  1. Hi guys, I have been doing a lot of transcoding lately and multi-tasking at the same time and I can clearly see that my 6700k is really laggning behind. I think I have been pushing it too hard with data transfers and decompression giving the PCIE lanes limit. I don't play games that much but when I do, I usually play at 1440p at high settings. I'm not planning to upgrade my ridiculous GPU situation at the meantime.. its something that I might look into when I see the next offerings from Nvidia and AMD. Below are the specs: MOBO MSI gaming M3 CPU 6700K @4.6 GPU 2x Fury X crossfire RAM Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit DDR4 2400 PSU Cooler Master: Silent Pro Gold 1000W CPU Cooling kraken x62 Storage M.2 Samsung 950 PRO 512GB/ 540 Evo 500GB seagate barracuda 6tb Monitor BenQ XL2730Z 144Hz 27 OS Win10 Pro Case Corsair Carbide Air 540 I'm looking to upgarde my CPU, RAM and Mobo: CPU:I think the Ryzen 3900X is a good deal. Perhaps its an overkill but its performance is really great for my applications! Hence, I think this can carry me over for the next 5yrs at least. MOBO: I think a decent B550 will do the job, I mean having a stoage PCIE Gen 4 option for the future and a fan-less chipset is kinda cool. The X570 seems a bit pricey and i'm not sure if its worth it in my case. What do you guys think? RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series 32GB @ 3600MHz. Budget is around $850 Cheers,
  2. Hi guys, I need an advise on a new ultrabook. I would be using it mainly for browsing, streaming QHD content and writing. Unfortunately, I'm very picky when it comes to laptop because my expectations is to buy something that going to last at least 5 years with no regrets. Hence, the laptop must meet the below requirement light and thin. battery life is important. (up to 9hr) and can be charged via USB type C. (fast charging would be nice). decent I/0 config. with 1 USB type A. 13' QHD display or slightly bigger. Touch screen (just a polite way of saying no Macs ) I'm currently rocking an ASUS ZenBook UX301LA which was an overkill and was ahead of its time. Its fantastic and performed quite nicely for the past 4.5 years. But the battery deterioration is real! (currently running at 65%/100%). not to mention that it was one of the first laptops to feature a 2k display which were power hungry. keyboard and touchpad are starting to wear out, CPU bottlenecks are more visible now than before when browsing/ streaming content at QHD and data transfer. lastly, Asus stopped supporting that laptop in late 2014 and the drivers are really crappy. thank god that Intel is still supporting the WIFI module. Otherwise I would have downgraded to windows 8.1 So far, I think the new Huawei MateBook X Pro checks all the boxes. But I heard that Intel will be launching their 10nm Icelake-U CPUs later this year. at least have some hopes for better performance and power efficiency. what do you guys think? Cheers,
  3. Fury X can support HDR @ 4K60 but only for gaming and photos. https://gaming.radeon.com/en/the-worlds-most-beautiful-displays-for-games-and-movies/ However, you will need a DP - HDMI 2.0 convertor that supports HDR (Like this one).
  4. How much is the system is allocating for your non-paged pool ? (you can check that in task manager under memory)
  5. I just took the whole thing apart, cleaned eveything with a thermal paste remover and applied new paste.. and im back in business! I took this when I was doing a stress test. got my vcore =1.27@4.5
  6. Sure, i'm thinking about doing that, any recommendation on a specific thermal paste brand? I have an A/C in the room, I would say 21c on average. both my GPUs run 26-30c idle, 50-55c load Sorry but im not sure about getting 50c on idle and more than80c at a stress test when im running at stock configs..my PC sounds like a vacuum cleaner when I run CPU intensive games such as GTA V which never was the case before! Not worth it IMO Yep you are right, I used to get 25-35 at idle and around 50-60 at load with my 4.5 profile. now im getting 50 at idle and 80+ at load! using stock profile!
  7. Hi guys, I have posted a topic last year regarding an issue that I had with "unreliable CPU temperatures". I decided to take of my H110i GTX, clean it, put a new thermal paste on my CPU and increasing pump speed to max preset, It did the trick of couple of months and temps were maintained at 60-70c @100% using my old overclock profile. Now, things are much worst. Below are my idle temps running at stock frequencies. Does it confirm that my H110i is faultly? system specs MOBO MSI gaming M3 CPU 6700K @4.5 GPU 2x Fury X crossfire RAM Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit DDR4 2400 PSU Cooler Master: Silent Pro Gold 1000W CPU Cooling Corsair Hydro Series H110 HD M.2 Samsung 950 PRO 512GB/ 540 Evo 500GB Monitor BenQ XL2730Z 144Hz 27 OS Win10 Pro Case Corsair Carbide Air 540 regards,
  8. Hi guys, I recently did a stress test for my CPU and I noticed that the temps are really weird. The issue started when I had to change my old faulty power supply "not sure how that is related" Notice that I got my 6700k OC at Vcore1.295 4.5 GHz - and I'm using a Corsair 110i to cool it --idle at 35avg but it fluctuates A LOT when it’s under load (see stress test)-- Did anyone have a similar problem? what should I look for? system specs MOBO MSI gaming M3 CPU 6700K @4.5 GPU 2x Fury X crossfire RAM Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit DDR4 2400 PSU Cooler Master: Silent Pro Gold 1000W CPU Cooling Corsair Hydro Series H110 HD M.2 Samsung 950 PRO 512GB/ 540 Evo 500GB Monitor BenQ XL2730Z 144Hz 27 OS Win10 Pro Case Corsair Carbide Air 540
