  1. Unless the PSU is a bad unit. Then definitely replace it. Because if it breaks, the PC might as well.
  2. You have enough wattage. it’s a blower card, so thermals will be high. The PSU is garbage, so I would replace it with a Corsair CX550M
  3. TR is a crap PSU. Exchange it for a Corsair CXM (2015) Anyhow, to answer your question, PSUs do not power the fans (unless fans are powered via molex). Four pin fan headers are located on your motherboard labeled “system fan”. They will usually have four pins, though some have three. It will still work if you plug the four pin fan into a three pin header. You just lose PWM control.
  4. Nope. Get either of these two: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/FQ648d,Qb8j4D/
  5. 500 watts is plenty, but that PSU is mediocre at best. Terrible value when compared to others in its price range. I would say, before upgrading to any more high end hardware, get at least a Corsair CXM (2015) at minimum. At best, a SeaSonic FOCUS.
  6. Honestly, any SATA cable will break. They're the more flimsy cables (both power and data). When I build PCs, I leave that stuff for last because of how flimsy they are. It's easier than you think. And the P2 is an excellent unit. No need to replace until its no longer under warranty. I think just get regular ones for the PSU for now and simply be more careful with them. Unless you want the fancy sleeved cables.
  7. Just finished rebuilding my truck's whole steering assembly. It steers like a dream now.

  8. Personal experiences don't mean much of anything for power supplies. People have used the SeaSonic S12II for years, but that doesn't make it a good unit. At least with the G2, it is a solid unit. More solid than the G3, which has issues with its OPP and OTP.
  9. More information is needed. But let's see if I can hit all the bases: If you're on a budget: 40-50 USD Corsair CXM (2015) Corsair CX (2017) SeaSonic Focus 450w If you have more money to spend: 60-90 USD EVGA G2 Corsair RMx SeaSonic Focus Plus BitFenix Whisper If you have a lot of money: 100-150 USD SeaSonic PRIME SeaSonic PRIME Ultra Be quiet! Pure power 10 cm If you want bragging rights and/or have money to blow: 200+ USD EVGA SuperNOVA P2/T2 Cooler Master Masterwatt MIJ Corsair HXi 1000+ watt SeaSonic PRIMEs
  10. The SeaSonic FOCUS line is excellent.
  11. This means absolutely nothing. Personal reviews and youtube reviews mean absolutely nothing. The only reviews that matter are the ones that take a apart the PSU, examine its internals and puts the PSU through tests using multi-thousand dollar equipment. There's so much more to a PSU. And it's the last thing you want to want to cheap out on. The EVGA G3 has issues with its Over-Power-Protection and Over-Temperature-Protection, which isn't good compared to the competition. 12. The gold is fine. The Efficiency difference between gold and platinum isn’t significant from a power savings standpoint. Though it may be slightly more quiet. It’s up to you if you want to spend the extra money. Nothing wrong with either. It’ll have those connections except for fans. I don’t know of a motherboard with five system fan headers, so you’ll likely need a fan hub powered via a SATA power connection to get all fans to work. This works great: https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-System-Cables-Black-CPF04/dp/B00VNW556I
  13. That’s good to know. I see it on Tomshardware review, but they don’t seem to make it a big issue.
  14. Typically, Raidmax PSUs aren’t good. There are a few that have surfaced that are good, like this: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=470 But these arent good ones: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=482 https://m.hardocp.com/article/2014/03/18/raidmax_cobra_power_500w_supply_review/9 I am sure there’s more, but finding them on my phone is tedious. Overall, I’d avoid raidmax. If you want a good looking power supply, then here are some options: SeaSonic FOCUS SeaSonic PRIME Corsair RMx BitFenix Whisper It would void your warranty, but you could replace the fans and repaint the PSU shrouds to your desire. But always get a quality PSU, because it’s the only part in your PC that can kill your PC, or in extreme measures, catch on fire.
  15. They’re not designed to be good. They’re designed to just... work. How long? Well, it depends. Some can do a few monthes or some could pop right then and there. PSUs are a very important part of your system. In my eyes, they’re the most important. So definitely get yourself a decent unit to replace the very likely shoddy unit that comes with the case.
  16. Do not get that power supply. It’s OPP is faulty, making it a fire hazard. Get a Corsair RMx, EVGA G3, or a SeaSonic FOCUS.
  17. Brand means nothing when selecting PSUs as any company can make bad/good PSU. Just look at EVGA with it's B3 (it's a fire hazard) For me, I try to spend as much as I can for a good PSU. I bought a SeaSonic PRIME for my PC. If you're on a budget: Then a Corsair CX450M (2015) is a good choice. The SeaSonic Focus 450 watt is often around a similar price, so that's also a great alternative. If you have some money to spend, A SeaSonic FOCUS, EVGA G3, Corsair RMx are the common choices. A BitFenix Whisper is great when it's on sale. If you want really high end stuff, then the SeaSonic PRIME series is the way to go. Below are some guides into power supplies. It can get pretty complicated pretty quickly, but it shows you how important PSUs are. Here are some bad PSUs or PSUs to avoid: Literally everything from Diablotek and Logisys (Bad in every way), EVGA B3 (Faulty Over-Power-Protection), EVGA BQ (Lacking Over-Temperature-Protection), EVGA 100-N1-0400-L1 (overall pretty lousy)... there's many more, but so long as you stick to professional review sites, Like Jonnyguru, TomsHardware, or any other review site that takes apart the PSU and tests it with oscilloscopes and all that, are generally credible reviews. Reviews from YouTuber's and Amazon are 100% meaningless. YouTuber's just get what they're sponsored. For example, BitWit used a B3 in one of his builds. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-power-supplies/ (easy) http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/why-99-percent-of-power-supply-reviews-are-wrong/ (easy) http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/how-we-test-psu,4042.html#p1 (easy to medium) http://www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2013/march/why-does-a-better-power-supply-mean-a-better-computer-experience (easy) https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2053-power-supply-voltage-ripple-and-relevance (easy) http://www.overclock.net/t/761202/single-rail-vs-multi-rail-explained (easy) http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supplies-101,4193.html (hard) https://www.techpowerup.com/articles//overclocking/psu/160/1 (hard) http://www.xppower.ro/dwnd/Essential_Guide_to_Power_Supplies_full_pdf.pdf(very very hard).
  18. If I wanted a massive single tower HSF, I'd go with the le grande macho I am specifically looking for a twin tower HSF because I want to use three fans on it.
  19. Title says all. I think it's the Noctua NH-D15, but I want to be certain. I'm a sucker for large HSFs.
  20. I am a massive sucker for aesthetics. I plan on getting custom cablemod cords for my SeaSonic PRIME plus 8 LL120 fans. Going to replace the H7 with a massive twin tower heatsink. I think the largest twin tower heatsink is the NH-D15.
  21. Honestly, currently just the stock case fans that you get with the Corsair Vengeance C70 case. Plan on replacing that with some LL120s when I have money to blow. Who buys nearly 300$ worth of fans just for aesthetics? Me.
  22. To be fair, DICE has never been about authenticity. Just look at BF 1 and BF 4 with its railguns and hover tanks.
  23. This was long ago. Before Pawn Stars. Where they actually aired history shows, like WW2. And I guess I know far more about the armoured vehicles than anything else. That or my memory, which is pretty lousy, has failed me once again.
  24. Likely not. It's not standard British uniform and soldier's with dismembered limbs cannot serve. Even with prosthetic limbs. More likely a resistance fighter. Or it's a British soldier and DICE is just being DICE.
