  1. Can anyone help me with my problem with my wireless network adapter. It should be a plug & play wireless network adapter but its not working on the new computer I made for a friend. It shows on Device Manager under Other Devices and if I go to properties it says it has a problem on one of the tabs. I tried updating drivers, I tried uninstalling and resetting. I'm not sure what to do next at this point. I put the TP-Link Archer T4E and the motherboard is Asus PRIME B450M-A/CSM running on Ryzen 5 3400G.
  2. Hi All, I have 2 Identical 2TB drive. I have some data already on one drive but the other one is completely empty. I want to do Raid 1 on my 2nd drive and search the net how to do it. There is Storage Space but it doesn't work then I tried adding mirror on disk management but the option wasn't there. I'm using windows 10 home. If there is more needed information to help me out setting Raid 1 on my system pls let me know. All I want to do is use the 2nd drive for redundancy. If there is another option to do it pls help me out. Thanks
  3. Thank you! Any recommendations for a reliable 2 Bay NAS and hard drive for it?
  4. Sorry for the late reply. If I get it correctly, the 2nd drive would become a somewhat backup drive? you said the idea of redundancy means that I don't lose all my data so is that means I will still lose some if one drive fails? If I lose a portion of data having the redundancy of the NAS? By how much will I lose if a drive fails? I like the idea of redundancy on the NAS. Do you have any preferred NAS server to look from and having that said, I notice some hard drive manufacturer has this NAS hard drive name on it. So is there a difference between a NAS Hard Drive and a normal hard drive?
  5. Yea not looking forward for a prebuilt one. more of NAS. I just don't know how to do it as I've never seen one or touch one. I know some stuff about computers and built my own for it. Like I said, NAS is pretty much brand new tech or first time hearing about it. I want to fix this storage issues and keep on copying and moving stuff around all the time if the files are needed. The level of difficulty to what you just said is too high. So what will happen if for example I did put a 2 2TB hard drive on a 2 bay NAS? Does it mean that the other 2TB hard drive won't be there? Sorry. Didn't really get what redundancy means. Not really trying to save some bucks around. I just want a reliable storage out there that could run all the time and I don't need to be bothered for files that needed to be copied again and again. Having a storage around our network would be really awesome as everyone can just copy and paste files around without bothering someone. I just don't like the idea of having all the files on my computer and if I'm out they'll call me to rush home as they need something from my computer.
  6. Hi! I'm a newbie around this things and I play a lot and have a lot of files around that sometimes my brother and mother needs it. As I keep all the files on my computer. I have a 4TB Internal Hard Drive and 1TB External Hard Drive, Everytime they want something saved they put it on my external hard drive and of course comes to shove need to save it on my computer. My storage now a days are getting a lot as I have tons of games and files (pictures, videos, music, etc.) in it. I'm planning on getting a NAS. Probably start with a 2TB hard drive and 1 expansion slot on it as we might need to get another one as family keeps a lot of files. They also have a lot of files around their computer that isn't so important that's why they are keeping it on theirs. Overall, My problem is: -I Don't know which NAS to get. prefer something that has been used by others here. -a 2 expansion bay NAS would be awesome -Where do NAS get plug in on the house? Does it go on the back of the Modem? -Does files on NAS be accessible on TVs too or any other devices? Thanks for the help! Cheers!
  7. I have 1 SSD as OS, 1 2TB HDD (2nd HDD) and I just received a recertified HDD to replace my 1st HDD that got broken and was sent for warranty. Now I want to use the 2nd HDD as backup so that if one my other drive fails I still have a backup but it seems it won't work and needed an External HDD for it. Is there a possible way to use that 2nd HDD as backup just incase? If there is pls give me a step by step on how to do it on windows 10. Thanks for the help!
  8. Can you go and call their tech support and ask a tech out to diagnose the issue? Damn. I'm getting headaches just trying to figure out what went wrong with our internet.
  9. Done that also. Tried that when we change the router. Didn't config anything and did a speed test still the same results. I'm out of idea already how to fix this problem of ours.
  10. done that with the old router and also did on the new one. still didn't improve my speed test and gaming issues. they don't have it for rent. I'm not to sure if I can go and ask them for a new one as when we did the test on the modem with wired connection it was giving the right internet speed. I'm basically the only one using the internet at home when I'm here as me and my roommate really is in different shifts. We don't even see each other. and he also has the same issue. we both are trying to figure out what's been wrong with the internet. We don't have this kind of issue before even during peak hours. I play games during the afternoon til night time, he plays during midnight and til morning and we both don't have any issues of ping latency being unstable.
