  1. My sister did this to her computer, and she said, "it said poof".
  2. I got hold of a new power supply an EVGA 1300watts for my unraid server. Nice little upgrade from my Corsair 750, traded my little qnap for it. You see where this is going. I have always used corsair psu when building pc's. So im swapping the parts out, and in sheer utter lazyness in my 6 drive server, 20tb of worth space, i decide for some reason to reused the sata power cables. I know better, ive had a used psu fry my pc from my childhood. I SHOULD HAVE KNOW BETTER. There is smoke coming out of the PC, my heart is racing and the smell of crispy electronics is oozing up to my nose, i dont know how the fire alarm didn't go off. Im already dead set that everything is fried. I remove every component to see if anything could have survived, pc boots up fine with old psu, hmm. i expected this to not work at all... I plug in my gpu. Works .. Hmm, my 6 drives nada, nix poof 1 poor little ssd booted up. So in hindsight, its not a huge loss to my identity, mostly my pride and dignity. I even work in IT and built computers since could barely walk. Its a loss and im quite sadden, but i have backups on around 60% of the stuff at least. So now im hoping the the two new psb's i just bought can save my array, and possibly save two hdds. However i still have to buy new ones ;/ Have you guys made some stupid expensive misstake? TLDR: Used corsair sata cable in EVGA power supply, fried 3 6tb, and 2 ssd's
  3. Did someone say collab? Though this might be old here, but who knows.
  4. I mean, it dosn't hurt to try, but these kinds of ransomware is a big massiv a hole. Best is to live and learn about the use of regular day to day uses of computers and on the internet. However, being targeted is a whole diffrent story.
  5. Well, you could try access data password recovery program and find some Dictionarys to check them for. If you have the gpu horsepower. But most likely its a big fat no, and paying for it dosn't garentee you'll get your stuff back.
  6. Those are the load temps. Sorry, ment to be a punctation, but the 10c drop is the load tempeture @jj9987
  7. Holy jesus marinara balls Air coolers are a bitch to install compared to AIO's now i understand why people say you should install it outside of the chassi. So i got my DR4P today and installed it as a sinlge fan orientation with Thermal Grizzlys Kydropnaut paste. Its damn near silent plus them vanity points towards being able to see my RGB Trident RAM i'm feeling kinda good about my purchase. With the lowest fan curve my OC'd 1600 in running 10*c lower than my Kraken x62 with push pull conf, but overall its roughly the same idle temps with the next to the lowest fan curve as single fan orientation. Not even a single regret after the installing the new cooler. Kraken can go suck it.
  8. Hello there everyone. So as i have RMA'd the Kraken x62 i will most likely leave that one and opt for a different cooler. Im currently rocking the stock cooler but i want a better one, and ive been thinking slightly upon my choise. Budget is not a factor since most of the coolers are the same pricerange for me, other then full on custom. I was thinking i would either go for the new Be quiet dark rock 4 pro (the wait works), or Noctua NH-D15 in which both fit in my Phanteks Enthoo Evolve ATX. However, how do these compare to the corsairs new tirpple Corsair Hydro H150i PRO? What do you guys think? Im not a fan of the current Dark Rock but im slighly leaning towards the new one of those. Im a fan of overclocking and pushing so i want the better temps, but in which minimal temp changes wouldn't matter too much. I am however not a fan of changing my high profile Trident Z RAM, in which i hear the NH-D15 would work but with a fan compromise. Quiet operations is kinda not a must, but would be preferred. Also, i have the R5 1600, but still want the cooler to last more than 8 months. TLDR NH-D15 vs waiting for the Dark rock 4 pro, but what about Corsair Hydro H150i PRO. But i do love my RAM.
  9. So anyone looking for this will most likely find it. The problem happend again this morning too when i started the computer, and ive sent for a service order, and ill will be opening up a case to NZXT. (im not bad a mounting coolers) TLDR . There is most likely an air bubble of sorts in the AIO Kraken X62 after 8 months of use that prevents the liquid from looping around that makes the cooling solution ineffective.
  10. Yeah, i check in the bios when it was overheating and it was around 2200 and the fans was spinning. Which i though was strange. Now it still says the same in cam, and i can change it like you should be able to do. I suck at forum posts. check above awnser
  11. Hi So when i started my computer this morning i noticed my fans was spinning up crazy fast and i look at my temps. My CPU spikes up to hundred after a minut and shuts down. i managed to look at task manager and there was nothing. I comfim the temps in bios and i open up the case at its still hot after shutdown. My next thing would be to check the AIO cooler, its the Kraken x62 and the fans was going and what not. Could the pump be bad only after 7-8 months of use, since this hasn't happen before? Im took off the aio and shook it a small dose and remounted it. And now it seems to be running good, tho i did set the clocks back to stock and gonna up the back up again and no problem. I wondering if there was a mounting error, but that would be rater strange since its been on there for months. Also, i have the R5 1600
  12. Your hardware is capable of lot of things, it should be able to handle 60hz gaming on 1440p at moderate qualities, and 1080p should be a breze. The best thing you could do to is try to out benchmark it, for instant Cinabench or firestrike. THose can give you some numbers and you can compare with other machines. As for "The max it can put up with" is relative to the things you do. For instance overclock or gaming performance or even tumbler scrolling.
  13. Depeds on what kind of person you are? If youre already building a computer, there is no way you should opt for a non k variant, since youre already a person who thinkers with stuff, which will benefit you in the long run, and especially with high refreshrates. I would still recommend the K variant aswell. However those processors will suit your needs really good. Since 1080p is a breeze with both.
  14. If i were to buy a Modi either with the multibit or without i would still be able to take advantaged of the balanced output of the Jotunheim? How would that be different than using for instant a modi with the X7S with the blanced output? Since i came across that it lacks the BAL input aswell. So i would be better of with a seprate DAC with either of the two but if i wanted too i could upgrade to a (different than the module) balanced DAC later on the line if i chose the Jot. Im leaning towards the X7S since its easier to get locally and slightly cheaper but i have a decent amount of time to think about it too.
  15. Hello there people of the internet. So since im rather a noobie that has done some research when it comes to HiFI but i want to get into it, i dont want the most expensive stuff nor the cheapest of the bunch, and i think around 500$ might seem reasonable, but i still like the bang for the buck kind of deals so if i could spend less i would be happy too. I will be getting the HD6xx rather soon and im researching on what could drive these and what not. So ive come to the conclusion its best to go full on mid tier and skip the somewhat cheaper stuff, and i think i have settled on buying a Schiit Jotunheim with a Dac module. Some say the DAC is utter shit and some say its neat clean and really good. I wouldn't mind if i would need to get a seprate DAC i think. (The Balanced thing sounds kinda cool and i think i at least want the option to use it). I already have a classic hifi receiver that drives my speaker pairs tho it might be convenient to have them all at the same place its not a must. (They should suffice until i decide upon the amp and dac for the headphones) Since i live in EU the import tax might come and fuck me over but i think thats a punch ill take later. So im still looking at things inside EU and found that i can get Aune X7s AMP which would mean i still need an DAC (balanced?). Do you have any suggestions or previous experiences with the Jotunheim, should i get the integrated dac or a diffrent one that compliments the Jot or a different amp and dac combinations for a similar experience? The reason im hesitant on the DAC is that there are quite many DAC, multibit and so forth. TLDR. The Schiit Audio Jotunheim, does it have its shit figured out or should i look at a diffrent combination or assorted amps and dacs.
