  1. Any small tips that it could possibly be?
  2. Its not the monitor, I tried it on both of the monitors. And both work I tested them to on the hp computer.
  3. My mobo has the L Out L in Mic SS Out CS Out and CC out audio jacks so I googled it and plugged my headset into it, thats the only thing I have speaker wise. and i turned it back on again and no beeps.
  4. I grabbed a stick of RAM out of that HP computer I had that is ddr3, and I plugged it into my computer and tried every single slot. I also got my graphics card RMAed. It turns on still and the new GPU still lights up like the other one, but it still does not post to the monitor. I literally have now replaced EVERY single part in my PC accept the hard drive and the ssd, which i do not think would affect it or brake it...

  6. Please help me! Please read it all if you post a comment to help.. Ok, so one morning at the beginning of summer I went downstairs to play on my PC, but when I got there my computer was off so, I pushed the power but nothing happened, the power button was just blinking. So I switched the power supply off, and then back on, and tried again. The computer turned on for about a second, I then heard a POP and smoke started rising from the power supply basement. I tried to get closer to see where the smoke was coming from. It smelled really funny so I then unplugged everything took it to my workbench and I plugged just the power again. It turned on for 2 seconds, and then I smelled that funny smell again. So I concluded my power supply blew or something of the sorts and pulled it out. It just so happened that day my family was going on a vacation, so I left it for 2 weeks. While on vacation because I was lazy and wanted to play my video games when I got home and not have to wait for the entire RMA process I just ordered a 30$ EVGA 500 Watt(original was 700 Watt bronze) power supply so when I got home I could just plug it in and keep playing... So I got home, I plugged it in and everything turned on and so I plugged it into my rig, but it wouldn't post to the monitor... but it did power up(all the LEDs turned on and all the fans started spinning, accept my graphics card cause it only spins when it gets hot) So I plugged in a DVI monitor(I think it's called that.) and it still did not work. So I made a post on LTT and you guys said to try it with other parts. Now I do t have any friends with a custom computer or anything so I took it to microcenter an hour away and asked what they thought, they said it was probably the motherboard so I bought a new motherboard and put it in and I tried it and again the same thing happened. So I took the motherboard back and got my money back the next day. That same trip I brought my computer with me to see what they said now... They recommended a diagnostic check from one of their engineers so I gave it to them and they took it I for 50$ and a week later I got it back and they said it was the motherboard. So I told them how I already tried that and they said it might be the CPU then so I took it home and went to summer camp for a month. When I returned I sent the motherboard and CPU for RMA later I got it back and I invited my friend over, he had built a PC a week earlier. I put everything back together and it did the same exact thing. Powers on and looks completely normal, but no post to either monitor. (Did do one thing different, it would not power off when I pushed and held the power but for well over a minute, and the reset button didn't work. Had to power off via power supply switch.) So I did more research added stuff up we t on sites and discovered my computer rig uses 490 watts and the PSU only gives 500 ~+-15% so I RMAed the original 700 Watt power supply. I just got it today and plugged everything in and the EXACT same thing happened. So now I'm well into the school year and all summer I have not had a working computer. (And I like video games and it's like the only thing I really own, besides my phone.) And the only two things I have not yet RMAed is my graphics card and my RAM. But I could just be some stupid thing like a switch or something like that. Anyways, if any of you could please help me(at least guess). That would be very helpful! Specs: Case: NZXT h440 Motherboard: MSI 970 gaming am3+ CPU: AMD FX-8350 RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16gb Graphics Card: Sapphire nitro RX-480 8gb Monitors: Samsung curved 27" monitor, some HP monitor that uses DVI Power Supplies: Original: EVGA 700 Watt bronze, not currently using EVGA 500 Watt White Storage: PNY 240GBP SSD, 1TB WD HDD Most of my parts is what microcenter had in stock on black Friday and combos I could make. P.S. if you don't see your comment as being that helpful then don't post it because my other 3 posts died that way because I think people saw like 2 replies to this topic and assumed it was fixed... P.S.S. Most small things or common troubleshooting things people normally do I have tried, I even bought and waited for a debugging tool that didn't fit.
  7. Help me!!! So, my computer has been broke for about a month now and I have done everything to try and fix it. I am absolutely sure everything is working however it will not post to the screen, I rmaed all the parts I thought would be the problem and I put them together and it will still not post (will not go to themonjtor, i have tried other ports and monitors.)... I have a new problem now, when I try to turn the computer off the power button does not turn it off and i am forced to flip the power supply button. Anybody know what i should do?
  8. Thank you! I got my card swapped for a new one and microcenter sent the other one back to sapphire.
  9. It does say that cards that were improperly used by the customer are deemed invalid?
  10. Yes but I cannot find a warranty card and how do I find their number?
  11. I recently built a pc and I purchased a RX-480 Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB and I downloaded sapphires software Trixx and everything was good. I played some games and put it under load and the temperature was fine. I was in the process of researching what and how to overclock it so I looked at the temps when it was under load and it was really good. I was going to see if I could make a new fan curve before I would do anything so I clicked on custom (there was three buttons: automatic, fixed, and custom) and the fans went up to 100 percent and the case got loud and then the case got quite with the default custom curve it set the fans to 40 percent when it was at 70 degrees was 17 before I clicked custom but I couldn't hear a noise difference so I looked in the case and the fans were not spinning. I checked my screen and it said fans were 40 percent but they were not moving and the temps were rising. So I clicked fan health check and it said the fans were running at 100 percent but they were most defiantly not moving. I then turned the pc off and let it sit to let the core cool down and turned it back on hoping the fans would spin. However when I turned it back on my fans still did not spin. I looked online with my tablet and apparently many other people's fans broke when they clicked on custom fan speed. They all said they were going to RMA but I don't really understand what this means. I bought the card from microcenter and they asked if I wanted a 3 year return policy and I said no because I didn't want to pay the extra 40 bucks. They did say there was a 30 day return policy with no restocking fee but I don't know if this applies. Also the RX-480 Sapphire Nitro+ has removable fans so you can clean or replace them but I don't know where I should buy these or if I should call microcenter sapphire or AMD. Please help me... Here is a picture I found online of the tried software. (My temps were 74)
  12. Hi there, I am looking for some new red Headphones/Headset that will match my new gaming rig. I have searched Amazon and the web for some good Headphones that have a decent price to performance. Whilst still having at least some aesthetics that will look nice with my PC. Currently I am using a blue snowball with cheap nock-off Headphones that I bought at 5 and below. I am looking for something that is red or black around a 25-50 dollar price point. Recently due to miscalculation, I had to make some peripheral compromises due to under budgeting my PC. The Headphones were the sacrafice. I have acquired a little more money now and I want something that will help with my gaming experience. Some advice would be helpful. P.S. The snowball was from a garage sale.
  13. Hi there, I have actually done this recently and it has worked just fine with no problems on my laptop. I am planing a new PC build in the future, to upgrade from my laptop, and I hit some Black Friday deals. I got a new mouse, keyboard, and monitor. I am still saving money for some of my parts, so I decided to use my new 27" curved monitor, keyboard, and mouse with my laptop. My tiny desk is right beside my TV stand and there is barely enough room to fit just my monitor, nevertheless my keyboard and mouse, on it. So I plugged everything in, adjusted the settings and slid the laptop under my TV stand (on the carpet). It never occurred to me until now that it might cause overheating because it's on the carpet, and in a very tight space under my TV stand. I just checked my CPU temps and they are normal when playing battlefield 1. So I am pretty sure it is safe to say that you are just fine doing it. Hope you learn probably from the one post I actually have experience about, The Keeper
