  1. Guys, I decided to upgrade my microphone to record some music and do some streams. Here's the question: what's most cost-effective for the same money? USB or XLR + DAC? A more expensive USB mic or a cheap XLR combo? I know the differences but all I care is sound quality. I would really appreciate if there's a sheet or something "best microphone audio quality by price tag" including USB mics and XLR combos on the same price. Thank you in advance!
  2. After hearing to some recommendations, I decided to consider a gigabyte mobo for my new build with a 9700k. However, searching for info here and there, it was my observation that many users said they had terrible experiences with gigabyte bios and were much happier since they moved to a different brand. So, since I'm considering a gigabyte, I was wondering, is it that bad? Are there real compromises or it's just that it takes more work/time to config it? I really don't mind a one-time work. Once I get the job done I'm good? But are people picking a different brand just so they don't lose 10 or 20 more minutes on the initial config?
  3. Why are they better? In that case I could either go z390 prime A or 370 hero with wifi for the same price. Which would be better?
  4. What would be pros of going for a z390? For reference the prime a z390 here is the same price as the maximum hero z370
  5. I'm getting myself a new computer and trying to pick the mobo. I'd like the most features possible and don't care much about the small price differences. So I'm between Prime A and ROG Strix E/F. I use cable for internet, but having wifi, bluetooth and etc is welcome since I often go to friends houses and such. Ah, and yeah, rgb and looks are also welcome. Also, is it true rog strix has better audio? Btw, actually the rog strix is now cheaper than the prime A in my country. The parts will 9700k, 1080ti, 2x16 trident z 3200, nvme samsung 970 evo, seagate barracuda 2tb, power supply rmx 850w, noctua dh-u14s and, in case it matters (not pun intended) the case is the cosmos c700p. Thank you in advance!
  6. But it has 5ms gtg even though it's TN? I can't find the input lag for this monitor anywhere, but 5ms response time is way too much for me :(. For now VX248H was the best I could find, 1ms response time, 10ms input lag (middle) for 120$, flicker free and kinda stylish. But it's old, so I suppose much better monitors are out there for the price.
  7. I'm looking for something half of that price. Also f/g-sync are undesirable since I don't have a compatible GPU on that computer. It's not my main computer, It's a setup I bring around to help on game tournaments, so I just need the best cost benefit 60hz TN I can get for up to 125$.
  8. So, before anybody tell me to get IPS, I have IPS and I don't like it. For me the 5ms response time is way too noticeable and a smoother experience is much more important than image quality. Also good IPS and good 120~144hz are much more expensive while great 60hz TN panels are cheap. So I just want a good 60hz TN monitor and prolly overclock it to 70~76hz. That said, I'm considering Asus VX248H. Do anyone have better sugestions for the price tag?
  9. AR is about equivalent to 30 usd cheaper here and I can't find Z270-A anywhere, so I'm basically trying to find out if it's 100% ok to go AR instead of A. I wouldn't like to lose something important (like audio or RGB, since I'm going full aura rgb).
  10. I'll be buying a new setup next month and the cheapest place on my country is out of Z270-A's, but they have Z270-AR. So, what's lost by going AR instead of A? So far from what I observed (from asus site and other fonts) you lose: 1. Onboard DVI-D and display port (which doesn't matter if you're using a GPU that has those, right?). 2. Also it seems the A model has 2 out of it's 3 PCI-e slots with some reinforced material, while AR have only 1 out of 3 (it's suppose to support the GPU, so if you're only using 1 GPU, no reason to have a second reinforced slot, right?). 3. It also seems that the AR model doesn't come with the so called asus q-shield, which is a piece of metal to "prevent you from cutting your fingers"?. 4. You lose the EZ XMP switch, which only means you'll have to config your ram manually. 5. AR comes with Aura RGB Strip Header, which doesn't come with the A model. Why is that? Also, I saw some people here having troubles with getting the RGB to work properly on AR (didn't check if people had problems with A as well). You guys know what's it all about? Thank you in advance.
  11. So I get that faster ram helps, which is a very desirable. But what about more ram? Is there any tests in the same circumstances (cpu-bound) in which more ram is used instead? What I usually do is a lot of multi + gaming, like having more than one game open at the same time, while using image softwares and lots of tabs in google chrome. Not many games I play are too heavy, the heaviest would be mmos in which there are too many characters moving on the screen. But ofc I would like to have a setup able to run heavier games. I wonder if it's worth to spend more and get 32 of faster ram.
  12. It'll cost me about as much. The mobo is a Asus Strix 270e. Should I get 16gb from G.Skill (C16 3600) or 32gb from Crucial (C16 2400)? Also, if I buy 1x16 and another 1x16, will dual channel work or it has to be paired? Thanks in advance!

    Air Coolers

How do you guys choose your air coolers? Are there tests and benchmarks I can dig in to see what's better for me? Also, is it worth it to add additional coolers? How much do they help? Should I put more money on the CPU cooler or making sure there are more addicional coolers in the case? Thanks in advance.
  14. Ok, you guys have convinced me, I'll get a Z270 and overclock! Just maybe not much, maybe 4.7 on CPU. About the ram, I really need to learn more about it, surpassing the 2400 mobo cap is a new thing in my mind, I'll make some reads here and there. Hmmm, good point. I was thinking of selling the 1070 when the new nvidia card comes out and buying the new 80 version, but maybe 1070 sli will be better than a single new 80 version. In that case having a Z270 would be truly handy. Thanks!
  15. Aren't both Z270 and B250 capped to 2400? The very mobo can be oc'd over 2400? About not overclocking CPU, I saw two benchmarks (stock vs. oc 5.1 ghz) in which performance difference were not so big. Also I think I'd have to spend more on the cooling system. Is it worth it? I saw some overclock tests too that the 7700k began to overheat at 5.0 ghz, which is not so much more than stock, so I thought leaving it at stock could be a good idea..
