I do not like this. It should be called the 980 Evo instead. I know TLC has come a long way, but I still prefer MLC (or if I can get my paws on it, SLC).
Gotta admit of all the SSD's I've bought over the years I never once looked at the type of memory they had and if you put them all together, even the older ones, guarantee I wouldn't be able to tell the difference on day to day use.

Once lived in a place with 10mbps internet for $80 a month (since moved to gigabyte for $100 a month) and this would have been spectacular there, if the full release pricing is any good. Hughe's net or whatever is probably gonna be put out of business. All the crappy dial-up or slow DSL providers should be shaking. I hope Elon delivers, and that the speeds improve. I wouldn't mind living in a wooden hut if I could get decent satellite internet

They not only want to have data caps, but also want to impede net neutrality. Geez. If the FCC allowed this, for one I'd be happy to not live in the US and for another the US would lose their last sympathy points, if there were any left of course.
I mean, who the f*** wants a limit enforced on them?! Who?
could just move to another part of the US... there's 57237 internet companies here, it's the crappy monopoly ones in populated cities you always hear about because there's more people to complain about

Why do you want a company to fail?
And I don't think the Chinese government can help them. Even if they somehow manage to build a semicon fab it still won't be on par with what US companies can do.
I want any CCP backed company to fail. Which includes a disturbingly increasing amount of USA companies too.

the fact cheap labor beats out any shred of integrity and desire to keep your crap to yourself continues to boggle my mind

this should have been nvme based, rebuilding an array with these drives would take 28H on the 50TB version assuming constant 500MB/s which wont happen
that still sounds pretty fast

this is my most hated trend of games these days
This and the heavy push toward subscription models. Although I'm sure selling us a small box to play games on the cloud so we never own digital media again is their ultimate goal

I wonder if the power brick will still be outside or if they finally included it
PS3 and PS4 never had a power brick...
Man this thing is pretty ugly but thanks to Halo coming to PC at long last there's no reason for me to get an Xbox, so PS5 it is for ratchet and clank and hopefully new god of war 2

I agree, USB-C is nice to have but if a product doesn't have it, it really isn't a deal breaker for me
it should be. I'm starting to ignore some things that don't have USB-C, but thankfully everybody is moving over to it. I'm glad Nintendo knew enough to use it for the switch and controllers

Within reason, anyway. Making space more accessible and useful for more than just exploration is good; we don't want a wave of Weyland-Yutanis that continue the exploitation we've seen on Earth, just with asteroid mines.
why not? asteroids should be exploited instead of Earth

Yeah this is just a blatant ripoff. They couldn't even bother changing the UI lmao.
That being said, would this being a mobile game with no ubisoft alternative on that platform be sufficiently enough to determine that its valid? I can't really see if this will make a major impact on ubisoft sales if their game is only on PC/Console and not on mobile
really depends how much apple and google want to bend over for china, if it's possible for them to bend over more

While the idea is rather horrifying, so far only SpaceX is the only company that's shown themselves capable of launching these huge satellite constellations and that was after years of delays and they're still nowhere near giving us their internet. I don't believe for a second we'll see it in 2020.
At least this thing will take forever to happen, if it ever does, and I sure hope it doesn't. Suddenly our menial worry of internet privacy will be pretty funny when satellites are watching humanity's every move.

if only Crysis had any memorable qualities besides running at 10FPS on a $3000 computer

Gotta admit, I haven't noticed a single difference from when it was enacted and when it wasn't. My ISP's been total garbage throughout all of it. I do remember them slapping us with data caps the day the FCC enacted net neutrality, and those haven't gone away.

Man I love Halo 1, I feel like I'm actually shooting something. All the new Halo games make you feel like you're shooting cardboard, nothing ever reacts to your bullets

still astounding to me how easily any company is willing to bend over and spread wide while begging for it when it comes to China

I remember thinking I had to change my resolution when I started the game, but it was already running at 1440p and the "remastered" menus just looked that bad. I did the first level and realized the only thing that changed were the HD models, which did look alright but this wasn't nearly the remaster that even Starcraft 1 was.
And how in the world did they manage to screw up original Warcraft 3 players with the release of a remaster? That has to be a first for any gaming company, ever

I'm not so sure why everyone has such a hard on for projekt red, they've made exactly 1 good game that still isn't as good as Skyrim despite being 4 years newer, and the games they've released before competed badly with the likes of Skyrim, Dark Souls, Mass Effect, Oblivion, and on a stretch timeline, Knights of the old Republic

There was a huge difference from 60 to 144, but I didn't notice nearly as much of a difference from 144 to 240. I can't fathom there will be a big one at 360 Hz, but the only game I can think of that my computer can play at that FPS is CS: Go and that might be the only game that does benefit from that many FPS
