  1. Yesterday, I was thinking about what you said and decided to tamper with the Realtek software in hope sit would solve the issue. The only option that I can adjust is the volume slider at the bottom left (besides the balance). The volume slider was maxed, so I lowered it and then maxed it out. I then ran a game, adjusted the volume through the mixer with in Windows, closed the game, unplugged the audio jack, plugged it back in and ran the game. Apparently that was the solution... volume I adjusted saved for that game alone. I wanted to make sure so I plugged the audio jack and rebooted the computer. No issues, the volume mixer is working as intended. Sum: Apparently tampering with the volume slider within Realtek solved the issue. Perhaps it's a coding issue where not touching the slider in acts as a reset when adjust any slider within WIndow's mixer. Yeah it sounds like nonsense but that's how it feels. Was that what you were referring to earlier? Only wondering because maybe I did something else that may have solved it without paying attention. I wanted to make sure in case I run into this issue in the future or maybe someone is going through the same problem and the solution doesn't work. EDIT: Can't screenshot because my headset is unplugged and I'm at work. This screenshot looks similar except the only thing I can adjust is just the volume slider and the balance at the bottom left, nothing else. The main volume slider is what I tapered with.
  2. I'm sorry but I'm confused. Is it something in Realtek that may be causing the issue?
  3. For headphones, when I set the volume for a specific program (game), it doesn't stay saved after unplugging the headphones. I unplug in the headphones (mainly for gaming) so I can play audio through my speakers. I refuse to use Stereo Mix because it sounds horrible through the headphones. Any suggestions?
  4. Okay so here's my problem, I can't figure it out but when I lower the volume for game (on the mixer) completely on SteelSeries' Cross Platform Audiomixer, there is still some sound being played through the voice (on the mixer). For those who don't know what this audiomixer does, it separates the volume for game and voice (vent, mumble, etc.) audio. That way I can universally adjust the game and voice volume on-the-fly rather than manually lower the volume for every game to hear my friend speak . My Setup: The mic connects through USB which I plugged in the back of my PC, my headphones are plugged in the front since my speakers are setup in the back. The headphones can be connected through the USB but I prefer the 3.5mm jack. Drivers/Programs: Realtek HD Audio Sound Blaster Cinema 2 USB PnP Sound Device (from SteelSeries) Personal Troubleshooting: So far disabling mic monitoring in Windows (which I need since they're closed headsets and I feel like my ears are popped without them when talking) and turning down the headset volume within Windows volume mixer seems to be the only solution to stop it from playing through the voice side. My speakers are off so mic is not picking any background audio, and I disabled Stereo Mix. Since the USB also sets up the headphones in playback (besides the jack one), I disabled it so there's no background audio being picked up from the mic, however, I got curious and enabled it to disable the sound with in the properties menu and the audio stopped playing through voice. Even though I fixed it and the audio only comes out through game, I couldn't hear myself anymore when I spoke so I had to enable the volume again. In other words, disabling the USB headphones in playback does nothing but disabling the volume with in the levels tab disables mic monitoring. If anyone is up for the challenge or perhaps it's so simple that it went over my head, your help would be appreciated.

  6. Soon, as in waiting for the money to be transferred so we can then hit the switch.
  7. This. People tend to blame everything on the publishers but not the developers. Also, Spec Ops: The Line was an awesome game. Too bad it didn't sell well enough to make a sequel.
  8. Not sure if this is true but I heard Beats Audio (in devices) was simply an EQ, confirm? lol
  9. That was pretty much my first PC, it ran Windows 95 and I remember playing games like snake and that cat and mouse game. Iol
  10. Just curious as to how many of you gained your knowledge in computers. I gained it by hands on and online research. However, I feel like I don't know enough to work as a tech even though others see me as one.
  11. Yes, but it's likely that they will push it for Windows 8 to increase their sales. Besides that, DirectX 11.2 is only for Windows 8.
  12. COD's and BF4's SP come to mind. BF3 SP was okay.
  13. I wouldn't mess with ccleaner because there's a possibility of slowing down your system unless you know what you're doing. I would use malwarebytes and scan the PC. As for Trendmicro, it's odd that any antivirus program uses that much amount of space, however, that wouldn't be the reason to slow down the PC. Does she pay for that anti-virus? If not then just remove it because it's not worth the space compare to other programs like it.
