Speaking of the QK100, it's in stock right now, apparently extras from the group buy that just happened. Looks like a good deal if someone needs a alu 98% board with a screen. 6 months in a group buy sounds way too long for me, I try to get on the short ones, you mentioned QK, their are often 2 months max, my experience with them is less than that. And absolutely agreed on Keychron, it's hard not to be tempted by their lineup, availability and ease of everything really, I think the keyboard community is growing thanks to companies like keychron enticing new people into mechanical keyboards.

Changed keycaps on my Neo65, Hammerhead dark from Ghost Judges. Also took the opportunity to change from O-ring to gasket, I feel no difference when typing TBH, but if I press it hard it is definitely bouncier. Same Boba U4T switches.

Honestly at that price range I would go with some well known group buy, I have seen some that seems to offer more bang for buck, unless I want something ready to use and in a specific layer, which to be fair they basically has them all covered, but as you said, whats the point if I still have to mod it to make it better. I prefer deeper sounds so even on alu cases I always end up using case foam and plate foam, Not a fan of the natural alu case foam but that is just preference. I think I know that thin layer of plastic you are refering to, is like a film, the one uses for old cameras not idea what is that supposed to achieve, insulation for the PCB is a good guess.

I use an Akko 3098B for work, with Akko Jelly black switches, they are pretty good. I have also tried the cream yellow and like them too. good luck with your future build.

Do the Q series not come with silicon dampener? I have a V1 and they do, its a thick silicon sheet. but maybe it makes sense if they want to have the "alu case sound" as a feature.

The Apex is not standard mechanical switches right? I recently got a Neo65 and it has been a lot of fun swapping switches and trying different foams and mounting styles, their group buy is still on, I think, and I got mine delivered in less than 3 weeks. it comes completely disassembled, if you plan to mod and try different things this is ideal for it, and quality wise it would leave the steelseries behind, except for the fast actuation switches on the steelseries. Although you did mention you wanted F row. maybe something like the Monsgeek M3 or M1 or the Cidoo V87, I found out that the more you steer away from gaming brand the better quality product you get, but its all about preferences.

DOIO Megalodon 3 knob Pad. Its really well built, the VIA set up for the 4 layers is so easy and simple to set up.

Wifi speeds are lower than they should be.
Jorgemeister replied to Jorgemeister's topic in Networking
Might be I disabled the wifi on the modem, couldn't find bridge mode and I just turned the wifi off. The speed was the same but then I did some scan with a wifi analyzer app I got and moved the 2.4Ghz to channel 2 which seemed to be free. now Im connected to the TP router and getting 110 Mbps constant, still not as fast but much better. -

An iphone, a tablet, my android phone, and my PC when I change to wifi, usually on speedtest.net and fast.com All of them around 30 to 40 mbps, tested in both 2.4 and 5 gHz. -

It is actually on a bad location, but I have made most of the speed tests int he same room as the router, eve right next to it. -

Interference sounds reasonable, I got a warning on the TP Link app that I should change the modem to bridge mode, I will try that today. My router is definitely in a crap spot, on a corner inside a room on the first floor, but I have measured the speed with my phone right next to the modem and still wont go over 40 mbps. -
I recently changed ISP (Because they offer faster internet speeds) and my wifi speed has been around 30 to 40 Mbps, I pay for 700 Mbps, my PC in plugged in via Ethernet cable to the modem and I get the 700 there without a problem. I thought this was a limit of the crappy ISP modem (Sercomm fg6122tm), it had poor wifi signal anyway, so I bought a router, TP Link Archer AX53, it should do the job but I am still getting the same 30 to 40 mbps with wife, 2.4GHz and 5GHz. What could be causing this? Can I use a coverter like the TP-Link MC210CS to replace my ISP's modem? is that is the problem.

Are those $30 mechanical keyboards worth it?
Jorgemeister replied to Daniel Fernandes's topic in Peripherals
I own one of those 30 bucks keyboards, I forgot the brand its a 60% with arrows, wireless, not hotswap, RGB and honestly it was fun for the price, but as a typing experience of course its lacking, the sound and feel no no where near compared to my more expensive ones, but it was fun to try when I had it, I might even still take it over some overpriced gamer brands. If you are in a budget consider keyboard kits like the Tester68, GMK67 or others from Zouya or Royal Kludge, they will be a bit more but would be a much better product and still not close the the overprice of a gamer brand. I have never tried Redragon but Ive read they are decent. The best you can do is watch videos and reviews about those. -
Keycaps broken after only a year of use.
Jorgemeister replied to Ukhando Ithunzi's topic in Peripherals
Take the opportunity to get quality keycaps, (or a better keyboard, Corsair's arent that good for the price) Iike tall profiles like MT3 from drop and they are good stuff, they won't crack anytime soon, but they can be overpriced if you dont get them on sale. There are other good quality caps out there that wont break in many years, I know because I have a few (a lot) including clones like those from Ghost Judges. The layout might be an issue if Corsair is still doing that weird 1.25u-1u-1.25u-7u-1.25u-1u-1.25u with the lower row, so check is the ctrl-win-alt-spacebar come in those sizes first. -
Good list, I just want to add the Cidoo V87, wireless, Aluminium case, TKL with a knob.
