  1. I know that a VPN would help with the purchase but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to enjoy the book afterwards because to read it I would need to use some kind of app - kindle or kobo books or whatever. I'm wondering whether they would let me read it or if it just wouldn't show up in my library. I thought I would ask rather than risking wasting 12$.
  2. Hello, I would like to buy and e-book called "To Hell and Back: The Classic Memoir of World War II by America's Most Decorated Soldier" by Audie Murphy. For some strange reason, I can't buy it in my country from anywhere in e-book form. I've found several websites where it says the book IS NOT available in Slovakia but it can be bought on the US version of the websites. If I bought it, could I read it? If I tried to open it on an app (Kobo books app or kindle for example), would they lock me out of the book I bought just because I'm in a region it's not supposed to be available in? Do you have experience with something like this?
  3. I've sent a mail to modhouse, I asked them about the shipping cost and whether my NX4 will be enough. I've found this reddit post asking the same question and the answer was yes, a guy there said he's running it at around 12 o'clock on low gain so I hope it's true. I'll try out your suggestions, ideally along with the T60RPs although they are a bit hard to get here, and see. Now, just from looking around on the internet, it seems to me that these 2 are fantastic headphones exactly in my price range which makes them ideal except the wait time and shipping cost of the Argons and semi openness of the T60RPs. You helped me a bunch, no need to apologize my Canadian buddy, eh?
  4. OOF, I started googling them and went down the rabbit hole. It's 3:27 am here and I'm not done yet. Thank you very much though, because now I'm deciding just between the Argons Mk3 and Fostex T60RP. The only thing keeping me from jumping on the T60RPs is that they are semi-open. I'll need to ask around how much sound do they leak and how much outside noise they let through. I'll probably go for them anyway just because I would have to wait more than 2 months and pay very expensive shipping from the US for the Argons.
  5. Thanks a lot, I'll definitely try these out when I get the chance. The B&O H6 Generation 2 look fantastic. I'm a bit worried abut the Sony MDR 1A though, they look like MSR7's twins. I also think about Audio-Technica ATH-A990Z and B&W P7. Although B&W P7 would strech my budget a bit, I could get them for 349€, I've read and heard great things about them. Do you have more suggestions or an opinon on the ATH-A990Z?
  6. Thank you for your suggestion but Bowers & Wilkins PX still costs 389€ - 399€ here. I don't need special features like active noise cancelling or wirelesness. I have Topping NX4 DSD amp/dac so even high imedance headphones shouldn't be a problem.
  7. Hey, so I've been suffering the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 headphones for a year now (they get very uncomfortable after ~ 2 hours). They sound great, much much better than the HyperX Cloud 2 I had before but what good is it if I can't wear them. I'm looking for closed back headphones with similar or better sound quality for around 300€ that I can actually wear comfortably. I might go for Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO but it would feel like a downgrade and the OPPO PM-3 is too expensive. Please give me some suggestions.
  8. I straightened it, now it looks 99% perfect BUT the sound is a bit broken. It sounds the same as before only when i press the jack in a certain direction, when I dont touch it it sounds horrible. Maybe I can figure something out to hold it like that all the time but now that it looks almost flawless I can try to get it back to the shop I bought it from and get them to repair it for free because it still has 21 months of warranty left (please cross your fingers so that they will accept it).
  9. Unfortunately the cable is not replaceable but I have a few old phones lying around so I can try to straighten it with one of those first.
  10. Thank you for your replies, I will try to straighten it first, if it breaks off no harm done because it was broken anyway, then try to solder it and even if I mess it up I can still take it to a repair shop.
  11. Today I woke up to my phone lying on the floor with my earphones still plugged into it so because the phone probably fell on the jack it bent pretty badly (I got woke and went broke, hahaaa). I would like to know if soldering on a new jack is the only solution which I would like to avoid because I've never done it before and I don't want to mess it up and if it was the only solution, how much (or if at all) would it degrade the sound quality. Buying new earphones is obviously not an option.
  12. Thank you for the reply, I know about the issue, it's mentioned in this review https://audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-topping-nx4-dsd-dac-and-portable-headphone-amplifier.3507/ The reviewer said that "Channel imbalance in mid-frequencies where our hearing is most sensitive is 0.06 dB so not a concern.", and later that the channel imbalance is noticeable only at "the extreme low end of the volume level, close to muting ". I also looked into the iFi Nano DSD Black Label and it has great reviews but it also costs 60€ more than the NX4 so I would still prefer the NX4. What do you think about the headphones? Do you have another suggestion for a dac/amp around 140-150€?
  13. Hello, I'm an audio noob so I need some help with choosing the right dac/amp and some good closed back headphones. I've read the The Audio Board's Recommended Gear and Before you buy amp and DAC + recommendations topics and they helped me only a bit. The reason I want a DAC is that I'm getting tired of the hissing sound in my Cloud IIs and the reason I want and an AMP is that I want to buy better headphones soon. I chose the Topping NX4 DSD because I like its specs a lot and maybe I'll sometimes use it on the go too. The problem s that I will use it with pc probably 95% of the time so I want to know how reasonable it is to purchase a small portable amp/dac just to use it on PC. I looked into the Schiit Fulla 2 but it has worse specs than the Topping and would cost me just as much if not more. I would greatly appreciate other suggestions. The headphones i would like to upgrade to are most probably the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 or maybe something more expensive like the Oppo PM-3, Shure SRH1540 or Beyerdynamic DT 1770 PRO. With these I would like to know how much of an upgrade it i from the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 to the more expensive ones and if it's worth twice as much money. Recommendations for other good closed back headphones in the 200€ to 500€ range would be very much appreciated too.
  14. You can buy headphones for much much more, the thing is that these normally cost around 200€ more and in my country around 250€ more, as I explained above.
  15. Hello, so today I found an unbelievable deal on amazon.de, available form a seller. It was oppo pm-3 headphones for 329€ (+13€ for shipping, so 342€ in total), which is around 250€ less than the cheapest offer for these I am able to buy in my country. The problem is that after I put them in my cart, I wasn't able to find the offer again. It still sits in my cart, for the same price, but the offer just disappeared from here https://www.amazon.de/gp/offer-listing/B00V87W084/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all&qid=1534024532&sr=8-1 Also it's interesting how fast it disappeared because they said they had 5 more of these in their inventory. Is it possible they just sold out that fast? Is it possible that if they all sold out, I won't be able to get them even though they are still in my cart? Is it safe for me to still continue with the purchase? Could it be a scam? What would you suggest I do? I would love to buy these headphones for that price but it seem too good to be true and the fact that I can't find it anymore except in my shopping cart doesn't help.
