Going to be really interesting when nothing changes, because I don't feel like enacting net neutrality changed anything. My ISP at the time just slapped us with a data cap.

What do people use home servers for?
Eaglerino replied to hardtofindinthefuture's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
I use mine as a personal cloud and hosting game servers -
I think we're going to be disappointed with what it really is But maybe I'll be wrong, Blizzard just hasn't been very hopeful for me since Diablo 3

This feels so fake, a Diablo 2 remaster is way more likely than a Warcraft 3 remaster or Warcraft 4

I want to be annoyed but I've been with Verizon since my first cellphone in the early 2000s because they're the only carrier to have continuous service on the interstates where I drive and that doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon

That would be the dream, but without the writers of the first one I feel we'd get another Andromeda in Star Wars form- 32 replies

Free speech or no free speech, there is no in between. I don't live in Britain but if I did, I wouldn't support something that's this anti free speech. It'll start with pro-ISIS, then the next extremism is any government opposition

I don't know about other countries laws but how would that work? "Oh Mr Household, your energy spiked, can we intrude on your private living quarters and make sure you aren't bitcoin mining so we know whether or not to tax the crap out of you?" I know energy spikes can also mean they're growing drugs, but I would hope Iceland has a different process to searching your house that requires more proof than using energy

How is you supervising him going to stop him from driving you off the highway? Amazon would just send it to you again, like they do if UPS or USPS lose a package. My friend gets same day delivery from people like this all the time and has yet to have an issue, his bigger issue is neighbors stealing his packages (caught them on camera more than once). I don't think this is really a worry, generally people aren't bad people and if someone does steal your package it isn't going to go unnoticed for long

You buy the hardware, you're also buying a license for the software. That license usually comes with clauses, like you buy own single copy of the software and will not share it and will not modify it. You probably agree to this, on whatever device, when you tap "I agree to terms and conditions" when it boots up

They kind of are gambling, you spend money then that money disappears and you're given some arbitrary worth that the part of whatever company you bought will still be worth some kind of money in the future. I mean there's laws preventing a company from dipping too far in a single day before they have to close trading so at least it's not going to be a Bitcoin or actual gambling risk, but everyone knows investing is a risk

When Fornite makes you so much money you can afford to refund Paragon people just to make sure there's no complaints. But there's probably not too many people who bought it in comparison anyway

The $15 version of the game is still available The game's always had loot boxes... they had packs before this I don't like Ubisoft too much but this seems like fake news. They finally have one decent game that was supposed to be a cash grab, but they accidentally made it fun and realized they should work with it. So they did, and they made a $15 version with a lengthy but still free way of unlocking more heroes, or pay slightly more for all the heroes (operators I guess). Loot boxes, the bag things, were already there, now they're just adding more. Big... surprise? Not really I can't blame Ubisoft for this one. More and more people buy it, why wouldn't they increase the price? It's among top 10 most played on Steam right now, clearly successful, so it's a good business decision, and Siege is actually a good game. Plus all their loot boxes are cosmetic, and anything that isn't cosmetic can be gained without paying extra later edit: I'm putting this in big letters because some people don't know: Siege has had loot boxes for years now. They're called Alpha Packs. Adding new packs isn't adding predatory loot boxes.
