  1. Okay, thank you all! I was thinking that it was a problem with the 780 and this confirms it.
  2. I bought a GTX 1070 on Friday and I was going to use my old 780 as a PhysX card, but when I first tried there were not enough 8-pin connectors since the 1070 used one and the 780 used an 8-pin and 6-pin. So, I got the extra PCI-E cable from Corsair today, and I plugged the 780 in and once I had everything plugged in (the most relevant thing here is the two DVI monitors and HDMI TV) to the 1070 (one monitor with an adapter that did work before), I booted up the system only to find NOTHING on any display. So, I swapped the monitor that I knew was the main one over to one of the DVI ports on the 780. Then, I got something to display and was able to log in. I then opened the NVIDIA control panel to see what was going on, only to find that my 1070 wasn't showing up, although being on and plugged in completely. So, I checked HWiNFO to see if it showed there as well as the Windows device manager, and it didn't show in either of those. So, I am now wondering what to do. tl;dr - I got a 1070 and was using my 780 as a PhysX card, but the 1070 wasn't picked up by my desktop despite being on. I don't know where to go from here.
  3. It was probably knocked loose somehow since there wasn't a power surge
  4. Was playing The Binding of Isaac with an XBox controller (corded) and it was more in my lap than anything while playing. Yes, I know I play in an odd way. Then my cord TURNED OFF MY DESKTOP. I hit cancel since it prompted me to. Then it wouldn't go back to desktop OR shut down. So, I use the force restart button by the power button on my case. So, it doesn't START after. I go behind the desktop, plug the PSU cord back in (somehow it was half unplugged) then turn it back on. It then brings up a screen I have NEVER seen before. Said some of my specs like mobo and things, then that memory slot A is having problems or something along those lines. I then open the desktop, then swap the memory in each slot. THEN IT STARTS FINE. I was confused after that.
  5. As of now, I have seen may people say I need to upgrade my GPU. What I have now is an Intel i7-4770k, GTX 780 (3GB I believe), and an ASRock Z87M Extreme4. I have seen people say I should save for a GTX 1070 FTW. I looked into the 1070 FTW and saw that an Intel i7-6700k was recommended for it. So what I am thinking is that I would need the 6700k so the 1070 wouldn't be bottlenecked. This would lead to a cost over $700. But, I looked even further and found that my motherboard can't support the 6700k, so I was looking at ASRock motherboards and was thinking about getting the ASRock Z170M Extreme4. So, that would be a total cost of $800 - $900. So, my issue is I don't know what to get in this situation.
