  1. What other factors just out of curiosity? Considering I'm going more for power gaming, which factors should I keep in mind?
  2. Hi guys, I'm fairly new to PC building, especially picking parts and such and I don't really understand the details of how graphics cards really work. Going through various forums and videos I've seen some people say that their 1070s can get up to around 2100s mhz while most people cannot get the 1080ti over 2050ish. Based on this information would I get a better value if I invest in a 1070 over the 1080ti I'm planning on buying, or are there other factors than clockspeed that I should factor into my purchase. Sorry if this is a dumb question, and thank you.
  3. Okay I think I'll go with that. Thanks for the help!
  4. I was considering the Ryzen 7, however I thought I may benefit from the faster single core speed of the 7700 (I spend literally all my time playing Overwatch and CSGO lol) as opposed to the little content creation I do on the side. I'm not typically rendering at massive file sizes (my school typically likes 1080p or 1440p at largest). Would Ryzen 1700 still be wise? Thank you for the responses by the way!
  5. Hi everyone, I'm trying to build a new PC and was wondering which set up would be better: - i7-7700 + ASUS Maximus IX CODE - i7-6800 + ASUS ROG STRIX X99 GAMING (I know it needs a BIOS Update) My set up would be primarily for gaming however i will do mild content creation (some editing in AE and mild C4D work for school projects). Additionally, if there are any better suggestion you have i would love to hear it. Current budget is about $2300 USD, including the GTX 1080 i plan on using. Thank you for the assistance.
  6. The main dilemma i'm having is since I am constructing a Desk PC (All credit to Linus for the idea haha) I might be better off with liquid cool or AIO, as it would reduce noise and I wouldn't need fans ALL over the place. That being said, I'm planning minor overclocking for possibly mild content creation, thus air might be sufficient. In my situation, what would you recommend?
  7. Hey everyone, I'm trying to build a PC and can't decide whether or not to buy air coolers or do a possibly custom water-cooling loop. My build goes as follows: Intel Core i7-6850K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor Asus X99-A II ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard 2x Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Samsung 950 PRO 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Asus GeForce GTX 1080 8GB STRIX Video Card EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 1000W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply *Please note there is no case as I am custom-building my own. Any feedback would be extremely helpful. Thank you.
