  1. 100-150 headphones

Fair point, so between the two you'd suggest the M40's over the M50's for me then??
  2. 100-150 headphones

Those are also open backs which I'd rather avoid only because I don't want to constantly annoy my wife
  3. 100-150 headphones

That's the only hang up I have about them, I know they're renowned for having a balanced sound but could they handle it if I tried to push them to a lower sound??
  4. 100-150 headphones

My only concern with them is how well can they handle extremely deep or powerful bass like this ie: https://youtu.be/EF0lVn3n12I
  5. 100-150 headphones

Getting straight into it I'm trying to find the best headphones I can use with my surround sound receiver for about 100-150 USD. I'm lean more towards bass heavier headphones such as the Sony XB line. They would be used for everything from high volume music listening (heavy metal, classic rock, EDM, and movie sound tracks) to simple voice chat, gaming, and YouTube videos. They're never going to leave my computer station so no need to worry about having lower ohms to work with phones. The three I'm most interested in so far have been these Sennheiser HD449 https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005N8W214?psc=1 Audiotechnica ATH-M40X https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HVLUR54/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511755208&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=ath+m40&dpPl=1&dpID=41gFqXe5oBL&ref=plSrch Sony XB950B1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N5UVZBP/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1511755360&sr=8-15&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=sony+xb Looking for any suggestions for ones I might not have heard of or personal recommendations from you guys. Any help would be appreciated
  6. 1000 USD laptop suggestions please

They specifically dont let you use HDD's other than ones they provide making swapping or tampering with drives a nightmare
  7. Helping a friend get her first real laptop and we want to get it right. The price point is obviously 1000 USD, the primary use for the laptop is productivity and portability with gaming being a secondary focus (ie: gtx 1050 level of performance). Personally i'm trying to stick with Acer laptops because I've always had fantastic luck with them and they lend themselves to being very easy and friendly to tamper with (also a major focus). Regarding the productivity its mostly going to be working online for a company so connectivity is crucial and it should have a fairly decent battery to accompany long working sessions if possible. I'm open to any suggestions outside of HP and Mac, love to see what you guys can help find for this. Edit: this is my current suggestion https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-i7-7700HQ-1060-6GB-G3-571-77QK/dp/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1509743213&sr=8-4&keywords=Acer+Predator+15&dpID=41v2oytxs9L&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
  8. Adding additional RAM

First question, 'MB RAM QVL' what exactly is that??
  9. Adding additional RAM

Never knew that, i know the MOBO can without a doubt handle more ram in quad channel and even though the CPU is showing its age i think it can definitely handle it
  10. Adding additional RAM

So even though its a dual channel set out of the box it should be able to run quad channel with the same exact sticks then??
  11. I've been running into an issue playing games such and GTA V and Blops 3 where i've been running out of RAM. I've been wanting to add more ram to my system to compensate but im not sure how to go about it. If it's possible i'd love to just throw more of the same RAM sticks i have into it but im not sure if its capable of running in quad channel or even with just 3 sticks. If my only option is to just buy a new set then ohh well just let me know Build: CPU i7-4820K RAM 8Gb corsair vengeance ddr3 dual channel (Part number CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 ) Mother Board ASUS X79 Sabertooth GPU GTX 1070 Storage 120Gb SSD + 2Tb HDD
  12. Just need a Second opinion

He's saying that he's going to be doing much more than gaming but I don't know exactly what that entails so I'm comfortable going with the i-3
  13. Just need a Second opinion

He wants the CPU to be as fast as possible and have the option to upgrade the GPU in 6 months or so Gaming is kind of the secondary focus for him so I thought a nearly 4.0 CPU and a basic GPU to start with would be a good starting point
  14. Building a decent starter rig for my co-worker, just wanted a second opinion before the parts are final https://pcpartpicker.com/user/bdphxdude/saved/GqwxrH
  15. PSU for Australia

I'm building an extremely low budget PC for a friend that lives in Australia so he can play Minecraft better (he's an admin for a large server). All the parts have been picked out for the build except for the PSU. Should I be concerned with getting him a specific type of power supply that would work over there. Also I live in America if that matters at all
