are not working I always appreciated the forum posts from @RILEYISMYNAME with the YouTube video so could still easily and directly view the video without waiting for the upload to be fixed and more importantly without going to YouTube myself.
And a final reason that I'll mention why I still prefer the forum: the site simply is just still quite buggy for me now and again, while most of the times it works perfectly fine sometimes it doesn't. Like currently when I open https://www.floatplane.com/channel/linustechtips/home at first I do see a list of videos but after a second or so they disappear and I have to click the Videos tab first to be able to actually select a video.

Also to be clear, I certainly do not dislike the Floatplane website I actually kind of like it however, I simply like the forum more because it fits my use case better.
And I also do understand why it currently is like it is with the reasons given here and elsewhere and I accept this current situation but I very much hope that this will change in the not so distant future.

    this is BS.

The website still doesn't work for me. on ultrawide, it's just ugly - mainly due to the fact that there is no dark-mode. I get a big white-ish boarder around videos.

The thumbnail-cancer is also real and due to a lack of consistent colors, it makes the overview kinda messy. it works for youtube because they use the text below the videos and not on the thumbnail with just a black-ish background. also, those thumbnails are way smaller.

for me it is a dealbreaker. I really want to support LMG and also FPC, but the lack of UI customization (show videos as a list, dark mode etc.) makes me really not want to use it.

another thing which is annoying is that pages take ages to load, I stare for at least 2 seconds on a blank screen with no information (to reproduce: click on a video, then go back via browser...). you know - prerender is a thing and it's a possibility for a reason.

if i'm lost somewhere and i click the logo on the top i get refered to the homepage (which probably lists videos of all subscribed creators) but I only see 5 Items, so I have to do 1 more click to get to the lmg channel (before staring at whitespace for about 2 seconds....).

    edit:
while talking about design I just started up a video.
open 2 browsers: left one you have a fpc-video playing, the other one you load a youtube video.
do you notice the navigation above the video? this creates some space so you don't have the feeling that your video isn't cut on the top. on floatplane the video is directly under the bookmark bar - this makes the video seem to cut of in the top. add some padding here on the top - or even better use the space.

all in all it still feels like an alpha version. Let me tell you this: no one will care about how good the service is - when the UX is bad no one will appreciate your work

While I agree that his content is becoming (overall, but there are exceptions) worse, and their branding and marketing tactics have become worse (shitty thumbnails that are  SOMETIMES clickbait, shitty titles that are super vague and don't give enough info that you even KNOW what the topic is, etc).

You have to remember one thing. Just because we're forum users, doesn't mean we're his only fans. You've been a forum member since September 2015. Does that mean you weren't a fan before September 19th, 2015? Does that mean I'm a bigger fan then you are, because I joined the forums on March 9, 2013, a good 2.5 years before you?

    No.

Case in point: The forums only have ~400,000 users - which about 70,000 of them were created in the last 6 months. Linus has, what, 3 Million subs? 3.5 Million subs. In addition to that, his most popular videos get well over 500,000 views, often over 1 Million views. That means there are, at minimum, between 100,000 and 600,000 additional "fans" that never even touch the forums.

Also, how do we define a fan? The "core audience"? I don't think I've been a part of the core audience for like 2 years now. The core audience seems to be young (8-14 would be my guess) kids who love the over-the-top stupid silly goofy "fake" thing that LMG has started to adopt.

I'm a rational adult, who likes the odd naturally occurring goofy moments (Eg: Linus' face when Raja Kouduri dropped the first ever shown off RX480), but prefers a more professional, and passionate content. I want good info, that's well researched, and presented clearly. I don't want half-assed content that helps nobody, but looks neat, and therefore gets views.

But hey, maybe I'm not the target viewer anymore?

My point is that, while we CAN AND SHOULD voice our constructive criticism and distaste towards the channel and the direction they're choosing, we cannot assume that "we" (moreso, you, on an individual basis) are the "main" fans. Or are "bigger" fans then those on YouTube, or those on the forums here who like the new content.
