  1. if you're used to the windows UI and but want to give linux a shot, try mint. If it had a motto, it'd probably be something like: "i like the way windows looks but i want to try linux" here's a download link: https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php
  2. It makes this kinda misleading if you say that you can store profiles directly on your peripheral but when their servers go down you lose your profiles that "were saved on your peripheral" Its kinda like lying to everyone who thought they could save their profiles on their peripheral and not worry about server outages. BTW: Corsair FTW
  3. Have Taran revisit the DIY 2nd keyboard with more functionality such as double-tap keys (he referred to it at the end of the first video but it'd be cool to see it in action
  4. Thanks dude i'll try and keep you posted on the NAS status!
  5. thanks! so i could in theory install open media vault and continue the setup process as if i was on a pi?
  6. Thanks dude i wasn't aware of how may pi alternatives there are! i read the chart and saw that the banana pro is running bananian. is that pre installed when you get the unit or do you install it yourself on the banana when you get it? (because the OS i'd be using for the NAS is open media vault and i just wanted to know if i could load any OS i wanted) thanks!
  7. so i'm moving into a new house in a few weeks and i was thinking about making a NAS out of the newest rasp pi for my brother and mom to drop files onto since he always complains about not having space on his phone. i read a few tutorials on how to do it, (some of which included installing a completely different OS that isn't raspbian) and just wanted to know if there's anyone in the LTT community that has made a NAS out of a pi before and if there's anything i should know before buying everything (the pi, a microsd card, and a storage drive) i know some tutorials recommend getting a 2.1 amp wall wart for the pi so more power can be supplied to the pi at once, but if anyone knows of anything else that i should know, feel free to quote this topic or reply with any helpful TIPS (insert bad linus smile) that i should know. Thanks!
  8. the best thing i can recommend is probably getting windows 10 or going to r/techsupport (tech support subreddit) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. either check your BIOS and if it's not that then it might be the OS does ryzen officially support windows 7? cause it might be like kaby lake where it only supports windows 10 officially
  10. drop the 480 and get a 1050 ti, the pentium might bottle neck the 480 or get a 460
