  1. Just update everything then try your card, if that doesn't work do a fresh install of windows 10 and that will work. It's really a lot more rare that a card is bad from the factory. I see alot of people return cards when they stick them in and they don't work instantly only to get the next card and it don't work then they go to the forums. A fresh install of Windows 10 will solve all the problems and probably make you OS a little better for FPS and optimized to Nvidia. Those AMD drivers are like a virus sometimes and I can guarantee you that is the problem but since you don't have onboard graphics we can't get rid of them soooooo. You should be able to do everything in a couple of hours and everything will be fresh for the new card.
  2. Good luck man, just install all new utilities, then update BIOS and if that don't work reinstall windows. Make sure that before you install windows you have the 1060 in the first slot with it hooked up to monitor. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  3. You need to go ahead and install all the utilities before updating bios. Just let it install all of them and you can go back after you get your BIOS updated and delete what you don't want. This new bios may have something to do with HDMI native support so you need to do that before Windows reinstall.
  4. You need to update your BIOS. Newest version is 2.70 http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/990FX Extreme4/?cat=Download&os=BIOS
  5. https://www.kinguin.net/category/22175/windows-10-home-oem-key/ windows 10 key if microsoft won't help you. I would argue with them big time if they offered a free upgrade you should get a license key.
  6. Did you buy the video card locally or did you order?
  7. 6/2014 was the latest bios update.
  8. See the problem is that windows 10 is supposed to have a universal nvidia driver built in and yours seems not to have that. First check for a bios update. Reboot into bios and tell me the bios number and date please.
  9. Contact microsoft and tell them that you were part of the upgrade and ask for a windows key because your having problems installing your graphics card. Get the key, remove your old card, hook up the new card completely and do a fresh install. Only way I know to fix it. If they won't give you a key I know where you can buy a key for $20 something dollars.
  10. Have you checked to see if there is a bios update for your motherboard?
  11. try installing driver in safe mode
  12. OK, lets try safe mode, do you know how to boot into safe mode?
  13. No, that's why if you'll look at why guys used to used jumpers on multiple video cards doing mining. Take a DVI and use a capacitor and jump it from one port to another on the DIV so the card could be recognized. Try this go to device manager and look again. Click "view" and then "hidden devices" and see if it shows up. probably wont but it's worth a try.
