  1. But i think that they are trying to make the AMD models look even worse, because for example they didnt offer a WQHD Panel. i will probably go with a T480 or T480s then.
  2. Thank you, i already read it, but it seems a bit disappointing, doesnt it?
  3. Ok, thank you. I'll probably take the T480/A485 or the T480s then. Maybe i'll wait for a review of the A485
  4. I linked everything in the first post. Every machine is already equipped with 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD. The T480s is already equipped with a 512GB SSD. 5. 90€ for an extra 8GB RAM Stick and about 70€ for a 512GB SSD. I would upgrade it by myself in the past if i need it. Win10 Pro, because there was no option without an OS or even with Win10 Home. I will get Win10 Pro for free from my university. The A485 isnt available with WQHD sadly, but a Low sRGB Panel isnt a big deal for me, because i wont edit any photos or videos on this device. A better Panel is a nice-to-have.
  6. For example the E485 doesnt come with a backlit keyboard. i have answered your question So I just want to pick the best out of these four. With the E480 i would save some money, but i am a little concerned i won't be happy with it. How about the AMD Ryzen A485?
  7. I know, but the E480 with Ryzen (E485) got some issues over the E480. And there aren't any/many tests about the A485 yet. Not really, because i like the build quality, the keyboard, the design and the overall feel of these devices.
  8. I want to buy a new Laptop (again) and need to make a decision between these four Lenovo Thinkpad's: E480 - 679€ 35.56 cm (14") Full-HD IPS matt (1920x1080), Intel® Core™ i5-8250U QuadCore (1.60 bis 3.40 GHz), 256GB NVMe-SSD, 8GB RAM, Intel® UHD 620 Grafik shared, Windows® 10 Pro Link T480 - 999€ 35 cm (14.0") Full-HD IPS matt (1920 x 1080), Intel® Core™ i5-8250U QuadCore (1.60 bis 3.40 GHz), 256GB NVMe-SSD, 8GB RAM, Intel® UHD 620 Grafik shared, without OS Link A485 - 1090€ or 1119€ 35.56 cm (14.0") Full-HD IPS matt (1920 x 1080), AMD Ryzen™ 5 Pro 2500U QuadCore (2.00 bis 3.60 GHz), 256GB NVMe-SSD, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon™ Vega 8 Grafik shared, Windows® 10 Pro Link T480s - 1259 € 35.56 cm (14.0") WQHD IPS matt (2560 x 1440), Intel® Core™ i5-8250U QuadCore (1.60 bis 3.40 GHz), 512GB NVMe-SSD, 8GB RAM, Intel® UHD 620 Grafik shared, without OS Link I'm studying cumputer science and i'll be mostly using it for everything on the go (except gaming). The E480 seems to be fine, but the build quality on the T/Ts/A-Series are better and i want something that lasts atleast 2 years. A friend of mine has an X240 and this thing feels amazing and he also recommended the A485. What do you guys think? Any experiences with those machines?
  9. 13" are a bit too small in my opinion. there is nothing wrong with it, i am just thinking about it a bit maybe i could save some money Thank you
  10. Hello Guys, my current situation: i got a gaming rig at home (i7 4770k, 16GB RAM, GTX 1070) and i got a Dell XPS 15 9570 (i7 8750h, 16GB RAM, GTX 1050Ti). The first plan was selling my gaming rig, buying an eGPU and do everything on my XPS. But my PC runs so damn good, its hard for me to sell it . I'm considering selling the XPS and getting something cheaper, because i dont need the power on the go (anymore). I really like the Design, Trackpad, Panel and Quality of the XPS and because i had a MacBook before i bought the XPS, i want something on the same level of Quality. The XPS runs quite well since i optimized it a bit (Temps are OK and fans wont go on at light-medium workload) So my current plan (maybe it gets rejected again ): - sell my XPS 15 9570 - buy a Laptop, that runs Windows (and probably Linux) without any compromises - the new laptop shouldn't be really expensive so i can save some money on that (otherwise i could just keep my XPS) What do i want to do on the go? - browsing the web - coding - maybe photoshop later - some office stuff (Word, Excel, PP - nothing intensive) - 14" would be ideal - i need a good Keyboard and Trackpad - FullHD is enough - Battery life >4-5h What are my favourites atm? - Lenovo X1 Carbon - Lenovo T480s I am from germany and my budget would be around 1400€ (less is better, otherwise i will just keep my XPS)
  11. miss-alligned? Do you mean, that the panel wont be in the right position? luckiIy I dont got any problems in terms of build quality/failure on my device
  12. I used Throttlestop and MSI Afterburner for undervolting. The temps are OK (between 80-83°C for CPU and GPU under load). Maybe you can order it with an intel card if you ask them before buying it No i dont have any issues with the keyboard or trackpad. And the trackpad is really nice for windows device. I won't get the 4k Version, because you would sacrifice battery life and gain scaling problems. I saw them both and the 4k version is not worth it.
  13. I got a XPS 15 9570 (i7,16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) and i am pretty happy with this device. You need to "modify" the XPS, because the cooling solution isnt capable of the power. I did a fresh Win 10 Pro install, undervolted CPU Core, CPU Cache and the GPU. It runs solid, but i am going to repaste and apply some thermal pads aswell. You should also replace the WiFi card with an intel 9260 or 8260, because the Killer WiFi card sometimes disconnects from your WLAN.
  14. Take a look at the Dell XPS 15 9570 or Dell XPS 13 9370. You can connect them with an eGPU aswell. You can get the 9570 with a 1050Ti, which would be able to run many games on the go. I'll order mine at the end of this month (probably the 9570 with i7 8750H, 1050Ti, 512GB SSD, 16 GB DDR4 RAM).
  15. But the temps seem to be “Okay”, considering they run benchmarks in every test. Undervolting could be useful if the temps are often too high. Thanks for your help Thank you
