  1. Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where I'm from, has essentially no parts stores rural areas suck.
  2. I dont think there is a subthread for this kind of question/discussion. Right now, I'm deciding where to buy my CPU from. This thread isnt for a recommendation on which to get, but from where. Which do you guys think is the best deal? I can get the G4560 on Newegg for $77.55, Jet for $52.96, or Amazon for $65.24 I can get the i5-7500 on Newegg for $215.20, Jet for $170.27, or Amazon for $179.99 Newegg gives better warranty (3 Business day shipping), Jet is lowest price but kinda shady (2-5 day unspecified shipping), and Amazon is the all rounder (2 day Prime shipping). Suggestions/experiences with each of them? All the other parts I have gotten as a mix from Newegg and Amazon. Had ordered from Jet but cancelled the orders because I heard bad things, but since I have heard only good.
  3. @PCIsMasterRace Another dilemma is where to order from. I can get the G4560 on Newegg for $77.55, Jet for $52.96, or Amazon for $65.24 I can get the i5-7500 on Newegg for 215.20, Jet for $170.27, or Amazon for $179.99 Newegg gives better warranty (3 Business day shipping), Jet is lowest price but kinda shady (2-5 day unspecified shipping), and Amazon is the all rounder (2 day Prime shipping). Suggestions/experiences with each of them?
  4. The choice here is: Kaby Lake Pentium now, or i5 in a week or two. Been planning this build for about 3 months now, really ready to get into it. I'm super anxious to start.
  5. But I suppose I could even go down to the 4560, as it is quite a bit cheaper. My performance would be hindered slightly, but it would save me about $40.
  6. The G4620 was my choice. It's the better version of the G4560.
  7. I have all the parts for my new PC including a B250M Mobo ready for Kaby Lake. GPU is an Rx 480. Trying to figure out whether I should go for the G4620 Pentium now, as I have the money for it, or wait another week or two to grab an i5 65/75/66/7600k or very small chance of an i7. I'm really ready to get this PC on the road. The G4620 would be temporary, as I would hope to upgrade to a mid-grade Ryzen when it comes out, but if I go higher-end Intel, this option would be void. But I can order it and have it here by the end of the week which would be fabulous. The purpose is gaming: CSGO, Overwatch, Battlefield 1, DayZ, heavily modded Minecraft, GTAV, etc. Considering moving into recording/streaming in the near future, but not decided yet. Like I said, I have the money for the Pentium, and could probably scrounge another $100-150 in the next week or so, but I just really want to get off this shitty Asus Laptop ASAP. Thanks for reading/suggesting! If curious in the whole build, here it is minus CPU & Cooler (which I would need to get a cooler for a 6600/7600k or i7): http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Blixion/saved/pxW999
  8. General gaming: CS, BF1, GTAV, H1Z1, Overwatch. That area. Maybe some youtube or twitch in the future but that'd be after the upgrades.
  9. Hey everyone! Once again I have modified my build. The new one: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Blixion/saved/pxW999 is what I think I'll stick with. Any suggestions or horrible flaws? Upgrade path is: 1. WD Blue 1TB HDD 2. G4620 -> i5-6500/6600K 3. 8GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4 3000 -> 16GB 4. ASRock H110M-HDS -> Some Zx70 board for overclocking May do watercooling with the new board 5. If needed, upgrade PSU. Feedback is appreciated. This is my first build and as of now I have the Case, PSU, and Ram because I wanted to buy them while they were on sale for good price drops. I know the whole warranty thing where its better to buy all at once but I wanted the savings.
  10. @Droidbot Wish I could man, working a nearly minimum wage job at 16 just won't allow me to get the build done with the extra $100 in the time I want.
  11. Trying to save money but don't know if the downgrade is worth it. Red Devil RX470 is on Newegg for 160 plus rebate which is a stellar deal, but I've been looking towards the 480 for a while now. The Sapphire Nitro+ for 210 to be specific. Saving the $50 would be fantastic and allow me to complete the build quicker, but I don't know if the performance downgrade is worth it. I play DayZ, CSGO, Overwatch, Arma, BF1, GTAV, and H1Z1 at 1080p60 but would like to go 1080p144 soon.
  12. I bought a 2 female to 1 male splitter because the headset has a headphone and a microphone jack, but my laptop only has the one 3.5mm port. It works now though. What I bought was Headset Splitter Cable (10cm) 3.5mm to 4 pole Part Number: HXS-HSSP1
  13. Only one jack, but somehow I actually just fixed it. What I did was: Reinstall Sound Drivers, nothing happened, tinker with audio, nothing happened. Reinstall Video Drivers, nothing happened, tinker with audio exactly the same way as before, problem solved.
