In that case just a 240mm unit would be more than enough for just the GPU, if you wanted to add in the CPU later on or such adding an extra rad at that point would be a good option.

Try to over clock it just to see if it is actually plugged in because it could be in wrong and will not connect to the pc so you might be running on built in graphics.

I'd buy one used. I bought a cheap thermaltake pump res combo and it ran at a constant speed which way very annoying and loud. So if you get one make sure it's good quality.

You would need a matching pump. It's made for a d5, from what it says.

Just a res? Not a pump combo? Sure get anything used or not. Swiftech has a little one for like $20. Anything will work, including not using one.

this is the 1500rpm variant, but I doubt you'll be running them higher than that anyways

creepybob reacted to 0ld_Chicken in how much does a fan effect the performance of a radiator
I'd use the xt45 over EK's SE since size doesn't seem to be an issue.  Sure the enermax fans aren't as good, but the SE rads are some of the worst performing rads (even among slim rads only).

xt45 with push/pull will be better than the EK SE.   The EK SE and Vardars would look better though imo and would handle a single GPU fine

edit: i know its a lot of data, but this site is one of the best for rad info, along with Thermalbench.com