  11. Hi, I've been trying to figure out whats wrong with my wifi for about 2 weeks now. My internet subscription is 25 mbps. Last week, I've been playing games like Dota 2 and CSGO and I'll start with 20-40 ping and it will go up like crazy until 400+ (500+ on CSGO). I check my speed test and I only getting about 15-17mbps sometimes it goes down till 13mbps. Before when I check my speedtest I normally get 26mbps. 1 mbps higher than what I'm supposed to get via Wifi but now its lower now. Ping is way higher than before too. sometimes I do speedtest and I'll get like 7-9 ping now I'm getting like 16-20 ping. upload speed doesn't have much changes. It's unplayable so I decided to call my ISP (Lightspeed) for technical support. We power off both modem and router for 2 mins, open it up and check, still the same. We tried wired connection with the router, I still get the same result. When we tried to remove the router from the modem and did a wired connection (Modem doesn't have wifi) I got 8 ping, 26.75 mbps and 6.75 mbps upload speed with a stable graph once it reaches its peak. We tried getting the router back on with wired connection and did a speedtest still the same as before but its a bit different. I got 14 ping, 19.54 mbps download and 6.47 upload. My ISP told me that he can't fix the issue with my router as it seems their modem is giving the right speed but not my router. I decided to get a new one. Old router is asus N56U, new router is TP Link AC1750. So I run a speed test and I get 14-16 ping, 19-21mbps and still a stable upload speed. I played during the night I still get my ping goes up like crazy but it quickly goes down and the lag during playing is barely noticeable. The next day I tried playing during the afternoon and my ping goes back to what it is. After losing again because I just can't play, I check my speed test and it was at 18 ping 14mbps and same upload speed. This is giving me headache. I don't have this problem before. I don't know how to fix the issue. I'm also quite close to the router and the microwave is far away from me and the router. Pls help. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. with the new router I also did try doing a wired connection and it is still the same.
  12. I'll probably do that if I own the house. I would prefer also a wired connection. I notice each room has a ethernet jack. Not sure if I can use it or do something about its wiring. I talked to my ISP before about it and told me that I can only use one ethernet jack and they need to activate it from the outside to be used so I can't just change the location of my Modem and Router. Not sure what you meant about to keep the hot pockets to minimum and how to avoid microwave from interfering? Does it only interfere when used or not? Any help about setting that one up? Not sure how I suppose to do that. By Bandwidth you mean asking for a higher internet speed right?
  13. I'm living in a small upper ground house with my mom and brother. Both of us play games while my mom watch a lot of streaming TV Series and Movies sometimes. I'm Using a modem and a router for my connection. Router model is Asus RT-N56U. I play a lot of DotA games. If I'm the only one using the internet I get 19-25 ping, If I'm with my brother playing it goes 20-40 ping, sometimes also shoot up to 80. If we are all at the house and mom is watching, ping goes crazy high and unplayable. Our internet connection is 25mbps which should be enough but it isn't. The modem I'm using is from my ISP. Should I get something like a new all-in-one (Modem + Router) for my connection to fix it or should I just change the modem or router? Not sure how to fix it. Doesn't have any problem with the signal as we all have strong signal through out the house. Never get one signal drop on wifi. No one uses a wired connection btw and we have 2 PC, 1 TV Box, 1 iPad, 3 Phones and 1 Wireless Printer and that's it. Thanks for any help solving it.
  14. Even though the HP support said that the particular product only supports windows 7? What should I do? Now that I think of it, I might try doing a wired connection and reboot it again. Maybe I could get it working by doing that? Or any advice. I'm so dumb.
  15. Do you have a link for where I can download the ISO file for Windows 7? And it currently won't finish loading so my ancient PC would be stock in loading and won't be able to properly boot and use. Can't remember it. Too lazy to look at it right now but I went and get tech support from HP and also check it on their website and it looks like my ancient PC only supports windows 7 for OS. I have that PC since 2010. I don't think I can go online and activate it as it freezes up on loading and won't properly boot. So my ancient PC is pretty much unusuable at this point. Don't know how to get it back to windows 7.
