  1. I appreciate both of your help. I understand that my request is essentially asking for inferior sound unless I go overboard with my budget. I'll take a look through your guide, figure out some better placement and go through my options then...Thanks.
  2. That's perfect thank you! I'll try to find an arm like that here in Canada. Would you prefer the Yeti X over the AT2020 plus as they're about the same price.
  3. The budget was for the mic alone, assuming my budget was brought up to $300, are there any USB mic's you would recommend? And it doesn't have to be extremely far away, if it's right above my head I wouldn't mind. If there's nothing in this price point and there aren't too many options, what are some general mic recommendations? I took a look at the AT2020 USB, Shure MV7($300 and kind of overkill), Razer Seiren Mini, but I really know nothing about mics.
  4. Hi there, I recently bought some headphones without a mic so I'm looking to buy a standalone mic. I have a triple monitor setup so I don't really want the mic in my face and blocking my view of my monitors. I'm not streaming but I'd prefer the mic to be out of view, whether it's at the top of my monitor or above my face. A lot of the mics I've been looking at aren't very good if they're not right up to your mouth so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I'm fine with spending anything up to $200 CAD for the mic. Any stand recommendations would be appreciated as well. Thanks.
  5. My frequency will almost always stay at 3.674 minimum. A couple cores drop to 2.9 for a split second but that's it. Even turning power saver mode on will keep it at constant 3.6GHz and lower the temperature but never really below 3.6. Edit: Not sure if this is true but seeing a few people saying that you won't see the frequency drop too much since if the core isn't being used, it's put to sleep which won't show a frequency. I was using other monitoring tools for the frequency but using Ryzen Master seems to back that up a bit, most cores sleeping with a couple under 1000
  6. Right...Yeah, I was going to originally reapply the paste when I first saw the idle temps but it didn't make too much sense when the load temps were good. And yeah looking at the benchmarks, I'm only seeing 2-4C difference between the Grizzly and the NT-H1. Thanks.
  7. Yeah, I was a bit surprised that the load temps were pretty good...Thanks mate.
  8. I see, and I live in Canada but definitely have the heat going strong... I'll mess with the curve a bit more. Thanks for the help mate.
  9. I wasn't too worried about the temps when I'm on Windows but was worried because it seemed pretty high for my BIOS, wasn't sure if that was normal or not... If anything, the fan noise is annoying me the most just because of the constant ramp ups with small tasks(videos, apps, anything), even with the ramp up delays... Thanks.
  10. Hey there guys, I recently got myself a 5900x and a Noctua NH-D15 I've been struggling to figure out why it's been running a bit too hot on idle speeds. I've seen people say that the 5000 series runs hotter or most people aren't really idling, but it seems odd that I'm even getting 50C in BIOS where there's definitely nothing running. While on Windows, I can lower my idle temp by switching my power plan to power saver but aside from that, I'm always at 45-50C with instant increases to 50-60C with <5% CPU usage. Seems odd that the Voltage/Clock ramp up with such small tasks. I have a P500a which has good airflow and 4 case fans, 3 up front and 1 exhaust. Also I do have the latest BIOS which was released last week as I just built my PC, not sure if it's worth downgrading in case this BIOS could have created problems. Load temps seem fine: Cinebench R23: 65-68 Aida64: 71C It's possible my thermal paste application might have been done badly but wouldn't my load temps be high as well? I used the NT-H1 paste that came with the cooler. If you think it's still worth reapplying the paste, I can give that a try but I'd appreciate any suggestions before doing so. Thanks.
  11. The lack of USB ports may be an issue but I could probably just get a USB hub. I'll take a look between them and choose something. Thanks Grabhanem and Freeagent
  12. I've only had MSI boards in the past and they've been completely fine for me but I've also heard good things about the B550-F which is why I was leaning towards that...I guess I'll just have to decide between those two. As for the CPU, I managed to get the 5900x after just waiting 1 week on a backorder from ShopRBC. Give them a try if you're wanting a 5600x, I see people saying they're getting the 5600x/5800x shipped 1-3 days after ordering.
  13. Bump. Would appreciate some help, thank you.
  14. Hey guys, I just bought a 5900x and would appreciate some help picking a motherboard. Not exactly sure what to look for when it comes to Mobos. I ordered two sets of Patriot Viper 4400 MHz 16gb kits that I'll manually OC. I only really game and do software development. I found these 4 motherboards that I've seen some people talk about, not sure if one of these would be a good choice or if I should go for something else. 15. 850W is probably the way to go for him, especially since he might upgrade CPU/Mobo in the next year or so. I've never heard of the ENERMAX. Would you recommend that or a Corsair TX Series TX850M 850W 80 PLUS Gold? Thanks
  16. I'm helping Mcnasty build his pc^^ He's having trouble posting. He has a 3080 Tuf OC not 3070. Also he has a 600W High Power PSU not 650W. Would you still say 600W is enough or would an upgrade to 850W be enough?
  17. I honestly wonder who woke up at MSI and decided it'd be a great idea to automatically lock your CPU Clock without saying anything. Even if I wanted dragon to control my clock speed, why on earth would lock my clock at 4.4ghz with no possibility of bringing it back up until reboot...I even opened the app and set everything to the highest settings...Clock is no longer dropping and being locked, running Warzone at 4.7GHZ without issue. Now I can actually work on bringing the clock up and finding a stable voltage... Thank you Shrimp, Dark and Chris. So for anyone who has a similar issue, uninstall/delete everything related to MSI Dragon Center AND MSI SDK.
  18. Also, it seems MSI dragon also installs MSI SDK so that might be why it's not gone, going to try getting rid of that as well. I do see some people complaining about similar issues.
  19. I set it to 220 and switched CPU Vcore to adaptive, Prime95 doesn't throttle anymore although temps are definitely high(78-88) but at least no throttling. Then I try launching Warzone and it instantly drops to 4.4Ghz without any throttling, I don't understand Warzone's issue. It uses AVX but I turned AVX to 0...Also what's weird is, once it drops to 4.4, it stays there. Whether I close warzone or not, run prime95, 3dmark, anything, it stays at 4.4 until I reboot...
  20. Yeah just realized about the pictures And I posted about the power limit throttling a bit earlier, I've tried everything people suggested online to fix it with no luck...I increased the power limit for short/long duration, turned the C state off, not sure what else to try
  21. Actually...Dragon center isn't gone yet, I used Revo to remove it and it's still here lol..
  22. Alright Dragon software is gone after using Revo, problem persists. And when I ran Prime95, Power limit throttling:
  23. Just posted all my settings above. My PSU is 850W and according to HWMonitor, my TMPIN5 is 47C and TMPIN3 is 50.
  24. Ignore the 4.7Ghz on top, had tried bringing my clocks down. Th settings below are what I'm currently running. I tried changing the voltage to adaptive but decided to just leave it on auto for now. '
