  1. You're playing 1080p and 60hz i wouldn't bother going higher than a 980ti, its not like games are utilising all the latest features on new GPUs still to this day, if you're expecting games to use the new RT technology on the day they drop then you're mistaken as it takes time for these things to happen. Even new titles wont be utilizing these technologies baked into out current cards... i mean look at Vulcan and DX12 barley being used and the odds of a new fps game being released that's gonna rival what we have/play already within a few years is slim especially using the features of this card. If you're at 1080p 144hz then maybe get the gtx1080 but again if you're doing competitive gaming odds are your gfx settings are low for highest fps and lowest input/ouput lag so a 980ti is more than enough. So i'd recommend something that will do the job and a little bit more on top and wait for the prices to drop. With the money you saved in a years time buy a RTX 2060 which will probably be on par or somewhat faster than the gtx 1080 at less than half the price and with better features that and also reduced price because the newer GPUS will be out at that point so its double savings and the only thing you have "lost" is bragging rights that you can play on "Ultra 5K with 40FPS" but not have the rest of the equipment/hardware to benefit it and most importantly you wont be play fps games with those settings. Hope my opinion is informative, GL with your decisions.
  2. Just a quicky on this I have this board and as fantastic as it is, RGB and aura sync is kinda dog shit. I've uninstalled mine so now i have the default rainbow effect. Apart fromt hat being B350 you do have to mess with OCs a little more than you'd expect but in the end the results are worth it. As I now have my "WAMS" at 3200mhz. Pros: OC skills learned over time Cons: Dont expect XMP to always work as easy as it should DOCP sometimes needs help Just a heads up
  3. It will, work, but not to it's full potential. It will be capped, the CPU wont get damaged, but it may put more strain on your mobo, as it's having to deliver all the CPU power. Use a 4pin so that Turbo Boost can kick in
  4. Sounds like its not software related especially if it happening from boot. RAM is volatile so when the board loses power the RAM loses power too, which mean no data can be stored. (Count to 20, so the energy can dissipate) Either one of your sticks have gone faulty, or the Siege application has been corrupted, do File/Game Verification for Siege if it only uses that much ram when the game is launched. If you're talking about vRAM then that is normal for Ultra settings. If it's happening before you launch siege then I'd use windows RAM testing utility or the BIOS version if you have one, if that fails then you might have to reinstall windows, Also on that board you might have a utility called RAM Cache II/III check that hasn't been modified and using more ram. GL
  5. If you got the Money for a B350 I'd do that anyway, but.... You should not need to do that as that board should be working, was it working before?
  6. Oh crap yeh ofc, mb on the GPU. Erm I'm sugesting try the ram method, but after you reset the CMOS. See here for details: https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/A320M-PRO-VHL.html#down-manual
  7. I play this game, it depends on the amount of visitors/citizens in the city. Basically how many different things its simulating, on that CPU you're looking to have issues past 4 tiles /40k population. Also if you're using a HDD check that your active time/access time isn't continuously high. Graphics setting wont really do much on the CPU as far as i've noticed, but i have a decent GPU so I can't really comment on that. But you could try v-sync and hopefully there arn't many draw calls and drop settings to Medium preset. As you have a CPU/GPU Combo = APU If you're on a laptop that could improve the situation cause the RAM is shared so it could be slowing it down if your RAM usage is above 85%
  8. Have you tried to reset the BIOS using the Clear CMOS button/jumper. Are you sure you've plugged the screen into the right port? Have you tried to use 1 DIMM of ram and then swap it with the other one and try again to see if the rams faulty. (So far thats my strongest suspicion) Does it turn on and off when posting minimum 5 times (Ryzen tires to find the right "settings" if it fails it should go to default regardless of the bios). Have you tried booting without the GPU installed?
  9. That's changed, it's linked to your MS account now. You just have to select the option to on the activation thing to say this PC is my main PC and the other one doesn't exist.
  10. If you're running windows 10 you're good to go. It brings you back to the "Welcome. We're just getting things ready" screen and then you carry on as normal.
  11. Depends on the user and what you want out of it. Monitor: You can have a wide range of resolutions and panels Gaming 24"ish is about the sweetspot Crativity 34" ultrawides are nice TV: 1080p or 4K (not all hz are supported) Using TVs is ok but not so much for content creation and especially not for gaming multiplayer gaming that requires fast reactions.
  12. Is this why they stopped mentioning fractal as sponsors?
  13. True they have less ads and background bloating too, but thats about it
