  1. For the price you might be better off with an 8 core ryzen, as it seems UE4 will use as many cores as it can on the developer side. 2. So I was looking at that case, but a lot of reviews (including HWC) showed it had poor functionality. Do you have any experience building in it? If so, how has your experience been?
  3. Unless AMD ignore their mistakes from this release, NaVi should compete against Volta to some degree. With that being said, prices will probably be around where Vega prices are now to be profitable unless HBM2 drops in price or they go with DDRx. The Vega 64 would probably beat your 980s by a significant margin (since performance ignoring power draw, TDP, and price is comparable to the 1080 and SLI support in most gaming applications isn't great), so the NaVi platform probably will as well. But then again, we won't really know until the benchmarks As for the original question, go with the 980 for $180 it's a good deal so you might even be able to break even if you decide to sell if for Volta or NaVi in the future.
  4. I haven't purchased the parts yet so I'll keep that in mind! I forgot to mention, I intend to do hardline and it looks a little tight as it is. I'll try to find some videos on it because the 909 is a very pretty case. Thank you for the help!
  5. 7700k would probably be better if you wanna maximize performance for gaming ONLY. Anything else, Ryzen would be better. Personally, I would wait to see if Coffee Lake is worth buying. I'm purchasing a 1080ti based system such as you are, and I'm waiting for Coffee Lake since it's so close to release. If you insist to go current gen, Ryzen 7 is fine, 7700k would most likely be better, but both bottleneck the 1080ti especially if you don't get a great chip. Hope this helps!
  6. The SLI 980 would be better if you intend to wait. Yes games and such will run a little slower but it's definitely a good deal and should serve your purpose for the time being. However, for a competitive card against the 1080ti you may have to wait a little later than the initial releases. Based on the later release date of the 1080ti compared to other Pascal cards, unless you wish to go with the flagship or middle ground car, you might have to wait around 6 months after the first round of cards for the 2080ti(????). As for Navi, I'm not informed regarding this release, but it may come much sooner due to the underwhelming Vega performance, but be prepared to buy fast because apparently Vega is selling out crazy! Either way you're picking the better of two good options, so you're not really taking a hit whatever you do. Hope this helps!
  7. Definitely a beautiful case, but I've seen some people say space is tight for loops? How was your experience building with it?
  8. That makes sense haha! But yeah that'd be awesome crazy systems are right up our alley!
  9. Thanks for the heads definitely will try to find one to match my aesthetic! Beautiful case by the way!
  10. Daaanng that looks so nice. Did you do that yourself or is there a website/service that makes those? Also is that a side panel or a decal over the glass? Definitely making me consider that 570x more...
  11. Look like something that needs to be in the next episode of HOLY $H!T Linus.
  12. From what I've seen the Meshify can't sustain a full loop. Definitely will check out the Enthoo Pro though. Thanks for the help!
  13. It's beautiful... Too bad I can't manage cables for my life
  14. Hey guys, I was wondering what cases you all would recommend with tempered glass and ample room for a custom loop. I really like the Lian Li (PC 08) and In Win aesthetics, but their lack of functionality (mainly space and airflow) for custom loop users makes them unappealing. Any similar cases or other cases you recommend for a sleek, water cooling set up? Thanks for the help!
  15. Are there any RGB fans with better performance you're aware of? Thank you for the help!
  16. I'm in a peculiarly similar situation as you, upgrading from a 4770k (clocked to 4.2) and upgrading from the SAME EVGA 760 card. Personally, in my upgrade this year, I'm opting to go with the 1080ti for a reason you already mentioned-- it is the undisputed king. Even if you're not a frame chaser, the 1080ti will most likely not face competition and will last you into the future. While taking advantage of FreeSync would be nice, no offering from AMD paired with the monitor should match the 1080ti's performance. The only reason to take the advantage of FreeSync would be for smooth performance. A 1080ti should not have problems with smooth performance; thus, I would go with the 1080ti Hope this helps!
  17. Jesus what kind of workload needs this much power... But in all seriousness crazy build props to you!
  18. Nooo I get the joke I was asking IF the card is binned because I'm unaware. Sorry if it came off as rude.
  19. Are you aware of the card is binned to begin with? I know the lightning, for example, is binned
  20. That's what I thought but just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the clarification.
  21. Unfortunately, I can't find the kingpin anywhere. Thank you for the advice though!
  22. Would the Lightning X or Z be better? Thanks for the quick response!
  23. Hey guys, Building a 1080ti based build fairly soon and I'm picking a card. Stumbled upon Jay's video of the 1080ti Poseidon, and saw it was his highest clock on air. Can that be attributed to lottery/binned by provider? or is it a physical cooling/PCB advantage (sorry if I used the incorrect term; my PC component knowledge is limited). Besides that, I like the overall aesthetic of the card. Is it worth getting over the EVGA FTW3 for these reasons? Thanks for the help in advance!
  24. 1) Ask for a refund stating you purchased the FTW 2) Purchase SC 3) $$$
